In response to the complaint made by [redacted] of the events that happened on the evening of February 13, 2016 we would like to say that on that evening we were called to the interstate by the State Police to remove two vehicles that had slid off the on ramp creating traffic hazard. on the scene the State Trooper advised us that a tow truck has been called for the vehicle on the off ramp, belonging to the daughter [redacted], he was told by the wrecker company they would be over an hour getting there and the State Trooper was not willing to wait that long because of the hazard on the interstate. He advised us to pull the vehicle out, and the customer would have to pay us and the customer would have to be reimbursed by their insurance company. While pulling the vehicle out, Mr. [redacted] arrived by trying to drive up the off ramp on the interstate. He was stopped by the fire department, then proceeded to yell and scream at our wrecker driver, then was told by the State Trooper that our company was removing the vehicle, that he was not willing to wait for who they had called and he was causing more of a safety hazard by standing in the road way and to please go back to his car. The our wrecker driver recovered the vehicle and asked the customer to meet him at the end of the ramp in a safe location while our company recovered the second vehicle off the road. The other "local" man that was involved was not provided free service, he was provided a discount due to him being on the fire department as our company does all EMS, Police, fire and dispatch employees. He was charged 150.00 a copy of the invoice can be provided if need be. Our company did not, and would not take advantage of a 17 year girl , or any customer for that matter. When told there would be a charge, before a dollar amount was even mentioned, Mr. [redacted] refused to pay anything and said to our driver "what are you going to do about it"  That was when the "calling the police" statement was made by a member of the Fire Department on scene not by our driver. The driver did advise Mr. [redacted] that if he did refuse to pay for our services the vehicle would be placed in our impound yard until it could be paid for which is standard practice for any towing company. In conclusion, we feel our company, and driver, did absolutely nothing wrong , dishonest or out of the ordinary, we were simply doing as we were told by the State Police Department and keeping the highway clear to prevent more accidents from happening. The particular location which this happened is one of the most dangerous sections of the interstate in this country, it is also the location of a massive record breaking pile up that happened just about a year ago involving over 180 vehicles, this may have been the reason the State Trooper was unwilling to wait and called the closet company to the scene.
