Dear Sirs:Mr [redacted]’s van was driven without oil causing it to lose oil pressure and the motorlocked up. We towed the vehicle into our facility and he was charged $150 for the tow,not $200 as stated in his complaint. The prices quoted for the repair are as follows: the motor was $1400, the labor...

was$1300, fluid and material were $150 and we required a deposit of $1200 which he paidby credit card before we could start looking for a motor. The vehicle is a E350 Super duty van, 5.4 liter. We started searching for a decent motorwhich is hard to find for this type of vehicle. It took approximately 2 months to find onethat we thought was good. We installed the motor around mid July. When we startedthe van there was a valve problem with it so we proceeded to check it out. In order toinstall this motor the entire front of the van has to be removed. It is a very difficult motorto install. After starting the vehicle we realized the motor was not running properly. Afterapproximately a week of checking it out in between other jobs, we took it to anotherfacility that only does internal repairs. That facility, Monongahela Radiator Repair, spent a few weeks working on it in between their jobs. They found three valves had aproblem on the left bank. I am enclosing their invoice for $463.50 for the time they hadchecking it out, which I had to pay out of my pocket. We absolutely never raised theinitial price quoted to Mr [redacted] for this job and our secretary was never rude to himand explained everything that was going on with the vehicle. After August 19, we called the company we purchased the motor from and explainedthe situation and they said they did not have another motor but would try to locate one.Approximately 2 weeks passed and they stated that they could not find another oneand this one was off warranty. This vehicle was never drivable and was never taken onthe road.We had to file a dispute with our credit card company to get a refund for the amount wepaid for the motor. We advised Mr [redacted] of the situation and he said he would locate and send us amotor. We were going to install it at no extra charge and deduct $1400 off of his bill forthe price we were charging him for the motor if we purchased it.He couldn’t find one either and called approximately a month later and said he wasgoing to purchase a new short block, but the heads on neither motor were any good sohe needed a long block. We told him that and he said he would find one and send it tous. He never sent a motor to us and we could never find another one. That’s where things were left and then he called stating he wanted all of his depositback plus some. He said if we didn’t return his money that he would bring people outand picket my business. He came the other night and picked up the vehicle with a tow dolly and spoke with theowner of Monongahela Radiator shop who explained everything we tried to do and alsowhat he tried to do to repair the vehicle. The first motor we installed was still in thevehicle when he took it.The next day he called and spoke with our mechanic, **, and apologized and said hehadn’t realized everything we did and spent out of our pocket to try to repair the vehicle. He also said he was going to call the Revdex.com and cancel the complaint but we wanted toanswer the complaint and explain our side of the story.

Review: Hi, I am reporting Lenzi Service Station for charging me $200.00 to towmy Boom/man lift Van to their repair shop. They looked at it and said the motor was bad. They offered to replace it with a good running used motor with 80K miles for $3,000.00 dollars. I excepted their offer and they wanted half down so I paid them. It took about 2-3 months for them to come to the conclusion that the used motor was also bad and was in no way a good running engine. They offered to charge me more to fix the used engine they had already promised was in good condition. So now the bill goes up again. I say go for it I need my van, I have workers with families depending on it to go out and make a living. They took about 2-3 more months to decide the junk motor they put in my van was not repairable. They have not been responding to my calls now. I'm from Illinois so its hard for me to just go there. They have been very rude to me and now they have my van and my $1200 dollars. So now I must travel to Pennsylvania just to see if my van is even still there. They worked on it for 11 months supposedly. I think they thought they were building a space station instead of repairing an engine.Desired Settlement: I would like a full refund and the release of my van.It would also need towing at their expense to a well known shop to have the engine replaced.

Review: To go along with this primary issue of an improper or inferior repair, they are also excessively delaying making the repairs correct. It all started on 4/9/15, almost one month ago, when we were charged $1,669.50 for repairs to my daughter's 2009 Saturn Ion car that was involved in an accident. The repairs on the vehicle included two headlamps, grille, AC condensor, radiator, radiator fan, radiator support, and hood with latch, all used parts per my request (I have the full bill and breakdown). The labor charge was $570 to complete the work, but when my daughter picked up the car, I was at work and couldn't see it. I paid for it over the phone assuming that the repairs were completed per normal customer expectations. That weekend, my daughter came home and I looked at the car: the hood had been SPRAY-PAINTED, not professionally painted or clear-coated; the hood was misaligned with the rest of the car (both fenders)...one side was higher than the other; the driver's side headlamp was ZIP-TIED into the housing, not held in place by the metal brackets that were supposed to be there (the passenger headlamp was installed correctly); the grille was completely missing even though they charged me for it; and there was spray paint overspray all over the engine bay, on the hood, and on the roof of the car (red color).

I called them and took it back that Monday (4/13/15) because they were closed by the time I saw all of these issues. They told me they'd make it right and get back to us. All week went by with no phone call and no communication. I stopped by that week and the car wasn't touched. I went back the following week - meanwhile I am losing time at work driving my daughter to college classes and work - and spoke to a mechanic named [redacted]. He made the repair on the headlamp to my satisfaction, and also aligned the hood properly. He also had PART of the grille installed, but the rest of it wasn't there. He told me he'd personally call me and let me know when the appointment could be made with the body shop to get the hood repainted and the grille installed. That following week, my daughter went back in and dropped the car off (Wednesday, April 29, 2015). [redacted], the office manager, told her that it would be done by Friday, May 1, 2015. Friday came and went, I called Saturday May 2nd...still not done. I called Monday, May 4th, still not done.

I have been EXTREMELY reasonable and patient. They aren't doing this to make me happy, they're fixing it because of the ridiculous and shoddy repair job in the first place almost a month ago after taking my money. They have been rude, they haven't been communicating, they haven't returned ANY phone call they promised to return, and I haven't heard a single peep from [redacted] the mechanic who told me to my face he'd be in communication.

We want the car back, fixed correctly per normal repair expectations of any other body shop on the planet. We didn't ask for spray paint, and we didn't EXPECT spray paint. We want the grille that they said was on order that still hasn't been replaced. I have done tons of business with this place, and the treatment we're receiving and the work being done here is so far below any normal standard that I will never return. They need to refund me the labor charge because it wasn't done properly, and they've made my daughter wait without a car for WEEKS. I haven't yelled at them, called them names, threatened them, or anything else. I have been a model customer with them, but this repair work is abysmal and, I would think, embarrassing for them. Totally unacceptable for the amount they charged.Desired Settlement: I also want a signed statement apologizing for this treatment, and a statement proving the work was done in case further action has to be taken. At this point I don't trust that the car hasn't been sabotaged, and my daughter is my primary concern. I have put a stop payment on my credit card and filed a complaint with Visa. I've called and filed a complaint with the regional attorney general's office. Now I'm filing a complaint with the Revdex.com. The "paint and materials" charge to us was $300 - that needs refunded because they certainly didn't do $300 worth of spray paint on the hood (and also left out the clear coat, and also did NOT remove the scuffs or marks from the lower bumper or replace the grille). Once this is done, I'll be out of their hair for good. They will never see me there again.
