Level Homes Reviews (2)

In December of 2013 I purchased a home that was built based on an Advertisement by Level homes for a 3 bedroom, two car garage Davis model in the [redacted] subdivision. Shortly after moving into my new home I discovered that the two car garage did not have enough floor space to accommodate two cars as advertised. I notified Level Homes of the issue first during the 120 day walk through. I was told by the construction manager that there was nothing that could be done but he would check on it. I asked a second time during a second visit to work on issues that needed to be addressed and was told the same thing. I then asked who else I could talk to because I had paid for a two car garage and did not think it was fair to not only not get what I paid for but to also not be offered any type of resolution to the problem. He then gave me the name of his supervisor. [redacted] who came out took pictures told me nothing could be done and he did not want to do anything out of code but he would get back with me. After a month with out hearing anything I found out he was no longer there and was then directed to a new customer service manager [redacted] who's only solution was to make my steps smaller which would be out of code and admitted that it may be an issue when and if I tried to sell. He even joked that maybe I should get a motorcycle. He later sent out a structural engineer which I was told would look at all of the remaining issues. However when he came out he said he could only help with the water leaking into the garage and would not be able to help with the spacing issues. He also joked that maybe I should get a mini cooper. There is nothing funny or entertaining about not getting what I paid for..I would like this issue resolved or to be compensated for the two car garage that can not be used as advertised.Product_Or_Service: HomeDesired SettlementAs mentioned previously I would like the issue resolved or to be refunded Business Response Contact Name and Title: [redacted] Dir. of Cons.Contact Phone: XXX-XXX-XXXXContact Email: [redacted]@levelnc.comLevel Homes intends to address this complaint to the customers satisfaction as soon as possible. We have a meeting set up with the homeowner tomorrow (7/22) to discuss a solution.Consumer Response The garage space issue has been resolved. The steps were repositioned to accommodate two cars

Builder fails to provide communal mailboxes as of 55 days after closing date.We inquired about mailboxes well before closing via verbal interactions with [redacted] starting by April 11th 2015. Our closing date was April 28th 2015 and we still had no mailboxes. Our home development is slated to have communal mailboxes as ordered by [redacted]. At first we were told the city of Durham was in charge of their installation, but from my own personal research on the subject I found no evidence for this and much in favor of the builder being responsible for the boxes. I told [redacted] this verbally before the closing date. After closing we were still told this lie for at least a week, possibly more before Level Homes admitted they would be installing the boxes. My first record of the mailboxes being addressed via email is dated May 28th 2015 where the temporary solution of our mail being held for pickup at the post office is suggested. We had already started this process May 27th 2015 (we had not set our change of address to start until May 16th and during our first week had no mail to pickup according to [redacted], which was why we set up the first hold May 27th 2015.) and began weekly mail pickups at the post office. Level homes told us we would have a mailbox by the end of day June 17th 2015 and after further inquiry claimed they were being put up that morning on June 19th 2015. Because of this we did not put our mail on hold again when we picked in up June 16th 2015, but because they still had not built the communal mailboxes by June 23rd when we stopped by the post office to pick up our mail and there was none. That was because [redacted] had decided to start returning it to sender, which technically their policy states shouldn't happen until 10 days without pickup so they are in error. Regardless, however, this would never have happened if Level Homes had handled this issue in a timely manner. According to the [redacted] policies (http://[redacted]) the responsibility for the mailboxes is in the consumer's hands, in this case that responsibility falls to Level Homes since they are charged with providing the communal mail boxes before move in. So there is no more we can do on our end. Holds have a limitation of 30 days, so even if we had put a hold on our mail the day we closed we would still be unable to use their hold service without taking breaks with subsequent mail loss since hold mail is meant as a vacation service, not a longer term solution. It is now 27 days beyond to 30 we could have our mail held in. We have valuable checks and business documents we are unable to receive because Level Homes cannot deliver the essential services all homeowners are due. Out entire neighborhood is suffering thanks to Level Homes negligence.Desired SettlementImmediate installation of the promised mailboxes or permission from Level Homes and [redacted] to put in a curbside mailbox of our choice at our own expense for curbside delivery ASAP.Business Response Contact Name and Title: [redacted], Off MgrContact Phone:[redacted]Contact Email: [redacted]As a recap, the [redacted] changed its requirements for mail delivery service which has caused many new communities across the country to install mail kiosks. The result of these changes have caused Towns and Counties to scramble on the installation guidelines of mail kiosks in public right of ways. Level Homes is still waiting on the [redacted] to give us direction on where they would like the kiosks to be installed on a permanent basis. The temporary installation is our attempt to get mail delivered. The Mail Kiosks have been installed in the "temporary" location of the [redacted] Lot. As soon as the kiosks were installed, a work order went in to the [redacted] to have addresses assigned for mail delivery. Again, we are at the mercy of the [redacted] in getting this completed. They would not commit to a timeframe, however, I am calling every other day asking for a follow up.
