Review: Repair that was not needed, was charged for labor when we were told that they would not. We had to pay for extra parts that were not needed.

05/20/13 - Took our van and requested for a Tie Rod and an Rock & Pinion repair. Was told that the Rack & Pinion was OK and that the power steering pump needed to be replaced. Was assured twice that the rack & pinion was OK and that the power steering pump was the problem. Left the van all day for the repair. 05/21/13 - Was contacted and told that the power steering pump replacement did not fix the problem and that the rack & pinion now needed to be replaced. Reached an agreement to pay for the parts but was told that the cost of labor would not be charged because of the mix up. Left the van for another day. 05/22/13 - Received the van back with the repairs complete. Made a visual inspection and the job was not complete. The repair person had failed to secure some safety clamps. The power steering pump was making some noise as well. We took the van back to be inspected. After another 2 hours we were called and told that the power steering pump had developed a leak on one of the seals and that it had been fixed. After reviewing the invoice we noticed that they had charged for labor even after they told us that they would not. We also had to pay for parts that were not needed. Desired Settlement: We would like a refund for the labor charges that they told us that they would not charge. We understand that there is a cost for parts, but would like to pay the cost of parts and not the retail price for the parts.
