Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because:I would like to speak with the [redacted] mentionedThere have been NO calls to my knowledge from anyone at Leif Johnson Ford, and NO messagesI'd like to know what phone number they are calling - & would very much like to speak with the person mentionedI appreciate the technical description, & having had the vehicle checked by other professionals, have received technical descriptions from them on this matter as wellWhat LJ Ford is saying is possible - but according to everyone I've consulted, it's also possible the damage could have occurred that dayI do not appreciate their inferences that the vehicle was not taken care of prior to this visit - there are things they do not know in that regard. Please arrange a meeting with the [redacted] who supposedly has been trying to contact me, or LJ Ford management to discuss everythingThis is a tremendous hardship for me & I'm trying to find the best way to solve the problemI am not flippantly disregarding their discount - but even with it, their cost is prohibitive Regards, [redacted]

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because:from all information received, & because of no prior leaks before coming to Leif Johnson Ford, I believe their mechanic did not exercise proper care in removing the drain plug and damaged the panTheir response attempts to say the truck was not properly cared for, which it wasThey cannot rule out that the damaged pan was due to their mechanic's failure to take the time and care needed when doing this oil changeIt was the last, or one of the last, done Wednesday before the holiday; an there was, according to the service rep, a much larger than anticipated crowd in for service that day.Suggesting I now pay $or have my previously undamaged vehicle permanently tainted is unacceptable and unprofessional from this major Austin dealer where we purchased the vehicle Regards, [redacted]

To whom it may concern, [redacted] had brought in her vehicle for a $oil change on the 26th of November for the first time since the purchase in February When we went to service her vehicle and we went to remove the drain plug and the threads came out with the drain plugThis is an indication of the drain plug was being over tightened on a prior service or weakened over time from being over tightenedSince the purchase of the vehicle it has accrued 31,mile on it and should have had several oil changes over that time period in which none were done by Leif Johnson FORD, with the exception of this last serviceSo on a retail basis the oil pan replacement is over $1,000.00, but to assist her in the replacement of the oil pan it would be reduced to $This is the recommended repair to do it correctly [redacted] has also researched other repairs such as an oversize oil plug, Tapping it, and Healy coilI explained to her these are what we call band aid repairs and we would not do those repairs at our facilityIn the event those repairs fail it could lose all oil and cause severe damage to the engineShe has referred to her professional mechanic to me several times, so I extended another offer to her to reimburse up to $to assist her in having her professional mechanic or any other mechanic to do those repairs for herI also did emphasize that it is not an effective long term repair and we would not be responsible for any results of that repairLeif Johnson FORD has not done anything incorrect in this matter and has offered two goodwill assistance options to assist [redacted] in this matter and she was supplied with these two options because she purchased the vehicle from us and we do want to help her in this matterThe offer still stands if she wants to advantage of the opportunityRegards, [redacted] Leif Johnson FORD###-###-#### Cell

It is very unfortunate that the vehicle has damage to the oil pan and has to be replaced Although, we do understand your frustration, Leif Johnson Ford has no responsibility for the damage to the oil pan We have tried to explain this issue with the previous response From our perspective we cannot see any workmanship fault at any level Also, in areas like this when a plug/screw has been put in incorrectly the issue will not fail until the next time it is removed We are sorry we had to be the bearer of bad news Thank you,Leif JohnsonTell us why here

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: Regards, [redacted] [redacted] and his sales associate he was working with, WROTE on the paperwork my request It was not just a verbal requestI stated I wanted my credit to be run through only my bank [redacted] and I called to reiterate this IT WAS IN WRITING!!!! I have received responses from creditors siting one of the reasons for denial of credit is because of TOO MANY inquires I was out and out disregarded They lost a sale on the FORD ESCAPE because of their lack of commitment to my request The bank that I told them would accept me, was in fact, the best interest rate of % and the best all around offer If they had listened to me I would not have another inquires on my credit report Those inquires stay on for months!

