Most of the owner description of events is untrue I still have the document he claims I balled up after it was given to me A photo is attached showing it is still in pristine condition having never been crumpled I was never hostile He kept calling me hotshot and demanded I leave his garage I only asked him to look at the pictures and stop calling me names I was fine with the two hour time frame As a matter of fact, I had called their shop minutes before my inspection and they told me if I could get their right away they could get it done in an hour or two That was the determining factor for me to take my vehicle to their shop The $wiper blades are nowhere near the quality of the blades I had on my vehicle and I replaced them with the exact same kind the shop damaged I did ask about still having to pay for their service but I told the cashier it was due to them damaging my vehicle, not because my vehicle failed the inspection They never told me I could go back for free within days The Henrico policeman is the one that explained that to me I have also attached a photo of my wiper blade showing it was not torn before the inspection

This customer brought his car in for a State Inspection on August 12th, 2016. He came in during an especially busy time, but we told him we would work him in and have his inspection completed within 2 hours. He was not satisfied with this timeline but decided to stay for the inspection anyway....

We tried our best to accommodate the customers time constraints and completed his inspection in half the estimated time.  The vehicle in question needed two wiper blades to pass inspection because they were both torn. The cost for both wiper blades and labor at our shop totaled $25.18. The customer claimed to have taken pictures of the blades prior to inspection and became hostile when shown the failing wipers. He was provided a printout from the Virginia State Police safety inspection manual where it is stated under code 19VAC30-70-230 item #4 that the wiper blades would fail if "Blade has brittle worn, torn, or ripped rubber or if metal comes in contact with the windshield."  the customer then balled up the piece of paper while exclaiming that someone in the shop had torn his wiper blades. He then asked why he still had to pay the $16 for the service to his car even though it was rejected. He was told that the $16 needed to be paid for the inspectors time and the cost of the stickers whether the car passes or fails but that if the needed repairs were made with in 15 days he would not be charged again for a re-inspection. The customer then left and parked in the parking lot next door to the shop while he waited for henrico police to arrive. He then left and replaced the wiper blades at another shop before returning for a re-inspection. His car, fitted with the new wiper blades passed inspection and he was issued a new, passing sticker. At this time we feel that we fulfilled our service to the customer.                                Thank you,  Travis C[redacted]

Review: I brought my vehicle in for a state inspection on August 12, 2016. I have had multiple other shops in the past fail me for torn windshield wiper blades so I took close up photos of my wipers minutes before my inspection because I knew they were in good shape. They failed me for torn wiper blades after showing me each blade was torn on one end. I accused them of damaging my vehicle to fail me and they denied it even after I told them I had photos to back it up. The owner of the business was the inspector and got very upset with me for the accusation and told me to leave after I paid $16.00 for my inspection which was rejected. I have now had to purchase new wiper blades at a cost of $37.84 and will need to be reinspected before I will get a window sticker that shows I passed. I spent most of my day getting the inspection and waiting on Henrico Police who did not file a report but suggested I contact Revdex.com. I then drove to another store and replaced my wiper blades and finally went for a reinspection. This shop also recommended $1598 worth of other maintenance repairs to my vehicle which had nothing to do with the inspection.Desired Settlement: I wish to have my entire expense credited back to me and a low score reported for this business on Revdex.com.
