I purchased a 2008 Honda Civic EX from Liberty Auto 9/7/2017. The car was bought without warranty, and I was assuming they had made sure that there were no re calls on the vehicle. There was an engine issue in the 06-09 Honda Civics that had not been addressed, the block would crack, leading to over heating and inevitably an engine that would need to be replaced. I do not understand how this HUGE issue was overlooked and now I am stuck paying for a car that has a blown engine/ busted block, the car has lasted me LESS than a year. This should have been addressed by the dealership before the car was placed on their lot for sale.

As per our conversation this morning, this vehicle was purchased without a warranty. The engine issue in question was not an actual recall, but a notice that some Civics had cracking problems in the block. If it was determined that the vehicle in question did in fact have this issue, and it was within the year and mileage parameters, Honda would replace the block. We make every effort to inspect the cars that we offer for sale, obtain current inspection, and offer warranties to our prospective buyers. We are deeply sorry this happened. Unfortunately, we have no way of knowing when this problem occurred as it was purchased over a year ago and we have had no correspondence with the customer.
