Bought a truck that started to catch on fire driving home returned for them to fix, its been a 3 weeks now and still don't have truck, asked for my down payment back and nothing, DO NOT GO HERE A TOTAL RIPE OFF! Manger is mean and will not refund me money I did not even have truck for 24hrs, its still at dealer ship.

Ive been waiting over a month for a refund that was promised to me. Val the sales manager keeps giving me a go around.
On August 21,2019 I went to legacy to finance a car, Val the sales manager was taking care of me, Everything seemed to be going well until Val noticed he made a mistake ,and believed I owed a certain amount on my car when in reality that was what was past due and the actual amount still owed was larger. We were not able to complete the process. I had given a total of 1,000 down ($800 in cash and $200 by card. He gave me the $800 in cash back and gave me a receipt stating that the $200 on the card would be given back within 7-10 business days. I waited past the 7-10 days and the reached out again and Val said HR was aware but he could not do anything until HR released the check. Today is October 9 2019, and I still do not have the refund back.

Desired Outcome

Refund of $200

Legacy Autos Response • Oct 30, 2019

Refuse to fix A/C in a truck that I have had for less than a month. Owner stated to me " it is your truck now, it is your problem ! "
After making appt for us to bring the truck up on a saturday to have to looked at , the mechanics do not work on saturdays. Employees are extremely rude and have no consideration for others time . Elizabeth made the appointment for us to come up on Saturday and they are completely aware we live 1 1/2 hours away. They evening we pitched the truck we received. I paperwork whatsoever. I called several times to ask for paperwork, one person said the lender would send it and 2 occasions the employees stated " oh that person isn't here today ". I have made several time attempts to contact the owner and only once spoken with him and he was very rude ! Spoke over me and my husband as if we were insignificant or had no idea what we were talking about . Also the night we purchased the truck we had decided not to go they with the purchase and asked for the keys to our vehicle and they said our vehicle had already been taken to storage and they wouldn't be able to get it back until Monday ! This was before us signing any kind of paperwork ! Not to mention it was on a Saturday night and us being stuck in Dallas with no vehicle to return home in .

Desired Outcome

We just want the door fixed and the A/C fixed on the truck we purchased

We spoke to the customer and there was a misunderstanding on the time frame of the mechanics schedule and this is currently being taken care of. We are sorry for the misunderstanding and this is now being resolved to 100% customer satisfaction.

Dealer is taking care of the issues . Thank you ! I am satisfied.

Best car buying experience I have ever had. I have bought a lot of cars and this was by far the best. All of the people there are awesome but my salesman John is the absolute best. I came in for a Chrysler 200 because that's what I thought I could get. He got me done in a 2016 Challenger. I'm still in awe! Thank you John David Val and Adam! You all are freaking amazing!

No sale was made and they refuse to refund me my down payment
Please read my story below that is an email I sent to them a while back- I don't recommend this place!! Listen to the 1 star reviews they steal your down payment I still have my recipe and they have yet to give me my down payment back!! There attempt was to only refund me 500$ when I gave 2500$ it's unfair to have to go through the process of court to get my money back since December!! Please don't get scammed!!!

This statement is to state no sale between *** (myself) and Legacy Autos of the 2014 Ram pick up vin***XXXXXX was made due to the fact that we went into legacy auto and financed a vehicle through the only bank I *** accepted to which is named Quality acceptance. Who denied me the loan at which I was never told of until my deferred down payment was missed( differed downpayment fraud) which the bank had no idea of because I was told to lie to the bank that the full down payment was given the agreement was only between myself and legacy there for the bank never informed legacy to reposes my vehicle on January 7 2019 when the differed downpayment was missed the truck was taken by Veronica and another women working for legacy on January 8, 2019 I was told by David I would receive my vehicle back once I went to give my remaining down payment as it was stated the vehicle may be picked up on some form he showed me while he had me in the closed room while he was also lying to me if the payment was not given on time but not repossessed by the bank I would be receiving my vehicle back at this point I was still not told no sale was made and the bank had retracted itself I was lied to and when I went to pick up the remaining of my belongings things were stolen which a report has been made with this being said I demand a refund of my down (2,500.00) payment due to the fact that I did not agree to buy the vehicle directly as a cash vehicle purchase with legacy but with and only quality acceptance. It is not fair that this is being done to many customers as I am not the only customer who has experience this also your ex coworkers have been witnesses to how much bad business is done please let me know when my refund check is ready this will be reported to the Revdex.com and other consumers will know about how your dealership operates so this does not occur to anyone else do what is right.

