Review: We are writing to register a complaint about Lehigh Supply, at [redacted] in Bethlehem, concerning a range we ordered from them. The purchase invoice is dated September 4, 2013. These are the details:

We went to Lehigh Supply to buy a high end range—a [redacted], specifically. We told them we wanted the full natural gas model, not propane, not dual fuel.

Our contractor went to the store and gave them the model number we had given him. He was told that the number was for the dual fuel version. Knowing we said we wanted all gas he called us to confirm that and we did. He then told them repeatedly that we wanted the all-natural gas model. They told him what the "correct" model number was and that they would provide it. The "correct" model number was for the propane version, one of which they just "happened" to have in the store.

Lehigh Supply sent us the propane model. Due to gas line pressure differences the propane model will not work properly on a natural gas line. Lehigh Supply refused to take back the stove they shipped us, which they knew, or should have known, was the wrong one. They said too bad, but you can buy a conversion kit and pay to have it installed. However, the conversion kits are out of stock and back ordered.

They finally agreed to pay for the conversion kit, but we're still waiting for it. We have also contacted the [redacted] ([redacted]) customer service people. We were told they couldn’t do anything about requiring Lehigh Supply to take back this propane model, but did offer to expedite the shipping of the conversion kit when it came into [redacted], and extend our warranty for a year. We are still waiting for the kit. Heaven knows how long it will take to come.

We told our contractor to order through Lehigh Supply because we wanted to support a local business. Unfortunately, that turned out to be a very bad decision on our part, as their actions in this matter seem, to us, clearly to constitute fraud.Desired Settlement: Refund
