I have reviewed the offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaintFor your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below
It is very disappointing to me that this issue cannot be resolved in a professional mannerI was a difficult customer as anyone who comes home to find what I did would beMy “being difficult” should not negate that work in my home is executed professionallyI take great pride in my home and have made many repairs and upgrades with the help of my parents over the years I have owned the homeI chose not to contact *** *** further regarding the "repair" work he did the second day because I did not feel it was worth my timeMy parents did not approve of the repair work, but stated that to me that they would help me in properly repairing the ceilingThe ceiling damage was not caused by a nail pop and I have a photograph that clearly shows an “L” shaped crack in my bathroom ceilingPlaster is not nailed to the ceiling rather the lathe underneath isNail pops are characteristics of a sheet rocked homeAs stated I did not contact *** *** regarding the light because I did not notice until after I climbed on a ladder to clean the wall after another contractor came to replace a window in the same bathroom previously mentioned
The statement that many contractors were in my attic is falseOnly Legacy and Project Homes ever accessed my attic and the heat stopped working after the second time Legacy came outI could have placed the blame on Legacy initially, but because I had an issue previously with that unit I wanted to get it checked out first before I placed blame, which at the time seems liked a reasonable course of action*** *** was not in my attic again until several weeks later
I did not have issues with every contractorThe asbestos abatement contractor was excellent and I will gladly post a positive review for his servicesI had a small issue with the way window trim was installed and I did mention that on the final day Project Homes was at my home to a supervisor named JustinHe took pictures of the ceiling, light fixture, and window trim
Prior to informing Justin I reported the issue with my heat to Project Homes when I was called to schedule the next day of work, approximately weeks laterMy report at that time was to see if they were going to still send an HVAC contractor out to clean my unit and if so I planned to pay the HVAC contractor to diagnose the issueI would have reported it sooner, but I did not want to be a bother and seem as though I was asking for more than the work scope called for
I never requested additional free work, however I did request a quote for additional windows that are original to my home that were not included in my work scope when the contractor came to take the initial measurementsMy parents asked me to get the quote so they could purchase the windows for me
I think it should be noted that I planned on completing many of the things that were done through the *** *** weatherization program myself and had secured the funds last year to do soUnfortunately I was laid off and instead used those funds to live on while I searched for new employmentI am still trying to catch up and get back on my feetSpending $to fix an issue right at Christmas time has been a huge burden to me as a single parentI also find it very distasteful that *** *** felt the need to mention that this work was completed at no cost to me as if to say I am not entitled to quality workmanship as a resultI am again greatly disappointed in the outcome and will be very weary when dealing with an outside contractor in the future

lath board in the ceiling detached from the old plaster and caused a nailto pop loose a small area of ceiling wall paper. Given the age of the home, this was an unavoidable occurrence. After receiving a complaint phone call fromthe home owner, we returned to the the residence the same day to repair thenail pop, by resecuring the small area of wall paper back to the ceiling. Thehomeowner was not present at the time of the repair; however her parents werethere, and gave their satisfactory approval of the repair. We had not heardfrom the homeowner or [redacted] after Oct 16, 2014 regarding this or anyother complaints. Legacy Electrical LLC had not been informed of thecustomers complaint of "the light they had to reinstall as a result the ofinstalling the vent was put up improperly" and "is missing ascrew" until December 16, 2014 when the homeowner called requesting we payher for her HVAC bill. We offered to return to her residence and secure the lightfixture but our offer was rejected by the homeowner once we told her we wouldnot assume liability for her HVAC bill.As stated, the homeowner contacted us on Dec 16, saying the low voltage wirebetween her indoor HVAC unit and her overflow pan, which sits beneath it, hadbeen cut. She had an HVAC company come to her residence for repair, andaccording to her, they told her they suspected it was cut intentionally. Uponreceiving the phone call from the homeowner, we contacted the management at[redacted] and they informed us that there had been numerous othercontractors in and out of her residence doing weatherization work in her attic(where her HVAC unit is) since our last visit (on Oct 16) up until thebeginning of December. [redacted] management also informed us that thehomeowner has been difficult to work with and has had other complaints aboutother contractors and issues, but NONE of them were about her heat not workingor about Legacy Electrical or our work. Legacy Electrical had no reason to beworking on or near the homeowners HVAC equipment and is not assumingresponsibility for her HVAC bill. The homeowner stated she assumes LegacyElectrical is responsible for it because we had to come repair herceiling....which makes no sense. It should be noted that Legacy Electrical has beeninformed that the homeowner has been trying to obtain additional free work, over and above what her grant allowed for. [redacted] is willing to speak on our behalf statingthat the customer had not made any complaints about Legacy Electrical or abouther heat not working until Dec 16, 2014, when she requested we pay her HVACbill.Legacy Electrical takes pride in every job we do. If acustomer is ever unsatisfied with our work, we happily fix it. However, LegacyElectrical cannot and will not assume financial responsibility or otherwise forsomething we did not do or cause.

