Legacy plumbing is knowingly using defective parts in their new home installations thus causing severe damage to homes.Regency Homes and Legacy plumbing knowingly allowed the use of defective parts in a dishwasher installation. This cause my home to flood and the result was severe damage. This is a brand new home that I have only been in one week. Neither Regency nor Legacy are doing anything to resolve this issue. Legacy came took the dishwasher out and left. Both Regency and Legacy knew the parts were bad, but installed them anyway and did not disclose this at the time I made my purchase. Now my house flooded and many items are ruined and neither company seems to care.Desired SettlementI want my house put back to as new condition as the house is brand new. I would like for them to get on this immediately. I want compensated for the aggravation and stress this has caused.Business Response Contact Name and Title: Eric H[redacted], PresidentContact Phone: XXXXXXXXXXContact Email: [redacted]@bellsouth.netFirst and foremost, Legacy PLumbing did NOT knowingly install a defective part in Mr. [redacted]' home, nor in any home. Mr. [redacted] statement is completely false! This whole complaint was also sent in a letter to Regency Homes on March 24, the same day he filed this complaint. Regency's response, which is attached, shows that they closed on their home before we or Regency new which homes were affected. We have met personally with Mr. and Mrs. [redacted] earlier today, March 28, and they now understand the process that must occur in order to restore their home. Please close this complaint.

My 3 yr old hot water tank failed & water leaked into the pan. The pan was not installed properly & my home was damaged. Legacy refuses to pay/repair.My hot water tank gas control valve failed on the morning of Saturday, March 1, 2014. I contacted [redacted] and they advised me to turn the water off and they sent a technician out that evening. Upon the technician's arrival, he advised me of what the problem was. He then advised me that the reason the water leaked into my home and caused damage is because the water heater pan leaked from a missing metal washer behind the pan gasket. I contacted my [redacted] the home builder, representative who in turn advised me to contact Legacy Plumbing. On the morning of Tuesday, March 4, 2014 I contacted Legacy Plumbing and spoke with [redacted] and updated her on the events. [redacted] advised me that they could not have passed code with the washer missing. I asked her to let me speak with someone else who perhaps could shed more light on the reason Legacy would not be liable for the damages to my home. She said she would have [redacted] contact me back, however I received no contact until I called on the afternoon of Thursday, March, 6, 2014. When I spoke with [redacted], she advised me that they could not have passed [redacted] if the washer was not installed, and therefore would not be liable for the damage. I reached out to code enforcement, and upon speaking with them, they advised me that code requires that they check for the pan, ensure that it is draining outside, and are not looking for washers. I called [redacted] back and she informed me that because [redacted] had worked on it, they could do nothing about it. Considering that [redacted] only placed the new gas valve controller on, and did not tamper with the pan, and that no other work had been done in my attic, where the pan is located, I am not sure why my damages cannot be taken care of. My home and tank are only 3 years old, and this type of damage, due to negligence during installation should not be my responsibility to pay for. My wood floors have buckled, paint on the door frame is peeling and there are water marks on my ceiling and walls. Desired SettlementI would like for my damages to be repaired and paid for by Legacy Plumbing, as the improper installation led to damage.Business Response Contact Name and Title: [redacted], PresidentContact Phone: XXXXXXXXXXContact Email: [redacted]@bellsouth.netWhen we were contacted aabout this, the repair had already been made. We were not offered any pictures or other proof of improper installation. If such exists and it is offered to us, then we would reconsider our position on this.
