Liberty Motors Reviews (2)

Hello:
This email is to inform you of resolution to  complaint #[redacted]. The owner and service manager of the business and I were able to negotiate a resolution the problem I was having. The service manager and I were in agreement to "wipe the slate clean" and go from there.
I'm confident...

that respect and integrity will now be the order of business on their end as well as mine.

Review: 8/19/2014: purchased used car 2005 Subaru Outback wagon LL Bean edition from sales manager [redacted]. "As-Is No warranty" form not on car prior to test drive and given at signing (Mr. [redacted] stated no mechanical issues with car when questioned).8/27/2014: early afternoon noted significant oil and coolant leak on ground (car driven every day during previous week). Took car to [redacted] Automotive for safety inspection and dx of issue. Noted several mechanical issues: oil leak from engine cover, lower radiator hose soaked with oil, evidence of steam cleaning under car with major issue being HC 1173 PPM in cooling system indicating internal engine damage.8/28/2014: took car to Liberty Motors and explained issues of past 2/days with Mr. [redacted]. Service Manager [redacted] took car into service dpt for check of high HC in cooling system. Taken to area where car being examined after 45/min. Technician [redacted] proceeded to place sensor over oil reservoir, wave about: when sensor indicated on monitor 20+ HC PPM when passed quickly over coolant reservoir he stated 10 points subtracted due to a nonsensical reason. I asked [redacted] for smog check vehicle report and vehicle inspection report. Please note inaccuracies to Smog Check Vehicle Report(1/16/2014 3:21:46pm [redacted]/EO141517 station#RA164813): Under vehicle information: engine size is 3.0L not 2.5L; auto type is wagon not passenger/sedan; exhaust is dual not single; model is Outback LL Bean edition not Legacy; cylinders are 6 not 4. I noted bar code on drivers door whereby an accurate VID could be obtained.8/28/2014: Returned to [redacted] Automotive, checked for HC in cooling system (after removing amount in reservoir due to spill-over) with HC PPM @ 90. Stood by initial assessment.8/29/2014: Took car to [redacted] Automotive for 3rd opinion: HC test finding 57 PPM in cooling system indicating combustion leak into cooling system from either blown head gasket, cracked head and/or damaged engine block.8/30/2014: Met with [redacted] (Owner/CEO) Liberty Motors (pre-arranged meeting) in order to present him with information from other mechanics and to try and remedy situation. Brought along friend/companion who assists me and has been involved in above process (I am disabled vet and require assistance at times). Mr. [redacted] insisted my companion leave as it "illegal" for him to speak with anyone other than myself (companion had offered a one-sentence explanation of paperwork). I stated she was there for support and as witness whereby he let matter go. Mr. [redacted] refused to look at reports, alleging some type of conspiracy regarding the other repair shops and myself. During conversation he became increasingly hostile, disrespectful to both myself and my companion and when asked to lower voice and treat us respectfully, he refused. I stated my desire to have sale recinded. Mr. [redacted] stated he "legally" could not do this as the money was in the bank. He futher stated I was not sold a bad car as this is something Liberty Motors does not do. I stated I would then proceed with other means of remedying the situation and that I was indeed sold a "bad" car. Mr. [redacted] then walked quickly toward us, arms raised yelling at us to get out. I viewed this action as a physical threat and advised him of this. I left mechanic reports from [redacted], and his shop with him as I exited building.8/30/2014: Threatening behaviour of Mr. [redacted] reported to Grass Valley, CA Sherriff's Dept.9/1/2014: Complaint filed via website with BAR regarding above matter with particular attention to inaccuracies in Smog check certificate vehicle description.Desired Settlement: Up until the end of the 8/30/2014 meeting with Mr. [redacted] I would have been quite willing to exchange car for another on their lot. However, their refusal to acknowledge a problem let alone set this right has caused me not to trust any business with them. That said, only a refund (rescind sale) will suffice.
