Due to Negligence of the service recived on the June 18, 2013 for oil change, I found out that my engine is gone complitly bad.On June 18, 2013 I took my car (2002 Mr2 Spyder) to Leith Toyota for oil change. After two thousend miles driving, the oil light going on and fade out, at this point drove to one of my friend mecanich and found out there is berly oil in the engine.I drove back to Leith Toyota in Raleigh, same day and told them the problem, there rudly refuse to take care the car .After insistin with them , there decide to look at my car .The next day one of the head mechanic [redacted] calls me to give the bad news that the car engine is gone bad, and try to make me an estimate.I refuse to get the estimate, hi told me that there going to involv there insurance to handle the claim. There insurance denied the claim stading that was were and tere issue.(Old Car)The car was on the shop not to long ago and there made a repare for $1350 when I pick up the car there told me evrything is perfect.I have invested a lot of money on that car , most of it I spend to Leith Toyota in Raleigh.I have file for small claaim and im suing them for $5000Please do not fall victim of this company, ther goal is to reep people off and not getting anything done.Every time I have done repare to them it did no last longer due to a cheap job .If you dont belive this, goe there next oil change, and it foes not metter if your car is new or not , there always will find things to take your money.Desired SettlementIm asking Leith Toyota to do full replacment of the engine and make my car runn again the way it was before I brought there for the oil change.Or not$5000 and I will find some one ells honest to fix it .Business Response /[redacted]/We want to apologize to Mr. [redacted] that we have been unable to get his concern resolved to his satisfaction. Our response to his concern is as follows. Leith Toyota performed an oil and filter change to Mr. [redacted]'s 2002 Toyota MR2 on June 18, 2013 with an odometer reading of 135,471 miles. Mr. [redacted] returned the MR2 to Leith Toyota on October 17, 2013 with an odometer reading of 137,167 miles asking us to diagnose the reason the check engine light was illuminated. Leith Toyota determined the cause of the check engine light illumination was a result of water intrusion into a wiring circuit caused by the convertible top leaking water. A wiring repair was performed to repair the check engine light. While the MR2 was in the service department on October 17, 2013 Leith Toyota also replaced a leaking valve cover gasket. The valve cover is on the top of the engine and does not require removal of engine oil to replace the valve cover gasket. On the same repair order a multi-point inspection of the MR2 was completed. On October 17, 2013 our technician noted and our service advisor communicated to Mr. [redacted] the engine timing chain tensioner was leaking engine oil. Mr. [redacted] declined to have Leith Toyota perform replacement of the timing chain tensioner, which would have prevented loss of engine oil. At no time during the repair order write-up or anytime thereafter on the repair order dated October 17, 2013 did Mr. [redacted] communicate an engine noise concern or low engine oil / consumption concern. Mr. [redacted] picked up his 2002 Toyota MR2 on October 24, 2013. On January 7, 2014 with an odometer reading of 138,035 miles, Mr. [redacted] returned his 2002 Toyota MR2 to Leith Toyota for us to diagnosis the reason the check engine light was illuminated. Mr. [redacted] also asked us to diagnose a low engine level- engine noise. Mr. [redacted] stated he had taken his vehicle to another service center and reported to Leith Toyota the other service center told him that they drained very little engine oil out of the engine of his MR2. As a result of the other service centers report to Mr. [redacted] he concluded that Leith Toyota was to blame for the reported engine damage as a result of the oil change Leith Toyota completed on June 18, 2013. To bring this accusation into perspective we should point out the oil change was performed six months ago and the present odometer reading indicates the MR2 has been driven 2,564 miles. In an attempt to diagnose the engine noise Leith Toyota checked the engine oil level reading on the engine oil dipstick. The engine oil level on the dipstick was accurate, meaning the engine had the correct amount of oil in the engine, however Leith Toyota did find a non-Toyota brand oil filter installed. Leith Toyota only uses genuine Toyota parts for Toyota vehiclesAs for the check engine light illumination, Leith Toyota determined the check engine light was caused as a result of a failed air fuel ratio sensor (part of the fuel and exhaust systems) and unrelated to the check engine light concern noted on the repair order dated October 17, 2013. Leith Toyota believes the internal engine noise is caused by an internal failure of the engine. In order for Leith Toyota to be conclusive as to the specific internal engine failure causing the engine noise, Leith Toyota would need to do some engine disassembly. To date, Mr. [redacted] would not (will not) authorize Leith Toyota to conduct further diagnoses to pinpoint the exact cause of the engine noise.Leith Toyota has also taken alternative steps to get a second opinion about our work through our insurance company. Our insurance company adjuster inspected our work to determine if the oil change Leith Toyota performed caused the engine noise. Our adjuster did not find any wronging doing by Leith Toyota that would lead to the engine noise and as a result declined any further responsibility by Leith Toyota. Again, we apologize that we have not been able to reach a solution of customer satisfaction for Mr. [redacted].Final Consumer Response /[redacted]/The response that Leith Toyota give to me is not maken any sense. I do hold responsible for the demage of my car, and yes on January 7 I did replace the oil filter and change oil bicous the car did not have any oil inside , I do have recite for the purchase .Car das not have any oil leak .I have decide to go further with my right to resolve this case in cort , Leith Toyota was my favorite place for taking care of my car but for negligence it turn on nightmare, leaving me with full expend to repare my car.

