Review: I have an old debt from 2005 with [redacted] Bank . I now have a judgement on my credit report (which I was never served for , nor was I even at the address on file for several yrs at the time of this judgement. They say 2009, but who knows dealing with these bottom feeders .) Fast forward about 7-8 years , I receive an [redacted] to my employer to garnish 25% of my pay . I call the company (who I'd never heard of) to try and make an arrangement due tomy financial situation - single mother , sole income , no outside help . The lady I spoke with told me there was nothing she could do . I contacted my attorney , we were able to petition and get my order reduced to $100.00ppp(monthly) . The order amount was approximately $1300.00 . 2 yrs later ,I am no longer worlking for the company , I call LRLO to make a payment arrangement so that once my previous employer reports I am no longer employed , I will have a payment plan in place to avoid any further collection . 9/17/13 I spoke with [redacted] , he ok'd setting up an agreement , states the company would not pursue me anymore as long as I held up the voluntary arrangement . Today , I call back to set up the arrangement , I am advised by [redacted] (who is very closed minded and pretends not to understand simple sentences) and some other guy that there is NO payment plan I can set up and once my previous employer reports I am no longer employed , they will then look for bank accounts and future employers to collect from. THIS doesn't sound right to me . Sounds like these people are thieves and LOOK to add hardship to my life . These people are hounds , operating illegally with no licensed attornies and try to bully you into paying a balance in full . I'd also like to know that if I have been paying $100.00 for over 2 years , how my balance is more than $1300.00 today . I have repeatedly requested a copy of the original legal order sent to my employer and a balance due letter . NO RESPONSE FROM THESE CRIMINALS !Desired Settlement: Not only do I need credit for what I have paid to this scheming company , I want them to stop the illegal pratices . After the adjustment to my balance , if there is a confirmed amount that I still owe , I have no problem setting up a payment plan to pay off , I just WILL not allow these crooks to take advantage of me and try to cause hardship with bank levies and future garnishments when I have CLEARLY offered to set up a payment plan . Bankruptcy is not at the top of my list , but if they want to keep pushing me around , they will never get paid .

Business attempted to collect a money where money was not owed. Explained the situation to the administrator and instead of finding a solution of how to resolve the matter, I was rudely hung up. Explained that they needed to contact their client and that there had been a mistake since I had not been used their client's services in at least 2 years. I ended my membership on good standing and was told that when I left by the owner. Person on the phone was rude, could not provide any information as to when the so called "debt" was incurred, and rudely hung up on me. So far I have called the original business where services were bought and they have told me to do nothing but I continue to be harassed by this company!

Review: This company has contacted my Co-signer's employer and has made an arrangement to start garnishing 25% of his wages without making an attempt to contact me as the primary on the account. I have been attempting to reach the original creditor for some time to set up some sort of an arrangement to start paying my debt but so far have been unable to reach them and the one time I had all I was told was that the account was sold but no further information was offered. This company has not contacted me personally at all, and neither myself nor my co-signer were notified of the court plans to garnish wages so that we could call to stop it.Desired Settlement: I would like for this company to STOP the wage garnishment on my co-signer and speak to me. They have made no effort to contact me as the primary account holder. I would like to settle this debt but would like to do so in payments. I want the company to stop going after the co-signer and contact me as they should have from the beginning. Do Not garnish his wages.

Hello,

We contacted your co-signer and spoke with him on 12-20-2011 at 4:20 and tried to work out a payment plan. You called this office on 12-21-2011 and left a voice mail for a call back. We called and left a message for you on 12-23-2011 and you returned that call and spoke with this office on 12-23-2011 at 11:41. We again tried to work out a repayment plan. We gave you different options and you never called back. We then left numerous messages that were all unreturned.

We gave both of you every chance in the book to avoid being sued. All of our attempts to avoid litigating this account where ignored. The only way to get our client back the money you spent and didn’t repay was to get a judgment and perform a wage garnishment.

Thanks,

Compliance Manager

Review: Legal Recovery Law Office is collecting past debts illegally. In my case they filed a lawsuit and awarded a default judgement without proper service. I never knew about court date. The first I heard of LRLO collection agency is when my company notified me of a judgement awarded and garnishment order filed through Orange County Superior Court. My company garnished my wages for 3 pay periods which paid the full amount filed on the judgement back in February 2012. I recently reviewed my credit report and this collection account is still showing derogatory with an unpaid balance. When I asked for detailed information on my account and amount owed the supervisor on duty said he didn't have the time. But I owed $800 that he would be willing to settle for $500 and change. After reading the numerous complaints on various websites, LRLO has been collecting debts against California State regulations and I have written Attorney General [redacted] and FTC. I also reviewed past pay checks and confirmed monies deducted. I will pursue all legal action available.Desired Settlement: I request Legal Recovery Law Offices to inform all 3 credit agencies of paid account since February 2012 and submit a reasonable settlement offer for damages over the last 14 months.

