***, I have attached a copy of the proposal that states things the price doesn't includeDoug and the guys did do additional work above & beyond at your home and didn't charge you for them because you had stated you wanted to go as cheap as possibleWe replaced some top railing boards and some posts for your railing that where to bad to re install, Siding repair and more and didn't charge you for itThe skid deck paint was to be done at a later date due to weatherThe deck boards have to season and dry out for a min of months or it wont last very long and you will have to re due it soonerAlso there is nothing stated in the proposal that we are to stain the deck only to "Install new riser treads to be pained with a non skid deck paint"As far as text messages go we didn't receive it until we put your number in and it pulled it outWe do work in places that cause us not to have phone service and I do apologize for that We do apologize for the not getting a hold of you soonerWe where un aware of the problems that have occurred

I am rejecting this response because: To whom it may concern, Since there wasn’t a link attached in the below response, I thought I would forward this to include my response. First of all, I recall having a conversation with Doug (while standing on my deck) regarding the non-skid stain on my deck because I feel on the old deck and when I mentioned it to Doug, he brought up using the non-skid stain or paint that was going to be used. He mentioned that it was going to be dark brown in color which is what I wanted. Also, I have a hard time believing that only the riser treads were going to be stained and not the whole deck I am still uncertain, does he mean only the steps to the deck?) I really don’t think paying $8,dollars is being cheap. I would have never paid the total amount (of $8,000.00) knowing that I would have to finish the job myself. I was also never told that the boards have to sit in our wet climate for a minimum of months before being able to stain the cedar boards. It has been only months since the new cedar boards have been installed and the amount of time it has taken me to try and clean the mold and mildew (black stains) off before having to sand the remainder of the stains off is ridiculous. I can only imagine if I would have waited another minimum of months as you stated below, how much worse the deck would be. I communicated with Doug only by text while he was working on my deck so I don’t understand how he states he never received my two texts (first one on March 31st, and second one on April 21st) until he put my number in and pulled it out??? I was very clear in both the texts that I sent of the concerns I was having in both the repairs that needed to be done and the stain that I was still waiting on. It has been just shy of weeks since my first text asking for a response. I honestly feel that if I was a man, I would have never been blown off and he would have responded right away. *** ***