Desired Outcome

Since no sale was made and I have my recipe I need a full refund of my hard working earned money back

Consumer Claims No Sale was made and we refuse to give her the down payment back.
Consumer named *** Took position of the car for almost a month, when it was time for her to bring in her payment she defaulted on her first payment, by law we have the right to repossess our vehicle due to failure of payment on date agreed. The consumer backs this up when she stated in her compliant the she failed to make the payment on time.

Customer Response • Mar 22, 2019

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
By the time the payment was to be made the bank had already sent a letter stating I had not been accepted so either way they had to take posetion of the vehicle I was not going to give them more money to keep and to test them I called David and he assured as long as I have the money he would give me the car because it was not reposted by the bank but by them therefore the car belong to me no matter what if cluster of a sale was made but it was not so he had no choice but to allow and tell me I had to call the bank and get myself with them to get the car back when I asked what bank he had no answer because he knew I already had information that the only bank I accepted and had to lie to had no not given me the funds so he said it would affect my credit and all bunch of lies to keep my down payment that I have a recipe for and I have not been the only victim I have asked plenty of times to get my money back because I never got the vehicle sold to me plain and simple I had the truck for exactly 2 weeks and I have my insurance to prove because I canceled it as soon as after it was picked up so your excuse of me failing on a differed down payment when there was no sales does not mean you get to keep my 2500$ that you worked nothing for to keep did not put any miles on that vehicle you don't rent them your not a rent a vehicle place so do the right thing and return me what's mine

Problem has been resolved and I am satisfied with the resulting services

Two names was on contract at signing but when finance company was contacted by the purchaser only one name was on contract.
September 2018, I went to a car lot named Legacy Auto located on 2510 Electronic Ln #902, Dallas Tx XXXXX to see about purchasing a vehicle. While at the car lot for an hour, they informed me that I was denied due to being on my job a short length of time( this is what I was told). So me and my bestfriend left. Before leaving the parking lot, I received a call from the salesman( Jessica)stating that she spoke with her GM and he stated that they could work with me on getting a car. So we pulled back up in front of the car lot. When we got back in their, we was greeted by Jessica( Car salesman) and she took us in a office in the back. She walked out and came back in with her GM( Val). He asked if I had a co-signer that could go on the contract with me, I told him no at first. Then he turned and looked at my bestfriend and asked if she was willing to help me out, before she could answer, he started explaining how long she could be on the contract( which was 6 months)and then after 6 months, they would be able to take her off and just leave me( ***) on their. So after agreeing to the deal, we( *** and Denise Moore)and Jessica, went over numbers and monthly payments( which is 445.70 a month and 1000.00 down) we( *** and Denise *** signed papers and the contract. I ( ***) gave them 500.00 cash in his( Val/GM) hands, then they asked if I had insurance, I ( D.***) said no, SO then Jessica(car salesman) stated," don't worry I can get you insurance, I can get you a discount with Geico Insurance, which would get you a cheaper down payment. So I agreed. Shortly afterwards, Val/GM comes back in the office and informed us that when the finance company( quality acceptance) calls us, tell them that you put 2000.00 down at signing and not 500.00. Jessica came back and told me that the only thing I have to pay is 75.00 down for the insurance. So I gave her 100.00 for the insurance. She stated that they didn't have change to give me back, so she then stated that they would put the rest of the change towards the other half of my down payment, so I would only have to pay 475.00 my next pay day to finish my down payment. So I agreed. After signing the papers and the contract, we was told by Jessica and Val, that the car would have to stay at my bestfriend( Denise *** house for a week. So when it was time to make my first monthly payment, I called the finance company( quality acceptance) who approved the car loan. They told me(***) that I couldn't make the payment because I was not on the contract. They told me that the contract only had one name on their. They then asked me to verify the name on the account and it was my bestfriend name( Denise *** I told them that it was supposed to be two names on the contract, they stated that it was only one. So I waited until the weekend to call the car lot to see why it was only one name on the contract/car loan. When I called the car lot and asked for Jessica( the person who sold me the car) I was then told the she didn't work their anymore. So I asked to speak to finance manager, I was then placed on hold for a long time to were the phone line finally ended on their end. So on 02/04/2019 ,Denis Moore called the car lot and spoke with Val/GM to see what all we needed to put everything in my( ***) name. we ( Denise *** and ***) went to the car lot to switch everything in my( ***) name. And was told that, they couldn't because the car is only in Denise *** name, which was not the original set up or info. So then we asked for a copy of the original contract, Val/GM, stated that he couldn't give it to us and we have to wait and get it Monday( 02/11/2019), we then asked Why? Val/GM stated that the lady who works that department was not their and her door was locked to her office, when on the phone, 30 minutes prior to arriving their, we was told that they keep the files at another office location.

