check was going to his ex-wifes house. Since that time we have not been given a new address to send it to. If Mr. [redacted] can give us a current address we will gladly reissue the check.Thank You, [redacted], Leisers Inc.

I am rejecting this response because:
I asked for written instructions and was told no.  I was not instructed on how to unjam it or prevent it from being jammed.  I was given no safety instructions.
I signed off on nothing of the sort.  They can say they told me how to use it but they only gave me 5% of the needed instructions, anything else is a lie,  and refused to give anything in writing I could refer to when using it which I repeatidly requested.
I want a refund.

Leiser's Rental is in the business of renting tools to the public. Some of these tools are very easy to use and others are very technical and more difficult to use therefore we caution people to know their own limitations. We ask that the person actually...

[redacted] came into Leiser's on 01/21/2014 to rent a soil pipe cutter for cast iron pipe and stated that she was the one that was using it. A soil pipe cutter takes a lot of operator strength to operate and is one of those tools that is not very difficult to operate but is slightly more technical then other tools because if it is not used properly an inexperienced operator could jam the machine and incur a charge of $25 from Leiser's to unjam it. That is why our manager took the time to bring the tool out to the counter and explicitly explain and demonstrate to [redacted] exactly how to use it so that it would not get jammed and she wouldn't get charged an addition $25 to unjam the machine. [redacted] stated that she understood exactly how to use the tool, signed the rental contract and left at 10:30 AM.
One day later on 01/22/2014 [redacted] returned the soil pipe cutter and it was jammed. We asked if she had gotten her job done and she stated that she did not. We offered to unjam the machine for the $25 fee and even offered to let her use the tool in order to get her job done, but she refused our service.
It should be pointed out at this point that this is the correct professional tool for cutting cast iron pipe and Leiser's rents this tool many times yearly to plumbers, handymen and homeowners who have very few problems with jamming.
In summary, Leiser's provided [redacted] with the correct professional tool to complete her job and provided expert hands on advice demonstrating exactly how to use the machine. Leiser's also quoted her the price to unjam the machine. [redacted] had our machine for an entire days rental and returned it jammed. Leiser's even offered to unjam the machine and let her use it to get her job done but she refused. Therefore we feel that we are justified in charging [redacted] $29.15 for a one day rental on the soil pipe cutter. It should also be noted that we did not charge her $25 to unjam the machine, (see contract enclosed)

Review: I rented a tool there to help make job easier to cut iron pipe. They warned it may jam. They spewed all these complicated directions at me on the tool with no manual. I got hurt using the tool before it stopped working and jammed.

I made 1 of my 10 needed cuts and It jammed. I called Leiser's and they were not nice and said they would unjam it for a fee (equal to the tool rental price) if I drove it to them. I found them to be rude.

I ended up having to run to purchase two diamond blade bits to cut the pipe without the tool I drove out of the way to Leiser's to rent. I don't understand why you would rent a tool out that is "known for jamming" (per Leiser's rep), first of all, and second of all without an instruction manual. They would not refund my rental fee. I request a refund for a tool that is not user friendly and should have at least had safety instructions and not be know for jamming!Desired Settlement: Refund of $29.75 rental fee. It was bad enough I wasted my time and gas driving there twice. I will consider that a lesson learned.

I am rejecting this response because:

They are lying again.

I guarantee the video surveillance shows me asking for a written manual, several times, and looking very confused with the quick instructions that were done in mid air and useless. It would show the employees goofing off over the snow and being a little short with me (I was one of the only people on the road so I was disturbing their fun it seemed)

I guarantee the "so called" video surveillance shows me NOT getting instructions on unjamming and only when it was returned the employee stated "these are known for jamming".

I know a lot of people in the community. This company is a bunch of liars (ask for the video!).

I still have an injury from the cutter dropping on me and it would have been nice to have safety instructions!!! I will write to my elected official about a law that would require the manual/written instructions be given out with rentals due to my experience with Leisers (should be called liars).

[redacted] is much better. Never a problem with any place but Leisers.