I am rejecting this response because: When I have proof that this has been done with ALL of the credit companies, we can, maybe, come to a conclusion in this matter. I would need it to be in writing please

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
Regards,
[redacted]This is a false statement.  I received a call from [redacted] a manager and I returned his call.  He never offered to remove the inquires from my credit report.  I would like them to remove all their inquiries,  INCLUDING FORD"s inquiry which I just received mail.  There are several letters coming in.  I am floored that some many credit requests were put out there when I asked for only one to be run.  [redacted] Bank.  Please ask them to remove the inquiries ALL of them and provide proof.  Thank you. If I had known they could do this I would have had them do it 10 or 12 months ago when they did this same thing to me.  I felt 2 times ruining a persons credit score is quite enough.  thank you.  Let me know if they provide proof of inquires removed.

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:There is no indication that the oil pan plug was ever put in incorrectly, including no leaking prior to bringing my vehicle to this dealer. Leif Johnson Ford's response is suggesting that no one has ever damaged an oil pan plug in removing it. If their mechanic had been professional & had ran into resistance or a problem when he started to remove the plug, he either should have exercised appropriate care in removing it or stopped. This is the expert opinion of mechanics across the board that I checked with. The Leif Johnson mechanic did neither. He both removed and replaced the plug. My oil was removed. This I know because the service rep even asked if I wanted to leave the vehicle without putting oil in it - since he said what they put in would leak out. I have now spoken with over a dozen mechanics and auto parts/repair shops, including master mechanics, other professional mechanics, a former Leif Johnson Ford mechanic, & auto parts specialists. Leif Johnson Ford's response suggests that no Leif Johnson Ford mechanic could have erred.  I believe whether the mechanic was new, a friend or relative of Ford management, or just in a hurry with a vehicle that was there past closing time the evening before a 4-day holiday, service management is trying to cover for his lack of proper care - & also because the repair is expensive due to the labor. Having purchased the vehicle from Leif Johnson, my oil changes are $16. It's clear my business as a future customer is something they don't mind losing. The fact remains that my vehicle had no problem with the oil pan or plug and is now damaged after bringing it in for an oil change. In addition to the vehicle damage, there were many things about this service visit that were unsatisfactory and unprofessional:1) No one greeted me when I drove in to the service area. I had to go inside, & then stood around until someone finally acknowledged me.2) I had asked prior to this day about when to come & was told to come in Wednesday afternoon. I did, but waited for hours - apparently the last in line the evening before the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. Perhaps the work load wasn't expected, but that only adds to the likelihood that the mechanic may have rushed to finish my work & not used proper care in removing the plug - which is what I & mechanics I've spoken with believe happened.3) When the service rep informed me about the oil pan problem, he suggested they not put in all the oil since it would probably leak out. I asked if they would still be charging the full amount for the oil change. He replied yes. So they were suggesting I leave - with less than the full amount of oil - in a vehicle that they said would now leak oil - & still pay them for a full oil change.4) When I spoke with a [redacted], [redacted], he promised the company would do the right thing & asked me to come in & said they would take a look at the vehicle. No one ever looked at my vehicle this day or again (at Ford that is ... I had it checked by other mechanics after).5) I did come in - expecting to have my vehicle checked as [redacted] said, but he instead took me to see his [redacted], where [redacted] & I stood outside the glass door to [redacted]'s office until he motioned we were allowed to come in. This [redacted] did not give me a chance to talk, said nothing about my vehicle being checked out when I asked about that, but just insisted without any discussion, without any question who did the work, without checking the vehicle in any way, that Leif Johnson Ford did not damage my truck. The mechanic is still unknown to me. I never saw or was able to question him. While [redacted] did seem to care, [redacted] was not willing to listen or answer any questions.Leif Johnson Ford cannot say without any doubt that they did not damage the oil pan or plug. For them to take no responsibility for causing damage & leaking to my vehicle which had no prior problems is incredibly unprofessional, irresponsible & unacceptable. It seems as if someone is trying to protect someone, cover up poor service or simply not accept responsibility & instead, pass this loss on to a consumer who came in in good faith - even to the dealer where the vehicle was purchased.

