Review: Charged my credit card without authorization.

I visited a friend on 9/16/13 who had been staying there for a couple of nights. He did not have cash at the time to pay for the room so I agreed to pay for 1 night with my credit card. I was very clear with the Front Desk Associate that I was "not" staying in the room, I was only paying for 1 night and my card was not to be charged for any other reason. On 9/20/13, I realized the hotel had charged me an additional $150.00 which made recent checks bounce, causing major fees to be charged to my account. I called the hotel 9/23/13 at 12:22pm and spoke to a lady, I assume was the manager, though she would not give me her name. She was extremely rude, telling me that I broke her door, when in fact, I was never a guest there and was only present for 30 mins. They did not follow procedure, when checking in my friend, by taking a cash deposit from a cash paying guest to cover incidents like this. I do not feel I should be held liable for damage made by the guest, especially due to the fact that the hotel was incapable of following their own simple company policies. I want my money refunded asap. Desired Settlement: After reviewing my bank statement, I saw I had been charged twice by the Lexington Inn & Suites Yuba City. Both unauthorized charges were $150.00, for a total of $300.00.

I would like to be refunded the full amount of $300.00

Thank you,

Initial Business Response

I am writing to you regarding the letter I have received for the guest Name [redacted].

Miss [redacted] and her husband rented the room # [redacted] and checked out on the l7th of

September. When we checked the room the whole door lock was broken.

I called the number on profile and left the message before I charged the card.

Her card was charged $ 300.00 in total for the lock and repair cost.

As she mentioned she was visiting a friend but who was her " husband". I have attached the

email that I received from her regarding the charges in which she mentioned very well that her

husband stayed in the room.

If you may have any questions feel free to contact [redacted] at Ph: XXX-XXX-XXXX.

Thank you,

Review: Stayed at the hotel. The hotel did not provide basic services to the room, no water, filthy rooms and pool, no internet service as adv.

We made reservations for our two night stay several days prior to our arrival for two adults and one teenager. We checked into our room on 5/24/2013 at 8:34PM. We checked out of our room on 5/26/2013 at 8:43AM. We have several issues with the condition of the property and rooms. 1. At the time of our stay we had no water to shower or clean ourselves with. The amount of water trickling out of the faucet was insufficient at best to shower with let alone wash our hands. We called the front desk and we were assured they would work on it. The next morning (Sat.) we had to get up early to be at our activity. The water pressure was still not restored. We returned to our room after our activity at midnight. We went to shower and there still was insufficient water to bathe ourselves. I went directly to the office and again was told they would send a repair person up. I waited for the repair person until well after 1:ooAM, still no repair person. I went to the office again and was told they forgot which room number we were in. The repair person arrived shortly after that. He went into the bathroom with channel lock pliers and did something. He came out and worked on the bathroom faucet. He then told us that he wasn't able to fix it and there was a problem with their water system. I went back down to the office and spoke with the gentleman on duty and he assured me the problem would be corrected by the following morning so that I and my family could shower. While I expressed my unhappiness with the situation he told me there wasn't much he could do, but offer me a full refund if the water was not restored. When we woke up in the morning to shower for our 9:00 event, there was still no water pressure. We were unable to shower from the beginning of our stay Friday night through Sunday. We were in great need as the event/activity we were there for was an outdoor sporting event that went from early morning to late night. I went down to the office again Sunday morning and the office had several customers in there complaining of the very same issue with no resolve from the staff. I was told to leave my number and a lady by the name of [redacted] would return my call later Sunday afternoon. (more below in the settlement section on how we tried to resolve the issue).

