Legaia Books Reviews (%countItem)

After spending money for advertising my book with Legiai and setting up printing and sales through *** I have not received any royalties. Over 1 yr
Legiai has been very difficult to deal with and I think they are an off shore scam. They were quick to take my money for advertising. I wrote a book some years ago and my original Publisher went bankrupt. I got a digital copy of my book and its cover in return from *** Publishing in Oklahoma. Along with any rights to my book signed by the president of ***. I had advertised using Legiai when I was still with *** but they went bankrupt in the middle of the campaign so I received no royalties from the campaign. Legiai offerered their publishing services through a representative that contacted me and I did a fresh ad campaign with them in the fall of 2018. They republished the book without changes to the cover and content and added their name as publisher. I got one royalty statement last year before we did the advertising campaign and one a quarter after the ad campaign which was obviously incorrect. According to the results of the add campaign we had over 18,000 "buy it now" clicks. To date I have not received any new royality statement or one dime of royalties based on past statements or on new sales, and I know people who have purchased the book this year. These people are either a big scam or a very incompetent publisher. If you can help me I would like to pull this off *** and away from Legiai and get what is owed to me. The only people making money on my book are Legiai and ***. Thanks for your help. If I could just a call back from someone who can resolve my issues I would appreciate it.

Desired Outcome

Honest accounting of royalites, payment of royalties and severance of the relationship. Removal of my book from *** with Legiai as publisher. I will do self publishing from now on.

Legaia Books Response • Dec 11, 2019

Good Day.

Thank you for this information. In our aim to provide the best service to our clients, we often assure that they are updated on the status of their project with us. We have sent him Royalty Reports and have processed it through our merchant. We are conducting an immediate investigation on why he has not received them.

We are currently in contact with him to settle the concern the best way we can.

Thank you.

Services paid for not completed.
Hardcover format for my book "***" purchased/paid for on 3-18-19 for $500. Custom website with 2 years hosting purchased/paid for on 4-8-19 for $2499.50. Invoices/receipts available for both of these services upon request. At the start of October, Legaia was to have my website on-line ready to promote for the Christmas season. They were also to have hard cover copies of my book ready for the season. I received an e-mail from them 6-21-19 regarding an employee I had dealt with who allegedly was on suspension. I called 6-26-19 to make sure things were still moving along - they returned my call that day and assured me everything was going to work out. I called on 8-22-19 since I had not heard from them since 6-26-19. I tried several of the numbers I had for them, they were all mysteriously not working as I wanted to check that everything was on track for the start of October. I received a call-back from ***s that day and he reassured me again and we talked details, once again aiming to get things going the first week of October. I had not heard from them, so I called ***'s number 10-14-19 and left a message. Knowing I needed to get this moving for the upcoming holiday season, I called 10-15-19, no one answered and I did not leave message. I also called 10-16-19 and *** answered, another person I've worked with in the past. He said *** was out, but he would have someone call me back. I did not hear anything on 10-17-19, so I called again 10-18-19, no answer. I called on 10-21-19, no answer. At that point I decided to file this complaint with the Revdex.com and get my $2999.50 back for services not provided that are paid for.

Desired Outcome

Refund of $2999.50 and no further contact with business.

We certainly understand the client's concern about the fulfillment of the services. We have assured that these projects will be fulfilled.

First the hardback cover has been completed and it is ready for uploading. The uploading process takes time and we are ready to present it to the client. The hardcover of the book will surely be uploaded and ready in the market before the holidays as committed. The latest would be early November 2019.

Secondly, the website has been completed and is ready to go live. We are ready to show the mock-up to the client for his approval. We make sure that it is done at its best. Will definitely go live within this month upon approval. We are very much willing to contact the client to have the updates of these services be properly explained.

This certainly is just a miscommunication. Rest assure that this will be dealt with accordingly.

Customer Response • Oct 31, 2019

Legaia contacted me and provided me with some completed work that was part of the agreement. It was satisfactory. They informed me that everything should be up and going as planned by the first week of November, 2019. I'll be monitoring...

This company promised to advertise my poetry books if I wrote a 500 word article about my books. This article would appear in their digital magazine for 3 months. I paid 400 dollars but when the online contract arrived which I was to sign by docu sign, I saw something about which I had questions. I put my questions in the comment section and called *** twice at *** and left two messages. One message detailing my concerns about the contract and one requesting the return of my money because I had changed my mind about participating. I have had no return calls and really believe that I have been scammed.

Desired Outcome

Refund I would like my 400 dollars returned to me. Whether or not this is a legitimate business, I realize that I am not able, to write the required 500 word article.