Hello,

Thanks you for your response.

We only received two garnishment payments totaling $1189.84. The third payment never was received. You still have a balance of $877.60. If you would like to pay the settlement that was offered you may do so. If not, we will have to again garnish your wages to recover the money for our client. Once that is done we will let our client know you have resolved your debt.

re: Revdex.com Case# [redacted]

Dear [redacted],

Thanks you for your response.

I have attached three past pay stubs and a copy of the original notification that was sent to

me from my company and LRL.

The three pay stubs show payments as follows:

1113/2012 Garnishment amount $632.30

1127/2012 Garnishment amount $632.30 YTD $1,264.60

2/10/2012 Garnishment amount $581.54 YTD $1846.14

How Legal Recovery Law Office records show only receiving two garnishment payments

totaling $1189.84, is questionable because the first two payments garnished amount to

$1264.60.

Like most of the complaints online, when LRL is google'd, they continue to be

unprofessional and do not deserve the high Revdex.com rating.

In reply to LRL response, please forward attached pdf file as proof garnishment was

satisfied. I will wait 14 days for a positive response and notification client that debt has

been resolved since February 2012, as well as notification to all three credit reporting

agencies ( TransUnion, Equifax and Experian)

Thank you,

Review: had a credit card debt with [redacted] for 13,381 my husband and I entered into a contract with a debt consolidating company called [redacted] Debt Relief (I just entered a complaint about them too.) [redacted] gave the debt to collection agency Legal Recovery Systems. Legal Recovery Systems have not been ethical and is in violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. Instead of going through my [redacted] Debt Relief, whom I had given Power of Attorney, they kept coming to my work instead of going through them. When they called my workplace to start a wage garnishment I happened to answer the phone. When I asked who the garnishment was for, thinking it was another matter, they said my name. They did not even know who I was. They told what could have been a third person who the garnishment was for. That is in violation. Also when they served me with papers at my workplace the papers were not in any type of envelope or cover. Legal Recovery refused a fair negotiation of my debt with [redacted] Debt Relief and insisted to $4000 down and a high monthly payment until it was paid in full. I do not have $4000. Instead [redacted] Debt offered $3000 down and a reasonable monthly payment. Legal Recovery refused and instead took me to court to garnish my wages. They refuse to stop the interest so now I owe 19,000 and counting. Legal Recovery Systems is a predator and needs to be taken out of business.Desired Settlement: As they company is unethical and has broker the Fair Debt Collections Act I request my alleged debt be cancelled.

Hello,

Thanks you for your inquiry into your account.

Your [redacted] company never offered $3,000 down and monthly payments. The only negotiation we agreed to with you was when you went to court to lower the garnishment amount to $75 per month. We agreed to that but have yet to receive any funds.

We can work with you on lowering the interest once we get you back on track with monthly payments. We are in the process of re-serving the garnishment due to no payments being received from our prior agreement. If you would like to stick to what we agreed to as far as the $75 per month goes we will stop the garnishment procedure upon receipt of your first payment.

Hello, I would like to respond to the reply from the company I complained about, Legal Recovery Law Offices for Revdex.com Case #[redacted]. I would have responded sooner but the when I logged into the Revdex.com site to see what message was there for me on the left under "Pick your next step" it would always say"There is nothing for you to do on this complaint right now." In Legal Recovery Law Office's reply to my complaint they lied three times.1.) They stated they never received any negotiation for $3000 down and monthly payments. I have written proof that [redacted] notified them on several occasions requesting a fair negotation including the amount stated.2.) The amount they state to be garnished from my paycheck is incorrect, per court order.3.) They threaten me with reserving the garnishment because I have not paid them yet from my paycheck. They make it sound like it is my fault where per my court papers "The levying officer shall notify the employer of any change in the Earning Withholding Order and release any retained sums as provided by this order." Thank you, [redacted]

Hello,

Thanks you for your inquiry into your account.

Please provide whatever proof you have that the [redacted] representative offered $3,000. You can fax it to ###-###-####. What amount are you referring to in regards to the garnishment? We have never received any monies from you or any garnishment to date. We are in the process of getting the necessary paperwork to reserve the garnishment and get our client paid what they are legally entitled to. I have no idea what you are talking about in regards to point number three.

This bill is going to get paid. As stated previously, if you don’t want us to reserve the garnishment you can contact this office and make payment arrangements that we already agreed to. If you continue to write letters and ignore your responsibility we will continue down the road we are already taking.