2. No Internet service as promised. When we went to the office to inquire the staff argued with us and said it was working. We could log on for an hour and then it would disconnect in the middle of my son's homework project and then would not let us back on. We could not locate and IP address. 3. Pool and spa were absolutely disgusting. There was some sort of junk at the bottom of the pool that you could feel yourself stepping in as you moved about. It was very green. The spa had toilet paper in it. 4. There was a lot of illegal prostitution activity happening throughout the night and day. The prostitutes were going in and out of the office. On one of my trips to the office one of them even propositioned me. I was utterly disgusted as it confirmed my suspicions about the facility. There were rooms across the courtyard from me which we observed men coming and going from every 20 minutes or so. For me this confirms to me why the rooms were not very clean. My wife, son, and I were not able to rest very well given the situation. Desired Settlement: I have spent many hours trying to resolve this situation with [redacted]. She never returns my calls as she promises, even when I allow her to set the time frame. She lied to me stating there was no issue. I have a video of the insufficient water coming out of the shower head. After she lied about there not being an issue, she then said that they as a company have spent $20K with a company to service this issue. The gentleman I spoke with Saturday at midnight, who I was told later by [redacted] was the owner, admitted to me this was an ongoing problem. Thus, admitting there is a problem. I have recorded some of our conversations. After multiple phone calls to [redacted], I was told she would reimburse me 1 night stay. That was not what was promised to me, but I was willing to compromise. In the discussion with her, she made statements that there wasn't a problem and that not having water wasn't a big deal as most of their customers don't need to shower (explains the prostitution). She said that she didn't want to reimburse both nights because it was our choice to stay there the 2nd night. We told her we stayed because we believed the gentleman when he said it was going to be repaired and we were trying to be patient. She said that if we would have left they would have rented the room out to someone else thus receiving income. I questioned her and asked her if she would knowingly rent a room without adequate water and she said yes, because not all her customers need water. I asked her what the health department say about renting a room that she knowingly did not have water. She raised her voice and said she would take back my refund if we called the health department. She told me it would take up to 7 days for the refund to appear on my account. Again, I waited 15 days and still no credit. I called her back. She told me she already had credited it to me. I told her my bank statement did not reflect it. She said she would check into it and call me back. No return call. To this day I have not heard or received a thing. The name on the business establishment says Lexington Inn and Suites, however the address and phone number listed with the Revdex.com says Quality Inn. For my time and effort I would like a full refund of $153.98. I don't know what else to say or do. I have tried to resolve this issue. Any family looking for a decent room should avoid this establishment. The health department and local police should investigate. I am very worried about the operations of this establishment.

Review: Booked a room online at $47.99 + taxes and fees. Was charged $69.99 + taxes and fees.

I booked a $47.99 non-refundable room on their website at www.lexingtonhotels.com. At the check-in, the employee requested me to present a credit card for verification, and sign on a touch screen pad, so I did. No charge amount was presented at that time, so I didn't expect that it was for credit card authorization. The employee then printed out the receipt and it showed $69.99 plus taxes. I showed the confirmation e-mail that clearly shows $47.99 + taxes for the room, and then the employee mentioned that the rate had been updated after my reservation as they later realized there's an event in the area. I requested to honor the advertised price but the employee declined.Desired Settlement: Including the taxes, I am overcharged $24.20 from the advertised rate. This amount is based on the actual charge on my credit card $76.99 minus $47.99 + $4.80 taxes.

Review: Hello. My name is [redacted] and I'm wanting to file an complaint against The Lexington Inn And Suites in Yuba City Ca. 95993. I booked a suite with the manager over the phone. When we arrived at 6:20 pm the room wasn't ready and was told that it would be 15 more minutes. So my wife and our three children waited in the car. 40 minutes later we were told that it was ready for us. When we walked into the room it was infested with over 50 flies which they fixed by handing me a flyswatter. The T.V did not work, the door jam to the bathroom was cracked in half so couldn't shut the door when using the restroom. There was some kind of big insect on my daughters pillow and the bathroom outlet was completely black from burning out. Not to mention ever door sqeeked load enough to wake up someone next door which the fix for that repair was for to come down to the office and get some WD-40. After taking pictures of everything and discussing my complaint with the manager she told me the only thing she can do was give 30% off of the room and if we wanted another night in one of the other suites that she would give us a discount of 20/30 dollars off so since our house is still under repairs we decided to stay 1 more night. The following morning I checked our credit card and money was taken out for both nights with no credit applied. Our inquiry about this got no answers so we decided to contact the owner who said its too early for him to receive any complaints and told us to talk to his manager (same person we were getting no answers from) and hung upy the phone on me. We have to pay the window company for our repaired today and now don't have the money in our account because of this issue. Thank you for your time.Sincerely[redacted]Desired Settlement: $276.00
