Let's Talk Therapy

My Nonverbal Autistic Son has received his Speech Therapy Services from Let's Talk Therapy-Duluth location since November 2018. His Speech Therapist Camille is so knowledgeable about the ST Services he should receive. Although our son is Nonverbal she has taken the time to program the TouchChat App on his Communication Device to make it age appropriate and user friendly for our son.
I actually had a tour of this facility by the owner-Mr Teddy. He was very welcoming and explain the various therapies that take place in the various rooms. I was very impressed with the Sensory Room, it contains many activities that will address our son Sensory Processing Disorder. The whole facility is bright, have children themes and was extremely clean. Every time we bring our son to his twice weekly staff, I always observe the Maintenance Staff vacuuming and wiping down the chairs and cleaning the toys/other items in the Children Movie Waiting Area.

Two years ago we requested services from the Duluth location. This location was filthy, paint chipping off the walls and sprinklers falling off the ceiling.
We tried to bypass this and continue to our first session. The therapist we were assigned proceeded to grab my son's cheeks without washing her hands nor using gloves and stuck her finger abruptly into my son's mouth. At that time he was 5 or 6 years old. I contacted the director of operations regarding the experience he didn't seem to have a problem with the filthy carpet or sprinklers at all and tried to argue with me. Needless to say, we discontinued services.
2 years later, today, I wanted to see the remodeled location and see if the placed had changed for the better. The place was still dirty, and smelled funny. The director gave me a tour and was extremely rude to me. He tried to argue about my previous experience again -about the carpet. Talking to me very slowly as if I didn't speak the language and said it looked filthy because it was a "Com-mer-Cial carpet". As he tried emphasize this word while talking down to me. Regardless, we proceeded with the tour he still gave me the same attitude throughout and finally the tipping point was him saying that I was uneducated because I didn't know anything about speech therapist and that it doesn't matter if they are board certified or not. Now, given that there is two sides to every story however I came here with an open mind asking questions and doing 80% of the listening or should I say getting talked down to. Either way, I would say that no one should treat anyone this way especially if you are looking for the best interest of your child. I am happy I asked for a tour because I would have not wanted my son to see his mom getting treated this way and let me see that I would not want to work with this place or a person so disrespectful.