Review: Through a non-profit organization offering weatherization services Legacy was hired to complete work in my home. I was dissatisfied with the work initially and contacted the owner. He did respond promptly and sent his crew back to fix the issues, however I was not satisfied with the work completed. There is damage to my ceiling when apparently one of the crew stepped on my ceiling from the attic and caused it to partially break through. My ceiling has textured wall paper and the only real way to fix it would have been to redo it, however their fix was to spread a coat of sheet rock mud over it. The light they had to reinstall as a result of installing the vent was put up improperly. It was missing a screw on one side and has a 1/2 inch gap at the top. This is a safety issue as this is a pull chain light. Most recently I hired someone to fix my HVAC unit which is located in the attic and had not been working since Legacy's last visit. Despite the issue I had I did not think the issue was related. The opinion of the HVAC contractor was that the wire had been intentionally cut. This is notated on the invoice. When I contacted Mr. Jones he looked into and because of the amount of time that had past he decided he was not responsible for the repairs. He stated he did not think I had been without heat for that amount of time. My reason for waiting so long to contact an HVAC contractor is I was suppose to have the units cleaned as a part of the weatherization and I was hoping to save some of the cost of the technician coming out. The weather has not been terribly cold and I was able to use space heaters. I also have 2 units and the downstairs unit has been working which also helps to keep the upstairs warm. My daughter has been sleeping in my son's room in order to save electricity running the space heater. I feel that his denial is due to the issues that happened in the past and this has clouded his judgment in making a reasonable decision to resolve this issue.Desired Settlement: I would like to be compensated for the cost of the complete repair totaling $200.00. Mr. Jones has a copy of my invoice for the repair cost.

It is very disappointing to me that this issue cannot be resolved in a professional manner. I was a difficult customer as anyone who comes home to find what I did would be. My “being difficult” should not negate that work in my home is executed professionally. I take great pride in my home and have made many repairs and upgrades with the help of my parents over the 9 years I have owned the home. I chose not to contact [redacted] further regarding the "repair" work he did the second day because I did not feel it was worth my time. My parents did not approve of the repair work, but stated that to me that they would help me in properly repairing the ceiling. The ceiling damage was not caused by a nail pop and I have a photograph that clearly shows an “L” shaped crack in my bathroom ceiling. Plaster is not nailed to the ceiling rather the lathe underneath is. Nail pops are characteristics of a sheet rocked home. As stated I did not contact [redacted] regarding the light because I did not notice until after I climbed on a ladder to clean the wall after another contractor came to replace a window in the same bathroom previously mentioned.

The statement that many contractors were in my attic is false. Only Legacy and Project Homes ever accessed my attic and the heat stopped working after the second time Legacy came out. I could have placed the blame on Legacy initially, but because I had an issue previously with that unit I wanted to get it checked out first before I placed blame, which at the time seems liked a reasonable course of action. [redacted] was not in my attic again until several weeks later.

I did not have issues with every contractor. The asbestos abatement contractor was excellent and I will gladly post a positive review for his services. I had a small issue with the way window trim was installed and I did mention that on the final day Project Homes was at my home to a supervisor named Justin. He took pictures of the ceiling, light fixture, and window trim.

Prior to informing Justin I reported the issue with my heat to Project Homes when I was called to schedule the next day of work, approximately 5 weeks later. My report at that time was to see if they were going to still send an HVAC contractor out to clean my unit and if so I planned to pay the HVAC contractor to diagnose the issue. I would have reported it sooner, but I did not want to be a bother and seem as though I was asking for more than the work scope called for.

I never requested additional free work, however I did request a quote for 3 additional windows that are original to my home that were not included in my work scope when the contractor came to take the initial measurements. My parents asked me to get the quote so they could purchase the windows for me.

I think it should be noted that I planned on completing many of the things that were done through the [redacted] weatherization program myself and had secured the funds last year to do so. Unfortunately I was laid off and instead used those funds to live on while I searched for new employment. I am still trying to catch up and get back on my feet. Spending $200 to fix an issue right at Christmas time has been a huge burden to me as a single parent. I also find it very distasteful that [redacted] felt the need to mention that this work was completed at no cost to me as if to say I am not entitled to quality workmanship as a result. I am again greatly disappointed in the outcome and will be very weary when dealing with an outside contractor in the future.