New issues with Toyota Sienna after simply taking car up their for them to fix recallTo Whom It May Concern,Hi my name is [redacted] I am the owner of a 2007 Toyota Sienna. My vehicle was brought into Leith Toyota off of Capital Blvd yesterday in Raleigh for them to fix the shift lock solenoid assembly which was part of the most recent Toyota recall. They do an inspection of the car and tell us that our power steering fluid is leaking into the dump boot and it's going to cost $1200 to fix it, my husband and I told them we were not interested in getting it fixed. The reason we were not wanting it fixed was because we never saw anything leaking from under the hood of the car and we park in a garage every night and have not had anything on the garage floor. Not to mention we were just at the Firestone in Wilmimgton NC 2weeks ago for an oil change while visiting family out there and they made no mention of anything wrong or leaking, plus we contacted them to make sure it was not an oversight and they assure us it was not. Now this morning after backing the van out of the garage all the sudden we have stuff leaking on our garage floor. We have called and talked to the service manager and they are arguing that they have done nothing to our vehicle. But I find it difficult to believe that the day after we take our vehicle there we now are noticing issues. Very unhappy and looking for any help or guidance. If this is not fixed by them we do plan on finding a lawyer but hope that it does not come to that, we just want our vehicle back to the way it was before we brought it to them. Thanks for Listening!Sincerely,[redacted]Sent from my iPhoneDesired SettlementI want my car fixed, there were no problems prior to going there!!!Business Response /[redacted]/Leith Toyota performed a D0R recall on Mr. & Mrs. [redacted]'s 2007 Toyota Sienna on April 22, 2014 at 76,622 miles. The [redacted]'s Sienna was dropped off at 8:41am and was ready at 12:15pm. The D0R recall involves replacement of the Shift Lock Solenoid Assembly and is paid for by Toyota. Prior to this visit, the last time Leith Toyota had the [redacted]'s Sienna in for service was November 28, 2012 at 61,126 miles. During the April 22, 2014 visit, the [redacted]'s were offered our no cost multi-point visual inspection. This no cost visual inspection has one of our factory trained technicians inspect the vehicle for any safety or maintenance concerns and report their findings in writing to the service advisor. The service advisor then informs the customer of any findings or recommendations. This inspection is optional and is done upon customer approval. The [redacted]'s approved our inspection and one of our Toyota Master Technicians performing the D0R recall found that the [redacted]'s Sienna had power steering fluid leaking into the right side dust boot. When a power steering rack's left or right side seal fails, it begins to leak inside the dust boot. The dust boot is in place to protect the seal from outside containments. As the power steering fluid leaks out of the seal, it breaks down the rubber dust boot and will penetrate the boot causing a leak visible in the air (when on a vehicle hoist) and possibly on the ground depending on the severity of the leak. The service advisor advised the [redacted]'s of our findings and the [redacted]'s declined replacement of the power steering rack. The [redacted]'s picked up their Sienna on the afternoon of April 22, 2014. On April 23, 2014, Mr. [redacted] called back and advised us that he was seeing fluid on his garage floor. Mr. [redacted] acknowledged that the service advisor had informed him of the power steering rack leak and that he had declined replacement. Mr. [redacted] stated he had not seen any fluid on his garage floor before. We offered to have the vehicle brought back in for a visual inspection with Mr. [redacted] present to show him where the power steering fluid leak is coming from. Mr. [redacted] advised he would call us back to bring the vehicle in the same day or on Thursday, April 24, 2014. As of today, April 28, 2014, Mr. [redacted] has not called us back nor has their Sienna been brought back in to do a re-inspection with Mr. [redacted].

