I came to Owner *** *** of the Isthmus Acupuncture Center in Madison, Wisconsin, for, among other things, help with low-grade PTSD from an incident in Canada last summerI had been in a minor parking accident, and an over-zealous policeman sprained my arm when he mistakenly thought I was leaving the scene (was going to car for insurance card)*** for whatever personal reasons decided not to treat me after angrily calling me "a victim personality." She refused to explain why she made this decision at our 2nd apt (why not the first?) after taking a big up-front fee for intake She refused to explain anythingShe bolted out of the room, taking with her some papers that belonged to me, which she planned to copyI sat in the room for minutes, not knowing what to do and hoping she would return calmer and smooth things over and give me my papers and maybe a referral elsewhereWhen she did not, I went to the reception desk but avoided speaking until all clients were gone so as not to create a disturbance Then I asked how I would get my papersThey had them and give them to meI asked why no one came to the treatment room to tell meThey said they didn't have a procedure to handle this problemI said that was unkind and I wanted my money backThey checked and said yes, but they said it would take some time to put the paperwork togetherI said I would wait, fearing if I left, I'd not see my moneyThen without any warning that I should leave, the police arrivedThis was too traumatic for someone of my age (70) and with a police incident related PTSDHow callous can a person be?
Don't go to this unkind womanShe has lost staff I have learned over her maltreatment of themBut to treat a vulnerable elderly client this way is beyond belief
