Lennar Reno Reviews (3)

Approximately two years ago, I purchased a new home in the [redacted] Community built byLennar Homes in Sparks, Nevada. The homes was warrantied against defect in the quality of workmanship for approximately 2 yrs. from the date of purchase. However, on several occasions, I noted several items relating to the quality of workmanship that required service. I contacted Lennar Customer Care Support via their website on numerous occasions, however theirresponse in addressing these issues at times would be timely and at other times there was no response for approximately 2-3 weeks. I then contacted their community sales office at [redacted] and spoke with their sales agent [redacted] who told me that [redacted], their on-site customer care representative was on vacation. In the meantime, there was no alternative person take care of the problems with the purchase of my new home.Several months later, another Customer Care Representative finally contacted me by the name of [redacted] who I met with at my home regarding the fairly recent issue of, 1). A loud banging sound comingfrom the second floor/attic area located on the Southwest corner of my house and 2). The bathroomsink on the second floor the keeps clogging up - No hair or other items are in the sink. All other sinks in all of the other bathrooms do not clogged up, only this sink. [redacted] also looked at the sink and was not sure what was happening either but said, even if your house is out of warranty, we want to honor our commitment to you in providing good customer care and support as we want to make it right. But, if we find out that the sink is clogged due to issue other than defective workmanship, then we will have to charge for this work. I believe that [redacted] is reasonable in his approach to this matter as I cannot say this for [redacted] who refused to do anything whatsoever.Defective quality in workmanship should be addressed accordingly whether the home is in warranty or not or should have been disclosed prior to the sale.Desired SettlementRepair the defect in workmanship and honor the integrity of Lennar HomesBusiness Response First apologies for the late response, a copy of this did not reach my desk until 4-24-2015. 1) the issue of the 'loud banging noise' was determined to be the flapper inside of the exhaust vent for bathroom fans. This can flap when exposed to high winds and create a noise. It is required by code and the manufacturer. 2) the complaint of slow moving water in the second bathroom sink was scheduled multiple times with Lennar's plumber only to be cancelled due to homeowner's schedule would change. Lennar is more than willing to inspect drain and will attempt again to schedule but will need commitment from homeowner to keep the scheduled appointment. It is noted in the 1-2-10 year warranty that plumbing is warranted including drains for a period of two years. The request was recieved after the warranty expired on 11-21-2014, the home closed on 8-22-2014. At the time of closing all plumbing drains ect had been tested, working and reviewed with homeowner at orientation. Again Lennar will attempt to schedule plumber to inspect drain.Note the number posted on the complaint 775-789-3200 is incorrect. It should be 775-825-7733. Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)Final Business Response [redacted] was contacted and the sink was inspected. In dissembling the sink it was found to be clogged with homeowners 'sludge' from use of sink. This was not a Lennar issue and as stated originally to [redacted] he was out of warranty for clogged sinks. As courtesy Lennar cleared trap and and showed [redacted] how to take care of any further issue himself. Final Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)

Purchased a house with the promise of all backyards being done the same have a witness stating such. Upon moving in other neighbors in the area had their back yard done better with better landscaping procedures who did not pay extra. I was told because they had extra dirt they decided to fill in the other houses backyard and clean out there rock but not us I have a group of neighbors who all haven't been treated properly and want their backyards done like the othersDesired SettlementEither remove the extra rocks from our backyards or cover it up with dirt like the others or give us the amount it will cost for us to do it ourselves. Thank youBusiness Response Apologies for this being late, I was out of office for two weeks and just recieved. During my absence the homeowner was contacted via phone by division president and the issue in question was discussed throughly. The homeowner was basically informed of the processes, scopes of work ect and that the issue being discussed was not a warranty issue and no action would be taken on it. All understanding was that the homeowner understood the parameters after the phone conversation and why no further action was being taken. Both parties ended the conversation with a mutual understanding of this.Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)We did speak but it still did not solve the issue and After speaking to all others (I went house to house and found complaints on [redacted] as well) other parties who are dealing with the same issue we are asking more be done. We understand we are in contract but anyone can see clear as day our backyards were not done the same as others. There are also numerous issues with the house and it has been over a month since our walk through and nothing has been done to complete the issues. I hqve contacted other home owners and they are using this complaint number to forward all complaints further so it stays for documentation. All we ask is all issues fixed in a timely manner amd compensation for us having to complete backyard on own or hqving them put the nice dirt they used for the other homes. Thank you for the time in this manner

I purchased a brand new home from Lennar in 2005, and a couple years later the master shower tiles were separating and Lennar came to inspect the shower and decided to replace it. Lennar discovered the rubber lining used for the shower pan under the tile and mud base had razor blade cuts causing water to leak and mold grew in the walls. Lennar replaced the master shower and fixed the mold problem. I thought my master shower issues had been resolved however I was wrong. My master shower again began to have tiles separating and I noticed what appeared to be mold growing from the separating tiles. I used several cleaners to try to get rid of the mold but it kept resurfacing. I thought the new liner that was installed should prevent the water from leaking out this time, and I later found out I was right. However this didn't stop the tiles from separating and the possible mold from growing. I didn't want Lennar touching my shower again, because this was the second shower they incorrectly installed and caused problems. This time I selected my own licensed general contractor to install the shower. During replacement of the shower it was discovered around the base of the shower Lennar used what appeared to be wood to mount the tiles too, which is completely wrong. The wood was severely water damaged and fell completely apart upon touching it (I have photos). I contacted Lennar and provided them with photos and receipts of the shower materials to replace the shower. A Lennar representative advised my case was presented to the board and they declined to cover any costs because they didn't have a chance to replace the shower.Product_Or_Service: master showerDesired SettlementLennar had two chances to install/replace the master shower correctly and failed to do so. I want Lennar to cover all costs, and at the very least a portion of the costs. Thank you.Business Response Lennar Reno did not recieve this request for the shower reimbursement from the homeowner until after the repairs were made. During phone calls and emails to the homeowner it was explained that per the warranty contract they purchased with the home all warranty repairs have to be submitted to Lennar for inspection and determination of the repair if deemed neccessary prior to the repairs, this is clearly printed in the warranty. It was requested of the homeowner to send in documents pertaining to their rebuild of the shower and this was reviewed by senior management. Lennar had no opportunity to inspect or repair the shower issue prior to the homeowner using a non contracted outside contractor and repaired on their own. Based upon the failure of the homeowner to follow the warranty procedure as clearly printed and supplied with the purchase of their home the request was denied. Lennar does make every effort to correct and repair legitimate warranty issues when properly submitted in a timely manner.
