This company was hired to install a concrete foundation with rebar, according to the blueprints. But they use some synthetic product called Gator bar which I did not agree to nor did the contractor asked me if I wanted the synthetic product or the rebar. I would have said I want rebar and nothing else.
Today is the first notice I received that Ms *** has filed a complaint against my company. I will respond with the series of emails that Ms *** has been copied involving every aspect of the events or directly emailed to her. You will notice not once was there an obejection to the use of "gator bar", a rebar substitute of better performance. In fact you will see little, if not any, reply from Ms ***. She even supplied the Pinal County permit number for the county and structural engineers approval. She was helpful in getting the product approved. No objection was apparent. At no time was there an objection from Ms *** about any strong feeling about the substitution until she stiffed me on half of the final payment after we completed the foundation. Had she expressed an objection, we would have immediately installed rebar. The county approved the equal product as well as the structional engineer that designed the barn foundation for the new product. Basically. Ms *** is just a down right cheat. Verbally she complained that the barn kit people were charging her storage. We built a pad substantially larger that what she proposed was a suitable pad. Site unseen we agreed to spruce up her pad. This took three days of tractor work. We built the pad large enough that the barn could have been delivered right after we finished the enlargement of the pad. She did not have adequate water for us to compact her base material as discussed early in our negotiations. We had to wait six weeks for it to rain.I will follow through with the paper trail tomorrowA site visit will illuminate how the conditions are where she lives. Thank you. I didn't not approved the Gator bar nor did I help. It's all false information from the contractor. And I don't appreciate being called a cheap that is unprofessional as well. My blueprints clearly recalls for rebar and that's what I was expecting and that's what I paid for. I do not wish any ill will on the contractor. Just be upfront with your clients and let them know that you are using a synthetic material and not rebar. Give them a choice please and have a nice day.
Here is the total email chain of correspondence between Ms *** and my company.Of all the misinformation that was given to us on the front end of the job, we continued to act in good faith. It was not until 12-19-19 we were first aware that Pinal county was unaware of "Gator Bar" for uses in situations like this which we call " standard or equal". Pima county has approved "Gator Bar" for the past three or four years. Ms ***, at this time, was aware we were getting "Gator Bar" approved by both the Pinal County building code department, as they did, as well as the structural engineer who also approved the use of "Gator Bar".In all the correspondence between, the county, the structural engineer, and Ms ***, not once did she object to the use of "Gator Bar". She even gave us the permit number so we could get the county approval. Not until she stiffed us on half of our final payment, after we finished her foundation, did she take on the position she objected to "Gator Bar" and wanted rebar.As you will see from the email chain, what I am telling you is true. Please ask Ms *** when she first mentioned to us she didn't approve of "Gator Bar"? She had been copied on everything concerning the approval of "Gator Bar" All she had to do was hit a reply message letting us know she didn't want "Gator Bar". In fact, ask her for the correspondence between us replying to my many messages to her every step along the way. Situations like this, is the reason I put in writing every correspondence that may have been said or needs to be followed by a paper trail.I await you response. Sincerely
We were waiting for our permit structure to be approved and the contractor knew this since he was only pouring the foundation. This contractor has been trying to get more money from us even after the contracted was signed. He saw the job site before he started and saw our well with a 1500 gallon water storage and said it was fine. The gator bar failed inspection and that's when I learned about the contractor not using rebar. "See Attachments" The contractor went on vacation in the middle of the job. Most of our correspondence is in a text message. He was told to remove the gator bar but instead he ignored the request and wanted to see if he could get the gator bar to pass in Pinal county which is the county where I live. This has been a long and drawn out deal. We had to fix the plumbing twice due to their negligence. The structure had to be put in storage in November 2019 because he was trying to get the gator to pass in Pinal county all he had to do was change it out for rebar. Also the square footage isn't correct. The made the changes to the foundation via the inspector request then changed it back afterward. I'm done!
