I spoke with the customer a few months ago and sent my crew leader [redacted] out immediatelyWe looked at the boards and did find boards the grain was facing the wrong wayWe will gladly remove and replace.? All boards were snugged up tight when installedFresh wood ALWAYS shrinks so a gap is common and will always happen with new woodCustomer said it was code for clips to be installedI told him not to my knowledge or my crews knowledgeThey are only required on new constructionHis roof was a re-roof? Customer called our office on a Sunday evening and left a messageI returned call at 11am following day and spoke with himI told him about the boards and we would schedule to come outI told him that I could not find any code that says the clips are necessaryHe told me to come out to his houseI told him that is not necessary and to please provide me with the written code he is speaking of, I told him if he was correct about the code I would make it right? He said he would see me in court and hung up on meI called back and left a very slow clear message with my email address and told him to email me the code he says a re roof requires clips and I will be back in contact with him but I cannot help him when he hangs up on meI can not take a verbal request or a " so and so said it was code" As I said before, please provide the code that requires clips on a re roof and I will be in touch with my crew to make this rightIf you can not provide the code I will send someone out to remove the boards and put new down with new shingles? I am more than willing to help but gaps in boards are normalIf the issue is with boards shrinking we can contact [redacted] and inform them of what happened and see if they will helpNothing in the contract says installing clips and I could not find any code stating it eitherPlease advise.? ?
