To the Revdex.com:This letter is in response to your message of December 5, regarding the above referenced claim if [redacted] .On September 16, 2015, the complainant requested an estimate for repairs to her Saab 9-which had been involved in an accidentShe expressed a wish to keep the costs to a minimumWe supplied her with a preliminary estimate of $(see enclosed exhibit #1) for the repairsShe was informed that at that price, the rear bumper would be repaired rather than the replacement we recommendedShe agreed to the estimated price and we scheduled the jobAs a courtesy, [redacted] drove her to pick up a rental carIn the course of the conversationthere, the complainant revealed that the repairs were being covered by the other driver's insurance, infinity insuranceAs a matter of due diligence, [redacted] contacted Infinity in order to determine that the estimates were at least roughly similarInfinity supplied [redacted] with their estimate in the amount of $(see enclosed exhibit #2).Now, [redacted] suggested to the complainant that she authorize a new rear bumper rather than repair the damaged one per the insurance estimateThe customer told her that she needed the excess money to pay some other bills and to stick to the original estimateAt this time, [redacted] was under the impression that the insurance check would be written to both the customer AND the repair shop as is standard industry practice, and that Leucadia would be guilty of fraud if they were to refund money to the customer from the insurance proceedsUpon hearing this, the customer admitted that she had accepted that amount unconditionally and had been paid that amount directly, whereupon [redacted] agreed to perform the repairs according to her estimate including repairing rather than replacing the rear bumper cover.Several days later, the customer collected the repaired Saab, inspected it, and left seemingly satisfied with the finished productor days later, she returned with the newly replaced front bumper coverflapping and obviously scarred on the underside consistent with an encounter with a parking stop or curbShe demanded Leucadia repair the damage even though it was apparent that the damage occurred subsequent to the car's delivery to the customerIn order to maintain goodwill in the community [redacted] agreed to re-attach the bumper without admitting any liabilityHowever, when the claimant returned several days later having seemingly run over a curb again We declined to perform any more free service. As to the headlight issue: at the time of our original encounter, the customer informed [redacted] that cine of her headlights had an intermittent fault unrelated to the accident and needed to be replacedWhen she was informed that the factory xenon headlight assembly was about $she asked if there was a cheaper alternativeDue to the complex electronics in xenon headlights, they must be installed as a pair and cannot be matched with halogen assemblies [redacted] found aftermarket headlight assemblies - halogen, notxenon-for around $300/pair and agreed to install them for no chargeThe customer was told at the time that the Halogen units were not going to be as bright as the xenonsThe customer agreed to the aftermarket solution in order to (again) save money and we installed the halogen lightsSome time passed, and the customer contacted us complaining that the headlights were too dim and she couldn't see at nightAt our expense we supplied and installed a set of GE platinum halogen bulbs attempting to finally be done with this jobOf course she soon re-appears claiming that there was nothing wrong with the original headlight - even though she was the source of the diagnosis that the headlight had an intermittent fault- and demanded that we buy the (now used) aftermarket assemblies back from herWe declined to do so.In summary, it is plain that this woman is attempting to profit from this situationShe collected $more from the other person's insurance than she paid usThe headlights which were in no way related to the accident were an additional $and were installed for free at her directionHer demand for the entire $she paid us is absurd, to say the leastHer claim that she has had to pay the same amount the entire job cost in order to replace the bumper she damaged AFTER we completed the repairs - and has already been compensated for - is entirely unsubstantiated and indicative of her intentions in this matter. For almost years Leucadia Auto Body has a virtually unblemished track record of providing quality work at reasonable prices as documented by our reviewsWe pride ourselves in going the extra mile to provide complete satisfactionWe did everything in our power to help this woman but at every turn she has attempted to take advantage of each of the parties to this unfortunate incident - from the other driver's insurance company to usWe cannot be held responsible in perpetuity for damage subsequent to our repairs on every car that comes through our doorsWe respect the Revdex.com and appreciate the Work you do to protect the consumer, but in this instance it is the merchant who needs protection from the customerSincerely,12-15-[redacted] and [redacted] ***

To the Revdex.com:This letter is in response to your message of December 5, 2016 regarding the above referenced claim if [redacted].On September 16, 2015, the complainant requested an estimate for repairs to her Saab 9-3 which had been involved in an accident. She expressed a wish to keep...

