Leonardtown Ford Reviews (3)

Review: My father is 94 years old and is suffering from Alzheimer’s Disease. On June 29, 2013 he went to Leonardtown Ford in Leonardtown, Maryland. He was there to have his 1996 Ford F-150 serviced. When the cost of service was going to be more than my father was willing to spend he decided to leave. In the process, he was contacted by multiple associates and ended up buying a used 2008 Ford F-150 for $25771.38. The 2008 Ford F-150 had 86,838 miles on it and the blue book value is only approximately $10,000. My father was talked into trading in his 1996 Ford for a value of $4000, and placed another $4000 on his credit card. The remainder was paid via a six-year installment loan with [redacted] that Leonardtown Ford obtained on my father's behalf. He was not in any condition to sign legal paperwork due to his Alzheimer’s (we have medical paperwork to confirm the diagnosis from his doctor). It appears the sales representative was **. [redacted] and the financial representative was [redacted].

My father informed me that he does not understand the paperwork he signed, does not recall how the sale occurred, and has no desire for the truck. We have hired an attorney who sent a demand letter via Fed Ex to the Resident Agent, [redacted] at [redacted] Maryland [redacted] which was served on August 1, 2013. Although the attorney received a phone call from [redacted], manager at the Leonardtown Address, the demand has past its 30 days. In that phone call with **. [redacted], he admitted to having other associates “evaluate” my father for competency because he wanted to prevent any issues with his sale. Clearly, the dealership knew they were dealing with someone of not sound mind.Desired Settlement: Cancellation of the sales contract, return of my father's 1996 Ford F-150 or payment of $4,000 in lieu, and refund of all other payments including credit card charge and loan opened with [redacted] by Leonardtown Ford on my father's behalf.

Review: Bought a 2013 Ford Fusion. During negotiation we agreed on (4) add ons. (1) remote starter, (2) diamond bright interior/exterior protection, (3) rear spoiler, and (4) the navigation system. Upon picking up the car after the diamond bright, spoiler, and remote starter were installed , the service person came out to install the SD card for the navigation. He then noticed that the vehicle was not equipped for the navigation and/or the SD card. After having them realign the rear spoiler and doing a poor repair job on the trunk latch cover reinstallation, which I'll correct myself, they ask if I was a satisfied customer. I informed them that I would be if I had gotten the navigation system I was promised. They informed me that the navigation didn't make it to the "We Owe" paperwork with the other (3) items. I would of not purchased this vehicle without the navigation incentive . They informed me that the cost of the navigation was between $1500.00 to $2100.00 depending on what person I was talking to. They offered to put up sum of the expense , almost a third, for the nav.system. I feel that since the Sales Manager ([redacted]), who made the deal should supply this Nav system at His/Fords expense. But now He's not quite sure if he remembers that part of the deal. Why would he have the service tech try to install the SD card if I wasn't to get the Nav. system? I feel ripped off by Leonardtown Ford and will do my best to let the world know how they cheated me. Thanks for your time.Desired Settlement: Installation of Navigation system as promised to me as a purchasing incentive at no cost to me.

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:

I am aware of the fact that the "we owe sheet" does not have the navigation on it, which I believe is at the fault of **. [redacted] and myself for not noticing it missing. We ,**. [redacted] and I, know that I was to have this installed. Why would he of had his service tech.attempt to plug in the usb card to load the navigation into console port ? And at that point we were informed the car was not equipped for the navigation system. They did offer to help with the cost of the system, but the pricing I got varied from something like $800-$2100. Depending on whom I spoke to. I feel that the price that they would come up with will be their cost and I would save on the mark up. But why should I have to pay anything for something that was suppose to be included in the price negotiations anyway?

I felt compelled to do my business at a local dealer which I've bought from in the past to support my community. Relying on good neighbor values and trustworthiness. I know I have no paper work to stand behind me, but I was counting on the integrity of **. [redacted] and Leonardtown Ford to come through.

Review: In March 2014, I test drove a used [redacted] truck with Leonardtown Ford Used Car; after many sales pitches, promises I reluctantly decided to purchase the vehicle with the agreement with the Used Car Sales manager [redacted]. The agreement was made that the dealership would pay off my current [redacted] truck for $1500.00 and I would be able to keep the truck in my possession; I would put down $650.00 and finance the rest of the purchase price. During the purchase, the manager noted that there were air bag lights coming on and he would send the vehicle to a local [redacted] dealership to be fixed. After the sales paperwork was completed I received over 20 calls from the finance company on my 1st truck stating they had not received payment; this continued for over 2 months! Leonardtown Ford never sent the money to the bank to pay off the truck however they were calling me to come to the dealership to make the first payment on the new truck that was purchased. They continuously refused to give me proof of payment to the 1st trucks bank. after 2.5 months, they finally paid the truck off and I received paperwork from the bank showing that the loan was satisfied. However it put a mark on my credit report for late payments they were going to repo my 1st truck if it wasn't paid in 2 weeks. Then once I went to see the Asst. Manager [redacted] and paid the 1st payment on the new truck, they apparently never sent that payment to the NEW finance company! The payment was made to the dealership on April 18th and [redacted] stated he would email my wife with a receipt the next day because the accounting department was closed; on May 30th they still could not give me proof of payment. In the beginning of May I called the new finance company to make my second payment over the phone and they would not take the payment since Aprils had never been made! I have visited the dealership, met with Jessie the GM, spoken with the Manager [redacted], & [redacted] several times and told him to deal with my wife because I want to bring the truck back and cancel the sale. As of today, we are still getting the run around and they are still not showing proof that the check has been sent to the finance company. The truck also had minor issues with the back door locks and windows not functioning, and a failing towing sensor. They gave us the run around about that getting fixed as well and waited so long to get it fixed that we ended up having to pay 75.00 to the dealership to have it fixed! That should have been fixed before the truck was sold.Desired Settlement: We would like a formal letter written to the credit reporting agencies showing that the late payments are due to their neglect and for me not to be held at fault for not paying my payments. If they cannot show proof of the payment, then We would like to have the sale cancelled and removed from my credit.
