I recently went for therapy twice seeing a Ms. The morning receptionist told me I had to pay *** for each visit, said I had to meet the *** deductible. Over the weekend I checked with my insurance and I do not have to meet the deductible and my copay is *** a visit. I called on a Sat. night and a therapist on call for the weekend was rude. I got half a sentence out, she said I don't anything about it, I said U can listen can't you? At the end she said call Debbie *** Monday. I called Debbie Monday, she said I will check and call you back. She said the receptionist was there, took over and said I will handle it. THe receptionist said I checked your insurance and you have to pay the *** deductible. I got the MHBP handbook and read it to her on page 72 and told her I want my money back, she said we can't do that you have to use it in sessions. I said I don't want to do that, I want to talk with the owner. I called three times, the last time the receptionist talked mean to me. I said stop like that to me like that witch. The owner, Kevin *** never called me back. That afternoon about 4 p.m., office mgr. called and said they were refunding my *** which I got a few days later. I called back and asked to speak to office mgr. Debbie *** answered phone, kept saying we sent your $ back. I said yes, but I want to talk with office mgr. I voiced my complaints. She took up for the receptionist saying she called ins. and someone told her I had to meet deductible. I said I called insurance twice and they never told me that. I asked office manager were U there when she called? She said no so who knows if she called or not? I told her I didn't like the way Debbie *** did for she never did what she said she would do, she let the receptionist take over. I called Monday to schedule an appointment, receptionst said she checked with office mgr. who said I could come there no more. I left msg. for office mgr. to call me back and she hasn't. Bad business.

Other (requires explanation) (Cont'd) I also called therapist, *** a few days ago and she never returned my call. I cannot believe they have treated me like this when they were the ones who messed up, not me. I hope they do no other poor soul like they have me. They are supposed to be a Christian agency. The way they treated me is not christian. If it's a christian business, I don't want to see a sinner one. I am going to EEO on them. I can act as bad as they do. I want Kevin *** owner, to call me.

Our policy at Liberating Lives Christian Counseling & Psychological Services is when we see a new patient, we often need to call their insurance company for verification. At times we are instructed erroneously by the insurance company representative on what to collect from a patient. In Ms. (Complainant) case we were told to collect a *** deductible. She was seen on 1/10 & 1/17/19 and *** was collected from Ms. for each visit.

On 1/21/19 an office staff member called Ms. to inform her that she had a credit balance from her 1/10/19 appt in our office. Ms. immediately started screaming at the staff member saying, "that she didn't have a deductible" and that "we robbed/scammed her."

At this point, Ms. was demanding her money immediately without Liberating Lives receiving an insurance settlement for her 1/17/19 appt. date. (It was later determined, re-approaching the insurance company representative, that she had indeed a *** health deductible, but a *** mental health deductible.) The office staff member and Owner asked that I call the patient to assure her that her check would go out on the next business day, and because the Owner had a full patient schedule that day and would be unable to call her.

I did call Ms. on 1/21/19 and listened to her, relayed the information to her, and then listened as she bad mouthed the entire staff, yelled, and was borderline racist with her comments. I also relayed to Ms. that Rev. *** was booked through the day and that he had asked me to call her in his place. After I spoke with Ms., she called the office again and asked for the same staff member. Ms. then called the staff member a "Stupid B."

On 1/22/19 her refund check of *** was mailed along with a letter outlining the refund amount; *** per visit - less her *** co-pay for each visit.

On 1/24/19 I called Ms. again after she left a message for me and other staff members. When I called Ms. she was again; rude, racist, and obnoxious. When she finally understood who I was, she did agree that she was being "mean" to me. I agreed with her as well. She then insisted that both the staff member and the Senior Administrator be fired. She also said they should be patients and that I should agree with her. I told her I could not, but she had a right to her own opinion.

On 1/24/19 I made a formal complaint against the patient to her insurance company, Aetna. I was told that they didn't have a system in place for the complaint, but that they made notes in her file regarding the incident.

Upon cashing her check (the refund check posted to our bank account on 1/28/19), Ms. has repeatedly called the office harassing the staff. She is rude and then wants to make an appt. She calls nearly on a daily basis, and when she is unable to make the appt she demands to speak to myself, Ms. (her Therapist), or Rev. *** If I call her back, she merely wants to continue insisting that staff members are fired. No one in the office deserves this kind of treatment/abuse, and we have the right to refuse treatment at any time.

Even from Ms. complaint to the Revdex.com, her demeanor is very un-Christian like. We would like to help Ms., but it is her "bad actions" that have caused the entire incident. We also cannot have an unstable person such as Ms. wreak havoc in our office because something isn't going her way at any point. This is unfair to our other patients as well.

Unfortunately, we were not able to help Ms. with her therapy, however we wish her well.

It was Liberating Lives fault and I cannot believe their response. Angela said I was racist. At no point did I mention race. She is a racist to bring it up. It seems Kevin *** owner, does not care what they do which is a shame. Debbie *** and morning receptionist do need to be fired for both were rude to me and did not know what they were doing. After speaking with Angela the last time, I called to schedule an appointment with Ms. for Angie said I could come back. Receptionist said she checked with Angela and she said I couldn't come back. I said that is strange for she said I could come back. I called once for Ms. left msg. with evening receptionist for her to call me back. She never and I haven't called since. Angela is lieing saying I called for days after that. I don't want to go there after she has told lies on me. I never went in there raising a disturbance with anyone and had no intentions of doing so. I don't know why she is blaming me rather than her employees and telling lies. I am going to file an EEO complaint against them for discriminating against me, I hope they do no other poor wretch like they did me. I am not letting Satan spoil my day or turn my apple cart over through them. I am praying for the lord to help them. They are not a christian agency and sinning to advertise using God as a front. The lord is the avenger so let him take care of them.
