Sunday December 13th? and without prior knowledge of this broadcast our website was overwhelmed along with all other Racine bakeriesOur ability to deal with the immense response was futileMost kringle websites were shut down because of the volume, but we kept ours open a day longer than most of the othersOur phone system was also overwhelmed by the response and we couldn't respond to the influx of customers fast enoughAs each call was answered, more came in.? We were not staffed to deal with the overflowMost calls were diverted to voice mail but it truly overwhelmed our phone system and it was shut down by? Tuesday? also.Our employees with best intentions tried to answer calls and take orders, but by? things right.   So that you are aware, unbeknown to us, there was a documentary about "Racine Kringle"  aired nationwide on CBS news magazine on Sunday December 13th and without prior knowledge of this broadcast our website was overwhelmed along with all other Racine bakeries. Our ability to deal with the immense response was futile. Most kringle websites were shut down because of the volume, but we kept ours open a day longer than most of the others. Our phone system was also overwhelmed by the response and we couldn't respond to the influx of customers fast enough. As each call was answered, 3 more came in. We were not staffed to deal with the overflow. Most calls were diverted to voice mail but it truly overwhelmed our phone system and it was shut down by Tuesday also.Our employees with best intentions tried to answer calls and take orders, but by Tuesday it was also apparent that we could not handle everything that was thrown at us and we shut down our website as well. We stopped taking orders. The volume of calls was more than 10 times our annual mail order business and  there was no way we could have predicted this. We have been successfully responding to customers and explaining what happened and most are very understanding. Review: On 12-13-15 I ordered two kringles online. I am in Kentucky and the products were supposed to go to Las Vegas. On their web site it states to order by Wednesday of every week so the products can be shipped in one or two days per the items are perishable so they will arrive by Friday. I called the bakery on Wednesday, 12-16-15 only to be told by the female manager that my order couldnt be found and was lost. She took my order again over the phone and assured me it would be shipped out Thursday 12-17-15 via overnight mail by the post office. Keep in mind I was charged for this immediately via PayPal. Long story short, no goods were delivered on Friday 12-18-15 as promised by the store manager after my initial order was lost. The manager lied to me and didnt follow through as she stated. Also, today is Monday 12-21-15 and Ive been trying to call the bakery all day since they opened at 5:30 am this morning and no answer and then it goes to voicemail and their voicemail box is full!! I have since filed a claim with PayPal to get my money refunded per havent received anything from this bakery but lies and more lies. When a manager lies to you, it doesnt leave a very good taste in a person's mouth. This bakery is a total joke, not to mention unprofessional, they are liars, lose online orders, I could go on and on!!Desired Settlement: I want people to know how this bakery does business. They are one of the worst companies I have ever dealt with!!
