Les Schwab Tire Center #634

Review: I went to the Folsom Office Les Schwab Tire Center to have my brakes inspected. They took off the tires and quoted me the repair cost ($486.00) for back brakes. I told them this was too much and to just put the cars tires back on and would return on payday (2 weeks later). They said OK, hung up and called me back 15 minutes later. When they called back, they said my left rear stud broke off when they took my tire off, as someone had used anti-seize on the vehicle. I asked why they did not tell me that when they gave me the quote, 15 minutes earlier, and they said that they forgot. They then wanted to charge me $75.00 to replace the stud that they broke. The manager came out, I told hin the same thing, he shook his head and walked away. I left, with the broken stud in my hand and one less stud on my car. I bought my tires at American Tire company and asked them if they used anti-seize and they said no. They said Les Scwab should have just fixed it for nothing and then they said they will fix it for nothing anyway. They do not fix them at American Tire Co., so they invoiced it out to have it fixed. I then went to another repair shop who did both my back and front brakes, an oild change and repaired the stud freeall for less than what Les Scwab was going to fix my back brakes for. They broke I, would not fix it and the manager walked away without saying a work (shook his head). Extremely poor customer service, wasted hours of my time and did not fix their mistake. Worst customer service ever and they cannot be trusted to even check your brakes, let alone fix them!

Would like an appology for their terrible customer service and wasting hours of my time...maybe $75.00 towards carwashes as that is the amount they were tring to rip me off and I did waste hours of my time.

Business' Initial Response

The above did ask us to check his brakes and yes a stud broke while we were removing wheels to check brakes (which was not our fault). He opted to go elsewhere for work on his brakes. He states another company put his tires on & used never- seize which should never be done & obviously cross threaded the lug nut causing it to break upon removal. Not our fault that his tire place does not fix studs causing him to go somewhere else.

When they called me and told me the cost for my brakes, I thought it was too high. I told them to just put my tires on and they said OK; they never mentioned that my stud was broken. When I got their to pick up my car, they THEN said that my stud broke when they took of my tire, If that was true, why did they not mention my stud was broke when they initally called and told me the cost to repair my brakes? They told me when I went to pick up the car, and not earlier. They lied. When I took my car and wnet to two other places, they both said they would fix it for free and they BOTH told me Les Schwabb should have fixed it. I do not accept their explanation, nor do I believe them. Also, why did the manager shake his head and walk away without even speaking? I do not need anything from them, but I do want the public to know how BAD their customer service is...He is a manager to protect his people, not to provide customer service to customers.
