Review: My bank, Lehigh Valley Educators Credit Union, incorrectly typed my husband's account number into their system when working with another customer who wanted $25 withdrawn from their account biweekly. Instead of the $25 being deposited into the account the other customer wanted, it was deposited into my husband's account. He did not realize this was happening as it was going into his account the same day as his direct deposit. My husband does not use LVECU as he main bank and stopped using the account. Two years later, July 22nd, 2014, my husband received a phone call of urgency from the bank. He returned the phone call from Kathy at LVECU who said we owe the bank about $1,200.00. She told him that she accidently entered his account instead of the other customer's account to receive $25 biweekly. She said it was her mistake that this happened. She then asked him if he worked because she needed the money right away. This was not only insulting, but shocking. My husband hung up and called me. When I tried to call Kathy at LVECU, she did not return my two calls. My husband and I went to the bank after work. There had been about $550.00 remaining in his account that they took to repay part of the $1,200.00 When we asked where they were going to get the remaining money, the bank manager said that she had already contacted their lawyer and they already took the $827.00 balance out my account because my husband's name is under my name on my account. No one at the bank had ever returned my two calls. No on at the bank ever contacted me to tell me that they were taking money out of my account. I would have been willing to work with a payment plan, but they gave me no option. We live paycheck to paycheck and their big mistake is hurting us now.Desired Settlement: I would like the money returned to my account or a payment plan be set up to pay back the money that the bank accidentally put into my husband's account.
