The Manager called both [redacted] & her daughter & refunded the amount they paid for the repair & he apologized for the problem.
Review: On August 4, 2014, my grandmother, [redacted], purchased four new tires for her 2002 [redacted] with 23,934 miles (License: [redacted]) from the Les Schwab Tire Center (Store: 627). Just over a month later, on September 17, 2014, my husband returned my grandmother's car to the same Les Schwab Tire Center for two flat tire repairs. Both drivers' side tires were loosing air, and my husband discovered problems with the valve stems leaking (or sealing). My grandmother was left with an unreliable vehicle parked in her garage that she couldn't trust after buying new tires (which, by the way, was the first time she's had to do this herself since my grandfather passed away). Les Schwab kept my grandmother's car for a couple hours, then called and said the car was ready to be picked up. The service guy said something to the effect of "the rear tire having corrosion due to using fix-a-flat previously" which had never occurred. The car has less than 25,000 miles on it; and my grandmother bought the car brand new. Regardless, at least the car was fixed and my grandmother could use her car again as she wanted. So we thought anyways... we got the car home, and my husband checked the tires again "just to be sure" since this was a serious problem for our grandma, and because of the lousy excuse about the so-called corrosion. Sure enough, the rear tire was still leaking, and would have been flat again within two days leaving my grandmother stranded. My husband called Les Schwab Tire Center immediately and was told, "well, if you want to bring the car back, we could look at it again." It was unbelievable to us that Les Schwab Tire Center had let us pick up the car assuming the repairs were done. At no time were we told the rear tire still leaked. The next morning, my husband took my grandmother's car to [redacted] and their service was exceptional. They confirmed the rear left tire leaked and fixed it.Desired Settlement: The cost to repair the left tire leak on our grandmother's car at the [redacted] (Customer Invoice:[redacted]) totaled $21.00. This expense was incurred after my grandmother purchased new tires at the Les Schwab Tire Center totaling $391.44 (Work Order: [redacted]), and their advertised guarantee of "lifetime free flat repairs." Les Schwab Tire Center should be ashamed, and owe our grandmother a written apology for taking advantage of her, and for risking her safety.
