Cornerstone Mechanical installed a new furnace and AC in May At the conclusion of the install, the technician told me that there was no power to the external AC unit, and that I would need to hire an electrician to fix the issue I contacted an electrician at Cornerstone's recommendation, who performed a diagnostic and indicated that there were no issues with the electrical wiring of the house, and that the issue appeared to be with the AC unit itself After several calls not being returned and two instances of a technician no-show, Cornerstone finally sent a technician to investigate This tech (different from the one who did the initial install) discovered that the AC unit had been installed improperly by them in the first place, and that the electrician's diagnostic was unnecessary In talking to multiple people at Cornerstone, they seemed to be in agreement that it would be reasonable to reimburse me for the electrician's diagnostic fee ($189) However, I have cal

This company installed an AC unit and offered a warranty on the unitThey serviced it in June of for complaint of water condensation and back up, and was supposed to fix the issueAnother company came out and determined it was never installed to code and the issue for the service call was never completed because condensation was built up and leaking into the floorIt needs to be reinstalled and properly! The other company even stated it wasn’t leveled in addition to not being installed to code

The guys are great mark and les good company

Please do not use this company under any circumstancesIf you are looking for a HVAC company, there are plenty of other reputable companies to choose from If you are interested in why we gave this company a failing grade and no recommendation, please read the followingWhat we paid for was a furnace service before winter started What they did was come into our home and disassemble our furnace They then told us the heat exchanger was deteriorating and starting to crack and told us that they could not put the furnace back together because it was a safety hazard They told us it needed to be replaced immediately So we really had little choice but to contract with them to replace both the furnace and the A/C unit (package deal) What we found out later is that reputable HVAC companies will start an inspection with a fiber optic camera and then ask permission before disassembling if neededThey were asked if they were licensed to perform this work and they indicated they were They were asked if they intended to obtain a building permit from the City (as required) and they said yes, they would and that it would be inspected after installationThey indicated the furnace had a really good warranty and that they would register it when they pulled the furnace from their inventory They also said they would warranty their work for one year Based on their representations, we allowed them to install the furnace and A/C unitsAll of their representations to date have been in our opinion falseWe have been contacting them since the week after install (11/11/16) to follow up on the permit, installation, inspection and warranty information requests and have gotten nowhere They did not pull a permit for the furnace and AC units When contacted about the permit, the owners, Josh and Ryan, kept saying that the permit needed to be pulled through the city of Denver and that “Denver handles all the permits for the surrounding suburbs.” So we contacted the city of Denver, which told us that the municipalities and cities in the suburbs are in charge of and conduct their own inspections In a call with Josh, he stated that they did not have a licensed mechanical engineer to do the inspection and that they were trying to get a licensed engineer from another company to do the inspection We looked up the name that Josh mentioned and it turns out the person is a licensed apprentice not a licensed engineer Furthermore the company is not licensed to do permitted work in the city of Denver and it appears that the owners are not licensed mechanical or electrical contractors We contacted the city we live in and they do not appear to be licensed to do this work in my City (searched approved City contractor database and called City Building Department to check) and they have not yet obtained the required building permits for the installation We contacted six municipalities in the area and the company is not registered to do permitted work in any of them We have searched the State Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) licensee database to see if the two owners we have dealt with (one of them was on our install crew) are even licensed contractors and they do not appear to be licensed here in Colorado Also the Secretary of State’s website shows the company registered with the state in June of yet on the *** website it says the company has been in business for years Talking with the former owner of the company, the company has only been around since the summer of Because this is a health and safety issue and we had not heard back from Josh and Ryan in over three weeks regarding the permit and inspection, we have had to take matters into our own hands and pull a permit as the homeowner The city inspected the unit immediately and it did not pass the inspection And since Cornerstone is not licensed in our city, we had to contract with a licensed HVAC contractor to fix the deficiencies at additional cost The cost for the permit, the cost to fix their deficiencies, and the cost of our time and effort have far exceeded the cost of the installation of the furnace and AC unitsNow we are out double the cost!
Regarding the invoice, we asked for a detailed invoice outlining the make/model and warranty information for the furnace and A/C they installed (their invoice was generic and included no information on the make/model of units they installed or any warranty information) What they provided was a picture of the tag from inside the furnace with the serial and model number They indicated that they registered the units with the manufacturer when they installed them A phone call to the manufacturer indicated it hadn't been registered at all and we wound up registering the unitsTruth is, most of their representations to us appear to be false, in our opinion Repeated calls and emails to the owners have had no positive results In fact, we have been told, in writing, that they will get to our issues at their convenience When talking with Ryan about customer service, his response was that “customer service is not a strong point of his.” That is the only true statement he has made to usTheir responses to our repeated requests for information, status updates, or deadlines for the permitting and inspection of this work have deteriorated and become more and more unprofessional The installation of a gas furnace is a health and safety issue and proper installation and inspection is critical for the safety of our family Do your research and I wouldn't recommend these guys to anyone!

Purchased a service maintenance agreement from companyWhen furnace started making a strange noise, I tried calling to make an appointment on March The number provided for service was out of serviceThe number provided on the company's website never picks up and disconnects with no ability to leave a messageI've tried different email address (one from the website, one on the invoice) with no response as of March

Cornerstone Mechanical installed a new furnace and a new air conditioner on or about 12/6/at my residenceThey informed me that they could not charge the air conditioner unit because the temperature was to lowI agreed that this was a reasonable delay and agreed to have them come back in the spring to charge the unitNow they are apparently out of business, and there is no way for me to contact themNor have they contacted me to fulfill their obligationNow, I do not have functioning air conditioning , nor do I have any resolution paths as to any warranty they provided

AJ was good tech on time friendly. He asked questions and did what he said he was going to do
