At no point was the job promised in 5 weeks and we typically start jobs with 1 man which has not been a problem for any other customer. The first two inspections 1.footings and 2.floor framing before decking were both passed on the first trip. After that the owner refused to let us put the collar...

ties in the ceiling as were on the drawings per the plans examiners request. He said he knew [redacted] the inspector and had talked with him already and that he wanted to be there for this inspection which he was there with the inspector before I arrived. After lengthy discussion he finally consented to letting us put up the collar ties which we did the next day just as the inspector had asked as he had to fail that inspection without the collar ties which I had told him would happen. The next day the inspector came back to inspect the collar ties which were done exactly as he had asked. Once again the owner was with the inspector before I arrived.  The structure was built then just as the approved drawings required and the inspector failed again because he said the roof was still wobbly even after the addition of the collar ties. Diagonal bracing which could have stabilized the roof considerably were rejected vehemently by owner. I  told the inspector I would talk to the plans examiner about the approved drawings. The inspector had passed the floor framing with all the 6x6 foundation supports cut below decking just as I had drawn them up and then we proceeded to deck and frame the gazebo roof. I called the plans examiner on Friday and then Monday with no return call. I was called on Tuesday morning at 7:30 and I asked if I could set up a time to come in and discuss the project. I was told I could not do that and the only thing I could do was contact my architect and have him stamp drawings and re-submit. I contacted my architect and 2 days later on Thursday and asked the owner to leave me the permit papers and original drawings to take to the architect. He refused and once again got mad and said he was calling his attorneys and the Revdex.com. He had been threatening that before. Then I received the complaint the next day. Most of the work has been done but the rails and trim work. Everything was proceeding fine until the owner got involved with the inspections. We pride ourselves on our ability to work well with all building officials and departments and were just fine with this one until the owners involvement. We also pride ourselves with our relationship with our clients. I pleaded with the owner on more than one occasion to please try  to work together and not be divisive. Until this action which stopped all proceedings we were working towards a solution. Thank you for your time.