the costs to a minimum. We supplied her with a preliminary estimate of $2954.30 (see enclosed exhibit #1) for the repairs. She was informed that at that price, the rear bumper would be repaired rather than the replacement we recommended. She agreed to the estimated . price and we scheduled the job.. As a courtesy, [redacted] drove her to pick up a rental car. In the course of the conversationthere, the complainant revealed that the repairs were being covered by the other driver's insurance, infinity insurance. As a matter of due diligence, [redacted] contacted Infinity in order to determine that the estimates were at least roughly similar. Infinity supplied [redacted] with their estimate in the amount of $4367.77 (see enclosed exhibit #2).Now, [redacted] suggested to the complainant that she authorize a new rear bumper rather than repair the damaged one per the insurance estimate. The customer told her that she needed the excess money to pay some other bills and to stick to the original estimate. At this time, [redacted] was under the impression that the insurance check would be written to both the customer AND the repair shop as is standard industry practice, and that Leucadia would be guilty of fraud if they were to refund money to the customer from the insurance proceeds. Upon hearing this, the customer admitted that she had accepted that amount unconditionally and had been paid that amount directly, whereupon [redacted] agreed to perform the repairs according to her estimate including repairing rather than replacing the rear bumper cover.Several days later, the customer collected the repaired Saab, inspected it, and left seemingly satisfied with the finished product. 2 or 3 days later, she returned with the newly replaced front bumper coverflapping and obviously scarred on the underside consistent with an encounter with a parking stop or curb. She demanded Leucadia repair the damage even though it was apparent that the damage occurred subsequent to the car's delivery to the customer. In order to maintain goodwill in the community [redacted] agreed to re-attach the bumper without admitting any liability. However, when the claimant returned several days later having seemingly run over a curb again We declined to perform any more free service. As to the headlight issue: at the time of our original encounter, the customer informed [redacted] that cine of her headlights had an intermittent fault unrelated to the accident and needed to be replaced. When she was informed that the factory xenon headlight assembly was about $700 she asked if there was a cheaper alternative. Due to the complex electronics in xenon headlights, they must be installed as a pair and cannot be matched with halogen assemblies. [redacted] found aftermarket headlight assemblies - halogen, notxenon-for around $300/pair and agreed to install them for no charge. The customer was told at the time that the Halogen units were not going to be as bright as the xenons. The customer agreed to the aftermarket solution in order to (again) save money and we installed the halogen lights. Some time passed, and the customer contacted us complaining that the headlights were too dim and she couldn't see at night. At our expense we supplied and installed a set of GE platinum halogen bulbs attempting to finally be done with this job. Of course she soon re-appears claiming that there was nothing wrong with the original headlight - even though she was the source of the diagnosis that the headlight had an intermittent fault- and demanded that we buy the (now used) aftermarket assemblies back from her. We declined to do so.In summary, it is plain that this woman is attempting to profit from this situation. She collected $1437.47 more from the other person's insurance than she paid us. The headlights which were in no way related to the accident were an additional $317.90 and were installed for free at her direction. Her demand for the entire $3272.20 she paid us is absurd, to say the least. Her claim that she has had to pay the same amount the entire job cost in order to replace the bumper she damaged AFTER we completed the repairs - and has already been compensated for - is entirely unsubstantiated and indicative of her intentions in this matter. For almost 20 years Leucadia Auto Body has a virtually unblemished track record of providing quality work at reasonable prices as documented by our reviews. We pride ourselves in going the extra mile to provide complete satisfaction. We did everything in our power to help this woman but at every turn she has attempted to take advantage of each of the parties to this unfortunate incident - from the other driver's insurance company to us. We cannot be held responsible in perpetuity for damage subsequent to our repairs on every car that comes through our doors. We respect the Revdex.com and appreciate the Work you do to protect the consumer, but in this instance it is the merchant who needs protection from the customerSincerely,12-15-2016[redacted] and [redacted]
