On Friday 11/13/2015 I partook of the services of Lend a Hand to have my Special Needs foster daughter taken care of while I attended my daughter's bachelorette party (an environment I decided was inappropriate for my adult). I dropped her off with the caregiver stating that she had $40 to spend and once it was gone or once it turned 10pm whichever happened first, I would like my foster daughter returned to the room to take her meds and get ready for bed. I handed the caregiver $120 for my individuals care and told her there was $5 extra to cover her gas getting to our hotel ([redacted] Reno). About four days after we returned home two calls were made to my foster daughter's phone( I lost mine in Reno). The firs accused me of failing to make payment for services received, where the woman making the call was extremely rude, accusatory, and unprofessional. The second call she stated that I had given the caregiver $120 but had told her it was to spend on my foster daughter, this is a complete fabrication I never said any such thing and the fact that I monitor my individual's spending by limiting how much I allow her tells you that I would never entrust her with $120 in a casino or any other environment. My individual assures me she did not receive the $120 to spend and knowing her as long as I have I can always tell when she's lying because she's really bad at it. What I believe happened is that the caregiver got carried away in the casino and used the money I handed over on herself. Anyone who knows me will tell you that the one thing I insist upon giving and receiving in my life is complete honesty it's the standard I live by over anything else. I have tried to resolve this issue with Lend a Hand (the lady in charge is called [redacted]) by phone several times but they keep saying she isn't there and so far none of my calls have been returned. [redacted] has however sent me 2 invoices asking for $115.05. I already paid for the service and will under no circumstances be paying again.Desired SettlementI will not pay twice for a service and the original contract (of which I have a copy) has had wording added to it true signs of an in-house cover up.Business Response Contact Name and Title: [redacted], Owner Contact Phone: [redacted]Contact Email: [redacted]After review of this complaint it comes to my attention that due to the client requesting services from out of town an in home assessment was not completed therefore resulting in the company policies and procedures not being clearly understood.Our policy is that the caregiver is not paid directly, can not receive gratuities and services will be billed after received.In this case the client gave us a credit card to bill charges but the credit card was denied.The caregiver understood that the $120 was to be used to allow the client to play games in the casino and arcade. She was with the client for 5 hours and used the money for the client's entertainment.Our caregivers understand our policy and if it was stated that the money was for the bill she would of delivered it to the office. To achieve customer satisfaction the balance on this account will be adjusted and no further contact will be made.