I was lied to by two different employees.I had my Toyota Camry at a different shop for a little over two weeks. They stated they could not find the problem with my car. Something had been draining my car battery for the past 6 months. I would be able to drive it for about a week until it would randomly not start again. After I picked it up from this shop, I drove directly to Leith Toyota. I was helped by a Service Representative by the name of "[redacted]" or "[redacted]". She stated that it would probably be a couple days before they could locate the issue due to the previous shop not being able to find it. I was told it was most likely an electrical problem. [redacted] called me, not even an hour after I had dropped my car off, and stated that I would need a new alternator and a new battery. I told her I had a brand new alternator put in about 3 months prior. She told me that this was definitely the problem. I knew this was not the problem because I have had 2 different mechanics check my car within the past couple months and the alternator was not mentioned once. If there was a problem with my BRAND NEW alternator then the previous shop would have told me. Why wouldn't they want the business??? I called her back later and left her a message explaining that I would not be having any work done and would be picking up my car the next day and paying the diagnostic fee of $100.00. I paid this same diagnostic fee to the previous shop. When I went to pick up my car I was told [redacted] was not there that day. I spoke with a different Service Representative, who I cannot remember the name of. I asked him if I could see the diagnostic papers for my car. He hands them to me and it does state that I need a new alternator. However, it does not state that I need a new battery. I asked him why [redacted] would tell me I need a new battery and his response was "I don't know, maybe you misheard her." I said, "I didn't mishear her, she even told me what the price would be for a new factory battery." He then got an attitude with me and said, "Well, I wasn't the one on the phone with you so I don't know what to tell you." At this point I just wanted to get my car and leave. I asked to keep the diagnostic paper and left. I found out later that day that the paper we had been looking at wasn't even the diagnostic sheet. I will never return to Leith Toyota and I will warn everyone I know about how I was repeatedly lied to. Desired SettlementI am asking for a refund of the $100.00 diagnostic fee. I honestly don't believe Leith Toyota even ran a diagnostic test on my car. If they did, why didn't they want me to see it?Business Response /[redacted]/This is the first time we have heard about Ms. [redacted] having concerns with her visit to Leith Toyota on December 3, 2013. According to our service history, this was also the first time Ms. [redacted] brought her 2001 Toyota Camry to Leith Toyota for service. Ms. [redacted] gave our service advisor the following complaint about her 2001 Camry with 193,480 miles: "Customer states vehicle has gone through 4 batteries within the past months-the last two times-vehicle lasted about one week before it would not start." The following is the technician notes after his diagnosis of Ms. [redacted]'s 2001 Camry: "Alternator low charge under load. Vehicle battery tests bad. Recommend replacement. Performed parasitic draw check. Check passed. No excessive draw present. Starter cranking voltage normal. Alternator output is low under load. Recommend replace alternator. Customer declined repair at this time." The battery test printout shows the battery to be "bad" and needs "replacement." The starter test printout shows normal. The charging system test printout shows low voltage output from the alternator. Our repair order shows it was opened at 3:14pm on December 3, 2013. The technician began working on the vehicle at 3:16pm and clocked off the job at 5:17pm recording 2.01 hours working time on Ms. [redacted]'s vehicle. Our labor rate is $98.50 per hour however we only charged Ms. [redacted] the initial diagnostic fee she was quote even though the technician worked on her vehicle twice that amount of time. Ms. [redacted] received a copy of the invoice stating our technician's diagnostic findings when she paid her bill at our cashier's window. Based on the facts of our diagnosis of Ms. [redacted]'s 2001 Toyota Camry, no refund of the paid diagnostic fee is warranted. However, we are willing to review any paperwork Ms. [redacted] has from another facility showing the diagnosis and replacement of any components for the same stated concern dated after December 3, 2013. If Ms. [redacted] supply's this documentation and it differs from our diagnosis/recommendations and her 2001 Toyota is now repaired by another facility, we will gladly refund Ms. [redacted]'s paid diagnostic fee of $108.35 ($98.50 plus shop supplies fee). Our fax number is XXX XXX-XXXX or Ms. [redacted] can email us at [redacted]@leithtoyota.comAdditional documentation including repair order invoices and test printouts are available upon request.

No one has called me to resolve my issue with my car's service and I have made 4 attempts. On Jan. 2 2016 I had a service appointment. I left my car at 8:00 am. At 3pm my husband calls to check the status of my car since no one has called me back. They can not locate the person responsible for my car and no one calls us back. At 4:30 I call and demand to speak to someone regarding my car and they get a hold of another service agent who informs me that may car is done. No one called to approve any of service that they had to do. I go over to retrieve my car and my keys are locked in the car. I come back the next day with a spare to open my car. On Monday, Jan.4th I call to speak to a manager and leave a message Jan 5th I call leave a message. Jan 6th I call leave a message. Finally, I call Jan 7th and speak with a manager who says she didn't hear my messages because she has checked all of them and did not write down my name. I explain the problem and she tells me she will call me back with information. Jan 13th I call to find out the status of what took place with my car and why my windshield wipers were replaced yet they are not functioning properly and the noise I complained about on Jan 2 is still occurring and no one has responded to my call. I checked the website and there is no one else listed in the chain of command to handle this situation. I feel helpless and there is still a problem with my car and no one is handling it.Desired Settlement-I want someone to explain the work done on my car and the outcome of my inspection.-I want someone to replace broken wipers-I want someone to look into the noise that is coming from my car like I wanted done the first time on Jan 2ndBusiness Response Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. We had made several attempts to contact Ms. [redacted] and was able to talk with her on Thursday, January 14, 2016. Ms. [redacted] has scheduled an appointment with us next Tuesday, January 19th to address her scraping noise concern and driver's side windshield wiper concern. Sincerely,[redacted]Leith Toyota Parts & Service DirectorMore Information From Consumer The business is working on resolving the issue. Iam waiting to see if it will be resolved.
