To whom this may concern at the Revdex.comThe following is my lengthy response to *** *** ***'s outlandish and blatantly accusations and claims in her customer service complaint: To *** ***'s insinuation that I am not experienced enough or do not know what am
doing, I would have her know that I have been practicing for yearsIn years, she is literally the FIRST person to ever complain about the quality of my eye careA simple search on the internet will show you drastically different opinions from other patients of my knowledge, expertise, and level of personal care I give to my patientsIn years, have built this practice into being one of the most successful in the areahave a very strong, lengthy, and loyal patient following and an enormous amount of patients referred to me from these current patients who are happy with the quality of care provideI am booked months out in advanceRemarkable for someone who doesn't know what he is doingI question *** exactly what is her professional background in medical/eye care that she is in a position to question my knowledge and skills as an eye care practitioner? Unless she has a degree to practice eye care, she has absolutely zero grounds for making such harmful and slanderous accusations about meI will be seeking legal counsel moving forward to deal with any further slanderous comments *** levels against me, my abilities as an eye care practitioner, or my personal characterHer comments that I told her to "LIE or EXAGGERATE" her symptoms are a boldfaced lie which she has absolutely no way of provingI tell every patient refer for cataract surgery to EMPHASIZE their symptoms in order to allow the surgeon to understand the full scope of their visual problemsCountless times patients will report visual complaints to me but then not explain their problems with as much detail to the surgeon...which makes their surgical consultation pointlessThis may be because they are fearful of Surgery and want to avoid it or possibly because of the limited time patients typically get with the surgeonMost Surgical consults are very rushed and there is limited face to face time with the surgeon*** has clearly misunderstood my conversations with her and is making up a story that can hurt my office/career and she has no way to remotely back up any of her claimsI have literally NOTHING to gain by referring her to a cataract surgeon, There are no illegal kickbacks and do not profit financially AT ALL from her possibly having cataract surgeryIn fact, quite the oppositeIf I am after her money as she seems to claim, would want to sell her glasses every year as opposed to her having surgery where the result may be that she no longer needs glasses, Also, by referring her to a surgeon (whom have no personal relationship with), run the risk of her staying under the care of that doctor and never coming back to see me and I would lose a patientI find her insinuation that there is some kind of "scheme" laughable and hurtful at the same time*** states that she "knows" would not take a lie detector test, it's very easy for her to say she could take a lie detector test and pass...prove itAnd with all due respect, how on earth does she know or not know what would do? She doesn't know me or my character so for her to insinuate that I am a dishonorable person who is a liar again borders on slanderousOnce again, any further comments or communication will be coming from my lawyerShe again makes a claim with no proof that she sought the opinion of other doctors who state that they would never have sent her to a surgeonOnce again, very easy to say something like that but where is your proof ***? Name these doctors and can have a professional and educated conversation with them to discuss our difference in medical opinionOtherwise mentioning two random and unnamed doctors you spoke to can easily be written off as a made up story to try to prove your point*** also conveniently leaves out the fact that she spoke in great length with my partner, DrR Douglas Q***, regarding this situationHe has been practicing for nearly yearsHe looked through her records and confirmed with the patient that she does have advanced cataracts and that cataract surgery was a viable optionFunny how she left that out because it doesn't fit her narrativeAlso, the letter from the surgeon clearly states that the cataract-specific testing they performed on *** *** does show enough vision loss in both eyes (left eye more) that she easily qualifies for cataract surgery by any medical or insurance standard, The letter states that *** *** decided to pursue cataract surgery when she felt that she is more symptomatic, The fact is that medical/eye care is not always an exact scienceTwo doctors can look at the same thing and have different opinionsI felt that *** *** would benefit from cataract surgerywould NOT benefit from thisIf another doctor had a differing opinion, that is not that uncommonHowever, if a doctor were to make comments disregarding my opinions without actually examining her himself, that is downright unprofessionalI can also easily pull doctors in the area to look at her chart and confirm my diagnosis and plan, *** is complaining that she had to pay a bill for $143.86, What exactly are the grounds of her complaint? She feels that she is entitled to not have to pay bills for services rendered to her? If the bill came to her a few months later than usual, that doesn't make it an erroneous billWe are a very busy office and sometimes it takes a while to process charges with insurance companies, Sometimes insurance companies are delayed with their processing and response, Her exam was applied to her deductibleShe has to pay that billShe is upset because we sent her a bill to pay off a large balance on her account for services she received? She is complaining to the Revdex.com about that? I'd recommend that she switch to an insurance plan that doesn't have as high a deductible and maybe then she won't have to pay so much out of pocket to her doctorsI am truly sorry that *** feels wronged by this entire situationHowever, I unequivocally state that I would do NOTHING different if I had to do it all over againdid what thought was in the best interest of this patient, without any personal or financial benefit to myselfI treat every patient with the utmost care, knowledge, and skillEvery day in America, thousands of patients are referred to surgeons of all specialties for consultation for possible surgery, And every day, thousands of surgeons tell those patients that surgery is not yet absolutely necessary or that a patient can hold off until their condition worsensIn the end, the decision to perform surgery is left up to the discretion and experience of the surgeon and also left up to the patient, This is not uncommonI'm sorry that *** doesn't understand this, I'm also sorry that she is making blatant lies with zero proof that I told her to lie to the surgeon, even with her outrageous comments about lie detector tests, Besides, if *** felt so uncomfortable with my knowledge and experience and felt that I told her to lie to the surgeon, why would she even agree to go see the surgeon as I recommended for a second time? I take extreme pride in the superior level of eye care I have provided my patients over the last yearsI am constantly honing my skills and expanding my knowledge to be the best physician can beI would not have gotten to this level of success if I was the type of doctor *** claims me to beIn years, she is the first patient to make these types of accusations against meI have a very strong reputation in this region, see thousands of patients each year, all of whom would refute every description of me *** has falsely madeI take immense measures to continuously prepare myself to be the best doctor can beI have worked too hard and take too much pride in myself as a physician and a person to sit idly by while any individual tries to slander my experience, knowledge, or characterrefuse to allow a bitter individual to attempt to ruin my careerAny further comments on this issue or if *** feels the need to continue her baseless accusations (made solely because of medical bills), will be addressed by my lawyers.Regards,DrTony S.Date: 3/11/
