They do not carry cargo insurance and destroyed the interior of Porsche Now he won't Anserr my calls - customer beware

Level Storage accepted a contract to transport a vehicle down to Texas. They broke the contract by not delivering the car for 3 weeks. On 5/10 Level Storage Corp accepted a transport contract to move our 92 Cadillac Allante to its new owner located in Texas. We paid the transporter when he picked up the vehicle $950.00 which was the contracted amount. The driver showed up 3-4 days late in picking up the vehicle with no notification from either headquarters or the driver. Finally we called the company and were notified that the truck had broken down but would be there the following day. The car was finally picked up on 5/15/2013 by the driver, it was loaded and all was well. Two days later the driver called our customer in Texas directly and told him that he was 20 minutes away and would be delivering the car that afternoon this was on 5/17/2013. Our customer called us on the following Monday to inform us that the driver had called him and told him that he was going to be there on Friday but the car never showed up and no further contact was made by the driver or headquarters to notify us as to what was going on. We started calling Level Storage on Wednesday the 22 of May, by Thursday we had gotten a hold of one of the "[redacted]" there and he told us that the driver had been confused between two different customers and that the truck had actually broken down and the car was located in Dallas Texas. On Friday 5/24 after two weeks of hassle we spoke with [redacted] who told us that the car was still in Texas located at a facility there and the truck was still in need of repair but he promised us that the car was going to be delivered on Tuesday 5/28. After calling our customer on Tuesday and being informed that the car was still not delivered, we called Level Storage back again. After several failed attempts to get ahold of anyone at Level Storage (several voicemails none of which returned by anyone) and talking to their [redacted] who never had any information on anything other then how to pass the buck to [redacted] who never called to inform us of anything. Late Tuesday I got ahold of [redacted] finally and he told me that the truck had been fixed and the car was going to be loaded up on Wednesday morning and delivered to the customer by the afternoon. Wednesday rolled around yet again and we couldn't get hold of Lever to confirm that the car had actually been loaded, the entire day went without any contact from Level. By Thursday our customer had informed us that the car still was not there. Again we tried to get ahold of Level to no avail, we had been in contact with the authorities in three states since we had no idea if the car was actually still in the states or in Mexico. One of our contacts was finally able to get ahold of Level Storage only to find out that they had posted the vehicle for transport because they were not able to move it for some reason (the notorious truck broke down at this point doesn't cut it). Level broke their contract with us, have no customer service (at this point I assume that the worse has happened to this car and they just want to run from it) and I don't feel that they should be able to transport cars further but that is my opinion. They were able to assign the car to another trucker as of 6/4 but are allowing that trucker to walk into a complete mess of a situation by not telling the trucker that the customer will probably will be [redacted] to the extreme after paying for services that were not delivered. Not only are they rude in allowing someone else to talk the fall and heat for their screw-up but they are unethical in that respect as well. I hope at the end of the day the "[redacted]" and [redacted] have the respect to own up to when they have issues and inform their contracted customers of situations when the arise.Desired SettlementI want a refund of the $950.00 that we paid for the contract. The contract was broken by Level Storage since they are not the delivering company and it took almost 3 weeks for them to man up and admit they couldn't move the car, the communication between Level Storage and us was also non existent and frustrating. When I had spoken with [redacted] on one occasion he said to let him know what would make me happy since this situation "is what it is at this point".

Level Storage Corp failed to deliver vehicle as contracted and driver took illegal possession of vehicle. Company refused to make amends. Company brokered by Bama Auto Movers for transport of vehicle from Birmingham, AL to Orlando Florida was Level Storage out of W. Springfield, Massachusetts. Vehicle was to be delivered to Orlando August 8th or August 9th. Payment in the form of a cashiers' check in the amount of $525 was federal expressed to broker. Level Storage picked up vehicle in Birmingham on August 6th. After repeated attempts to track the driver beginning August 7th and after failure to reach Level Storage, I contacted Bama Auto Movers in an attempt to find my vehicle. All contacts failed and it was not until August 12th that the Level Storage driver contacted me via SMS to acknowledge arrival in Florida and to provide car's location which was none of the agreed to drop off locations. Police obtained a statement from the driver acknowledging the driver had arrived in Orlando on August 7th and had been using the vehicle from the 7th through the 12th for personal purposes. Level Storage filed a complaint for retrieval of the tractor trailer but did not include failure of the company to deliver the vehicle nor include it's driver's theft of the vehicle. Driver incurred a red light ticket and tolls and put miles on the vehicle while he had possession of the vehicle. He trashed the interior of the car by smoking, spilling beer, trash and ashes on the carpet, and stole tools from the trunk. Level Storage had the opportunity to rectify and failed to do so and in fact, became aggressive when the subject of reimbursement was raised.Desired SettlementRefund cost of transport, reimbursement of tolls, ticket, refurb of vehicleBusiness Response Contact Name and Title: [redacted]Contact Phone: XXX-XXX-XXXXThis unfortunate situation was created by a driver that worked for us his name is [redacted] II. He has stolen more then $7000.00 from us. We were supposed to be paid by BAMA Auto Movers for this vehicle after delivery but because the situation I asked BAMA Auto Movers to refund the customer our share of the money. Final Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)Neither Bama nor Level has compensated me for any costs. I've received no reimbursement for the transport costs or any costs associated with Richard's unauthorized use of the car over 5 days. When transporting a car the greatest fear is actually what happened.Final Business Response As stated in the previous response we asked BAMA Auto Movers to refund you your money, we didn't receive any money from the transport as we get paid only after we deliver for BAMA. Also on the phone at the time of the incident I gave you the case number and the police department handling all the complaints against the driver. They had him in custody and I have no further information.