Desired Outcome

To refund the amount paid(1337.10)which is the total amount that has been paid so far monthly on the vehicle as well as the(1000.00)down payment.

Denise *** purchased a car from LEGACY AUTOS back in September 2018. If she wants to transfer the responsibility or wants to sell the car to her friend *** we will be happy to help them out. But he has to meet the qualification to be able to buy that car . when they came to check if *** was qualified we told him that he wasn't qualified to get a loan through our finance company's. we advised that if Denise *** wants to sell the car to *** that he can apply with other lenders and he might meet there qualifications. It sounds like the couple were under the assumption that they can change ownership of the car anytime they want with out applying again and meet the qualifications.
we do not have any agreement written or verbal with Denise *** or any customer that bought or trying to buy a new vehicle that we will approve them in the future unless if they meet our qualifications. we will be happy to take an application from any customer but there is no guarantee that we will be approved. Thats our Policy and most auto dealerships. Customers who bought cars from last year can ask for a copy of there contract if they lost theirs . we have to have written or verbal request ahead of time to allow us to pull copy's of there contract. Denise *** Called on 02/09/2019 on a Saturday and demanded copy's of her contract same day we explained our policy to her , and we told her to come Monday 02/11/2019 to get the copy's of her contract. until today customer never came to get her copy's. customer signed a legal and binding contract. copy's of the contract can be mailed to her upon request.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Denise *** did not purchase the vehicle, it was *** who purchase the vehicle. Denise Moore was just the co-signer. We both signed the contract. We sat in front of Jessica, which was the car salesman we was working with, and signed them papers. Their is a camera right above where we was sitting and signing the papers, at the back of the building. When we came up their on 2/09/2019, they told us that we couldn't take Denise *** off the contract and leave *** in their because *** is not on the contract. That's is the main reason for all of this, because *** was on the contract the day of signing, so why I'm not on their now? Who took me off?.. The only reason why Denise *** agreed to co-sign was because we was told that in 6 months, she could be taken off and I will be the only one on their. We was told that it will help OUR credit, so we went along with it. This general manager and sale lady( who doesn't work their anymore. Which was fired a few days after I bought the vehicle) have been lieing to us from the start. Which is not fair. I have money orders, receipts, showing the down payment and the monthly payments, that *** has made towards the car. How I feel about the situation, I want every penny back into *** bank account.

Car dealership advised my Co-signer to LIE to bank, reprocessed the car then are not giving me my money back for down payment or insurance.
On 1/13/2018, I went to legacy auto to purchase a car with my uncle to co-sign. I paid $500 for a down payment and $126 for insurance. On Friday the 19th, the sales rep Jessica text me that I needed to bring the car to be inspected and to receive my plates. I arrived there after work with my daughter at about 5pm. Handed Jessica the car keys for the inspection. While with the lobby Jessica asked that I join David ,the manager, in an office room. David told me that because my Cosigner did not claim the car as his own to the bank, they had to take it back immediately. He suggested that I get my Uncle to properly lie to their other bank if I wanted to get the car back in a few days. I declined, After speaking with my uncle about his conversation with David, he told me he was never given those shady instructions. I asked for my money back, Jessica told me that unless I had my paper receipt, I would have to wait 7-10 business days until they can give it back to me in full. Jessica told me today 1/22/18 that cleaning and inspection still need to be done and deductions will be made to my down payment. The car was not to be leased or rented, so there is NO reason to deduct from my $500 that was told was coming back to me in full.

While purchasing the car I paid to be added to my Uncle's insurance. Jessica told me that a refund can be made through the insurance provider. My Uncle has called his insurance company and since the car was purchased NO changes have been made, the new car was not added. Where is my $126? I called Jessica about this added issue and I was told "it is out of her hands". I believe that the dealership has pocketed that money.

Desired Outcome

I want a full refund. I paid $500 down payment. I paid $126 to be added to my uncle's insurance through the dealership, and the money has not reached the insurance company. $500 down payment $126 insurance i want $626 refunded back to me.