Review: This company has placed a levy with out being served according to proper filing procedures within the court system. In addition this company has levied my bank account collected funds and yet are still trying to levy my account once more. This company has had numerous complaints from many consumers. This company does not answer their telephone lines leaving the consumer wondering and in a ultimate stress mode. This has taken a burden on my family finically.Desired Settlement: I would like my money returned to me for the incorrect and improper filing of judgement.

Business

Response:

Hello,

Thanks you for your inquiry into your account.

Please explain the proper way to serve a bank levy. The court system and the sheriff’s department would not allow a bank levy to be served illegally. I am very curious on what you are referring to when you say we served it illegally.

I have three receptionists answering all incoming calls and forty customer service agents ready to handle those calls.

Your account is getting levied again because you still owe $5043.53 on your unpaid judgment. If you would like to make payment arrangements please contact this office to do so. Our number is ###-###-####.

Review: This collection company continues to call me at work and harass me even after several requests to remove my work number and stop calling me there...[redacted] from Legal Recovery Law Offices says he is allowed to call me at work cause he is an "Attorney"...So he continues to call me and several other work sites looking for me and harassing my fellow employees....Desired Settlement: I would like them to STOP calling me at work...It is against the Fair Federal law and it prohibits them from contacting me at an unreasonable time or place. My employer does not allow me to take personal calls, and that this is inconvenient for me because I am busy working. I would like a cease and desist and it stop the harassment. I understand I still owe the debt.

I have certain rights under the federal law, and YOU bill collectors are not allowed to contact me in the middle of the night or bother me at work. ALSO, STOP the threats.

Review: COn March 4, 2014, I was contacted by Legal Recovery Law Offices via telephone. The female customer service representative wanted me to give her my date of birth. When I refused she hung up on me. I contacted the company via phone because I wanted to know the reason I was being contacted. I spoke with a customer service representative, [redacted]. He told me that I had to give him my date of birth and SSN#. According to the Federal Trade Commission I was within my legal rights not to "give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft – charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name."

After I had to divulge my date of birth and SSN#, which was illegal. He explained to me over the phone what I owed. I explained to him that I hadn't received any bills regarding this debt from Legal Recovery Law Offices, Inc., from 2010 until now March 2014, 4 years later. I asked him, why did Legal Recovery Law Offices, Inc. wait 4 years to contact me via phone regarding an alleged debt? I asked him, why didn't Legal Recovery Law Offices, Inc., post mail or email me any bills from 2010-March 4, 2014? According to the Federal Trace Commission I have a right to " Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you."

[redacted] explained that it wasn't Legal Recovery Law Offices, Inc., policy or practice to send bills to the debtor. It was my responsibility. I commented that if I took out a student loan or mortgage or car loan with a bank, the bank would certainty send me bill statements every month either through email or post mail. When I asked [redacted] to provide me with my bills from 2010 until March 2014, he refused. However, he gave me the email of [redacted] ([redacted]@ [redacted].com) to request my bill statements.

I contacted [redacted] at the email and I requested in that he should provide me with my bills from 2010 until March 4, 2014. Today is March 6, 2014 and he has provided me with any of my bill statements. Before [redacted] provided me with an of my bill statements, he tried to withdraw $4,849.42 out of my bank account on March 5, 2014. Legal Recovery Law Offices, Inc. tried to collect a debt without providing me with written proof, a validation notice, that I owed this debt. They didn't send me any bills for 4 years which is an illegal business practice. They quoted an amount and expected me to pay it without providing me with any documentation. According to the Federal Trade Commission Consumer Information about Debt Collection located at http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0149-debt-collection

What does the debt collector have to tell me about the debt?

Every collector must send you a written “validation notice” telling you how much money you owe within five days after they first contact you. This notice also must include the name of the creditor to whom you owe the money, and how to proceed if you don’t think you owe the money.Desired Settlement: Legal Recovery Law Offices, Inc., claims that I owe a debt, but they haven't provided me with any proof, a validation notice. They haven't post mailed or emailed me any bills from 2010 until March 2014. If I had owed a debt, I should have been receiving bill statements from 2010 until the present. For example, if I owed a student loan, the bank would send me bills every month. Legal Recovery Law Office, Inc. hasn't provided me any proof of my debt in 4 years.

Hello,

I think you are confusing this debt with another one. You made voluntary payments on this back in 2009. We were working with you on $200 monthly payments to repay your debt to National University for you student loan.

You made monthly payments for $200 from February 2009 through January 2010. You may contact the school if this doesn’t ring a bell and they can provide you with any and all documents you need.
