In regards to the complaint by [redacted], Leo Movers feels it has addressed the complaint sufficiently and has determined it to be invalid. Upon receiving the complaint, the owner of Leo Movers personally went out to inspect alleged damage caused by the movers. He did...

not see anything caused but the move but agreed to send out independent furniture repair specialist. The independent speciallst with over 20 years experience in antique furniture repair determined that all scratches were pre-existing and could not have been caused by Leo Movers. Specialist mentioned that [redacted] offered to pay him for extra work if he sided with her. This is a false complaintsSincerely,Brant B

 Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:

Only part of what [redacted]'s response is true.  He inspected my furniture prior to the move.  The day of the move I contacted him before his employees left my home advising him about the damage.  A couple days later he came to my home & I pointed out the damages.  He had a representative from [redacted]'s Furniture Refinishing come to my home & he looked at all of the items damaged & said he would submit a quote to [redacted]. When [redacted] did not respond I had a friend contact him on my behalf. He stated that [redacted] from the furniture repair company stated that the damage in question was pre-existing. I then contacted [redacted] myself & he stated that he "did not say that".  I asked him what it was going to cost to repair the damaged items & he told me that was between him & [redacted].
Again, the only thing that I want from Leo Movers is to either fix the items that his employees damaged or replace them with something comparable if any of the items are beyond the scope of repair.  If you feel the need to contact [redacted]s's Furniture Refinishing you can reach the owner, [redacted], at ###-###-####.  His email address is [redacted]furniturerefinish@[redacted].net.  His website address is WWW.[redacted]furniturerefinishing.com

I have not been able to get this company to respond to anything.  They will not repair the items they damaged & I have not been provided any information about the insurance that the company carries. As a result I am not able to file a claim with them either. What is the next step? If he continues to stonewall my claim with your agency are you able to get the information for his insurance carrier so I can file a claim with them?  Your assistance is truly appreciated .

 Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:Leo Movers indeed did attempt to work with me to come to a settlement.  Unfortunately, the company caused over $13,000 in damages by carelessly storing and transporting our furniture; they even lost some pieces outright.  They did connect me with their insurance company and this is when the problem compounded.  When I presented my claim to [redacted] (thier insurance company) I was offered a settlement in the amount of $1,250 which represent 10% of my claim.  When I explained that Leo Movers promised "full coverage" and "replacement cost", the insurance company stated that Leo Movers only had basic coverage which pays $0.60 per pound for damages.
Based on feedback from the [redacted] Utilities Commission or PUC (regulates movers in **), Leo Movers were to offer me insurance options and provide state mandated literature that explained their responsibilities and mine as to insurance options.  This literature was never furnished and Leo Movers advised me they were fully insured and never offered alternatives. Leo Movers were negligent from the point of sale through pick-up, storage and delivery.  They did not follow procedures outlined by the PUC and therefore I am also filing a formal complaint with the authority as well.
Please let me know if you need nay additional information in filing this complaint to assure future consumers are protected from the unprofessional practices of Leo Movers.

Review: On July 25th, I was at Leo Movers & Storage to add a desk to my storage unit for my older son. Brant, the owner, met us at the facility and he and my sons carried the desk (it was no together) to an area where he said that he would make sure that it was put into our unit later. I then used Leo Movers on Saturday, August 2nd to move my son from my apartment in [redacted], PA to his apartment in [redacted], NJ. As the men were leaving, after taking everything off of their truck, we noticed that the desk was not on the truck. One of the moving men called Brant and he assured me that he would look for the desk and get back to me.

As of today, September 2nd, I have not heard from him. I have sent numerous e-mails and left messages, but have not received a response back. The move to [redacted] cost me approximately $520. They have lost the desk that was supposed to be put in storage for my son - who has just started out in a teaching job and was looking to have that desk in his new apartment and now he has none.Desired Settlement: In one of my e-mails to Brant, I asked him to refund me $200 so that my son could purchase a new desk for his apartment.

I think this is a fair price and am asking for $200 to replace the item that Leo Movers lost. Again, as of today, September 2nd, I have not heard back from him. I would like to get this resolved as soon as possible.

Review: On May 23, 2014, Leo Movers & Storage arrived at our home for a scheduled move. Mr. Brant B[redacted], owner, previously came to our home, inspected the contents and sent us a quote which we agreed upon. He satisfied us with the knowledge that his company was insured and bonded. Prior to the move, I called the office to officially notify them that our new home had hardwood floors throughout and they needed to take every precaution not to damage the floor.During this move, there was a sofa bed that was to be moved into a room on the first floor. There were two less experienced movers who were trying to push this item into the room. There was a more experienced employee who was in another room as was my husband and myself. When he saw what was happening, he stopped them and helped them get this sofa bed into the room without any problem. However, at that point it was too late and our beautiful hardwood floor was damaged. When I called Mr. B[redacted] about this damage, he sent [redacted] from [redacted] Furniture Refinishing to look at the floor. [redacted] told Mr. B[redacted] that there were nine boards that would need to be replaced. He also told Mr. B[redacted] that this would be a costly project. Mr. B[redacted] said he was going to look for a less expensive company. I did not hear from him. During this time, I have made many phone calls to Leo Movers & Storage and spoke to Karen, his secretary who said she always puts the notes on his desk. On one occasion that I did speak to him, I said I was going to write a complaint to the Revdex.com. he then said to use whomever I wanted to fix the floor and he would take care of the matter. I had Feasterville Floor come over and they wrote a proposal up of $911.00 to replace the nine boards. He then sent me an email saying this amount was too high and he thought the fair thing was for us to cover some of the cost. We offered to pay $111.0 which is the cost of the wood. We have not heard from him since.Desired Settlement: We would like him to pay for the damage done to our floor by his employees.

Review: During the move they damaged a large [redacted] solid Cherry wood desk. The desk top was pulled away from the base. I also found a huge gash in the back of the desk when I moved it away from the wall they had placed it against. They damaged an [redacted] triple dresser. There were multiple gouges in it. My daughters full size sleigh bed and triple dresser were also severely damaged. The sleigh bed has splits in both the head & foot board. Decorative carvings on the posts are gouged. The assembled my poster bed & a week later it fell apart. They damaged one of the matteress/box spring supports. The entire time (6 hours) the moving men complained & cussed. I had to apologize to the neighbors at my old address as well as apologize to my new neighbors that I was just meeting for the first time. I called the company representative before the men even left & told him (Brant Billingsley) everything that had happened. He told me to write the damages on the receipt. I told him about the complaining & profanity. He came to survey the damages a few days later. He gave me the name of a furniture restoration contractor & he would have it fixed. After the contractor submitted his estimate to Brant, Brant said he would not fix the furniture that the contractor told him it was pre-existing. I contracted the contractor myself, [redacted] Furniture Refinishing in [redacted] PA & he stated that he did not say that & the only thing he did was submit the quote to Brant.

I have left multiple messages for Brant to call me. He never has. I emailed him...no response. He has made no attempt to contact me or fix my furniture.Desired Settlement: I would like my furniture repaired. If beyond repair, then replaced.