[redacted]

It is our standard practice to help our customers have choices of lenders when applying for an auto loan.  We apologize we did such a poor job communicating our process when the application was completed and not communicating with you about your request properly.  Below is information...

regarding these types of inquiries from MyFICO.com which discusses the reason why these inquiries should not affect your FICO score for multiple inquiries.  However, our Finance Manager will contact the credit bureaus and see if we can have the inquiries removed from your bureaus.  This process is not immediate and not 100% successful, but the Finance Director will communicate with you on his progress as we move forward.  We apologize for any inconvenience. From MYFICO.com“Research has indicated that FICO Scores are more predictive when they treat loans that commonly involve rate-shopping, such as mortgage, auto and student loans, in a different way. For these types of loans, FICO Scores ignore inquiries made in the 30 days prior to scoring. So, if you find a loan within 30 days, the inquiries won't affect your score while you're rate shopping. In addition, FICO Scores look on your credit report for rate-shopping inquiries older than 30 days. If your FICO Scores find some, your scores will consider inquiries that fall in a typical shopping period as just one inquiry. For FICO Scores calculated from older versions of the scoring formula, this shopping period is any 14 day span. For FICO Scores calculated from the newest versions of the scoring formula, this shopping period is any 45 day span. Each lender chooses which version of the FICO scoring formula it wants the credit reporting agency to use to calculate your FICO Scores.”

We are sorry to hear about the problems our customer has experienced with his vehicle.  This vehicle is a 2009 Ford F250 purchased with 74,000 miles.  After the vibration started after the delivery of the vehicle there where several components repaired under the service contract purchased...

at the time of delivery.  The repairs were competed on the truck when it had 85,000 miles.   After this complaint was submitted to the Revdex.com our customer brought this vehicle into our service location on Highway 71.  At that time, we diagnosed the rear tire as separating due to an impact.  After the tire was replaced the vibration in the truck stopped.  We re-inspected the front end of the truck and found no additional problems and the truck had no further evidence of vibration.  It appears the bad rear tire on the truck was the source of the problem.

[redacted] and his sales associate he was working with, WROTE on the paperwork my request.  It was not just a verbal request. I stated I wanted my credit to be run  through only my bank [redacted] and I called to reiterate this.  IT WAS IN WRITING!!!!  I have received responses from creditors siting one of the 2 reasons for denial of credit is because of TOO MANY inquires.  I was out and out disregarded.  They lost a sale on the FORD ESCAPE because of their lack of commitment to my request.  The bank that I told them would accept me, was in fact, the best interest rate of 3.49 % and the best all around offer.  If they had listened to me I would not have another 9 inquires on my credit report.  Those inquires stay on for 12 months!

vehicle and we went to remove the drain plug and the threads came out with the drain plug. This is an indication of the drain plug was being over tightened on a prior service or weakened over time from being over tightened. Since the purchase of the vehicle it has accrued 31,330 mile on it and should have had several oil changes over that time period in which none were done by Leif Johnson FORD, with the exception of this last service. So on a retail basis the oil pan replacement is over $1,000.00, but to assist her in the replacement of the oil pan it would be reduced to $500.00. This is the recommended repair to do it correctly. [redacted] has also researched other repairs such as an oversize oil plug, Tapping it, and Healy coil. I explained to her these are what we call band aid repairs and we would not do those repairs at our facility. In the event those repairs fail it could lose all oil and cause severe damage to the engine. She has referred to her professional mechanic to me several times, so I extended another offer to her to reimburse up to $100.00 to assist her in having her professional mechanic or any other mechanic to do those repairs for her. I also did emphasize that it is not an effective long term repair and we would not be responsible for any results of that repair. Leif Johnson FORD has not done anything incorrect in this matter and has offered two goodwill assistance options to assist [redacted] in this matter and she was supplied with these two options because she purchased the vehicle from us and we do want to help her in this matter. The offer still stands if she wants to advantage of the opportunity. Regards,[redacted]Leif Johnson FORD###-###-#### Cell

I am rejecting this response because:I am on my honeymoon in Hawaii until Nov 18th there is no way for me to get the vehicle to them until that is over.. and on that note I have taken it into them and they insist nothing is wrong even though I have replaced all the tires and the truck still lists all over the road....
