Liberty Moves Reviews (%countItem)

I booked a move. When they arrived they did not wear masks or put down runners.
They damaged a wall corner in my house. They damaged my dryer which was almost new. The damaged the wall and floor in my new place. They took my husband's screwdriver.
They would not pay to repair them. They offered to come over on Sunday and repair them.
They are not construction workers and having people who damaged my property, attempt repair was ludicrous.
They would not refund any of my money.
We have disputed the credit card charge.

Desired Outcome

Billing Adjustment I need $300 to repair the walls and as a negotiation for what cannot be repaired. The dryer cannot be repaired nor can my hardwood floors in the new place. They can return my husband's tool. I don't want them coming over. I don't want them touching anything else of mine.

Owner *** damaged my Whirlpool Cabrio Platinum dryer during my move and is now refusing to pay after he promised he would.
My dryer was damaged by owner the owner of Liberty Moves, *** during my move. It has a dent that he is refusing to repair. Initially, I was quoted by *** that he would take $150 off my total bill. Later, it changed to $100. After both responses from ***, he ended the conversation confirming that if for any reason I wasn't satisfied or have any issues, call him and he would contact his Whirlpool repair person to come out and repair. He confirmed this several times. I noticed later when I opened the door to my dryer all the way, rather than half way, as he did, the top drop down. The dryer door will close when I hold and lift it up. I didn't want to take the chance on damaging my dryer any worse or if the dropping starts a dominoes effect and start to cause other issues, so I reached out to ***, as I'd been in communication with days after my delivery. I informed him that I would prefer for him to contact his Whirlpool guy and have my dryer repaired. Since he deducted $100 from my bill for the damage, I told him whatever the total he has to pay to repair my dryer, I would give him back the $100. I figured since he promised to have it repaired, it wouldn't be an issue. I WAS WRONG... *** advised me that he "broke even" with my move and didn't make any money. He then started giving me a break down of what he saved me and how many hours he had to drive from his location to mine. I'm sure when I submitted my initial request, I included my address. If the drive was going to be an issue, he shouldn't have accepted the job. *** quoted $149/hour for 2 men, minimum 3 hours however, he indicated that my move would take 4 hours. The $149/hour should include the truck, the men, the gas, the mileage. It's the quote he sent to me via ***, as well as what's on their website. Their website confirmed that "they do not have any SURPRISE FEES and mentioned for customers not to be fooled by the lower rates from other movers because you get what you pay for". *** showed up at my door, the day of my move with 2 trainees (with a total of 4 men, it actually should've taken less time, but it didn't--it was 5 hours). $149 x 5 hours = $745. I paid $663.75. Below is a breakdown of the $650 *** sent to me showing what he saved me in exchange for not repairing my dryer:
$200 for Uhaul (because their company truck broke down that morning); $100 for each man; $50 for gas. And + $100 off for dryer damages.
To tell me that he "broke even and didn't make a dime" from my move, has NOTHING to do with the damage to my dryer. I was not provided any paperwork whatsoever. I paid my initial deposit on 02/26/2020, in the amount of $258.75 and the remainder after the move, on 02/28/2020, in the amount of $395, with my credit card. I also paid $10 on my debit card.

Desired Outcome

I want my dryer repaired by *** as he promised, as soon as possible!!

Lol. This is what I get doing a move @ ***

Check it out. Anyone of you reading this review would pull into this place then run. We were aggressively asked 3 times by 2-3 different thugs just to move our truck while we were loading... It was awful.

This is also ***. The owner & President of LibertyMovesInc. I just happen to be on the move this day, because I was meeting a young man to hire him for the Pinehurst location and I did . It's why I was willing to not make a dome that day. I'm actually the one who dropped the dryer and dented it and I'll tell you exactly what happened. First , I drove to Charolette from Pinehurst to help***. She neglects To tell me that she has two football fields to walk every item at the pick up address and then that she's on the third floor at her new place with no elevator. I realize 2 men will take 10-12 hours so I hide 2 more men . The 4 man rate with truck is $223/hr (As stated by the Utilities Commission of North Carolina) IT'S THE LAW. I discounted her to $149/hr for 5 hours so we could get gone before midnight. I Also didn't charge her $200 for insurance & I gave her $100 for denting the dryer, because I was in a really good mood that day. She tipped us a $40 pizza and gave us all hugs and told us we were the best movers she ever had . (These are things that you won't find in her version of the review.) That's a combined discount of $670. Enough to get 2 new dryers. So she was on the moon. We didn't hook up her washing machine, so Maintenance comes and connects her washing machine. It runs once and is fine then runs again and breaks , she blames us. This woman has gone bonkers and left a bad review on every platform I have. I actually want people to see this so it gives some validity to the general public to know that you just can't please everybody. Yes , I dented the dryer and I gave her $670 off her bill for a dent in the dryer. I charged her $650 for her move (should Of been $1300) and it's exactly what I spent and she blamed me for maintenance or herself for the problem. $670 off her bill. Most people would hire us just to come out and dent their $300 Dryer to obtain 50% off their entire move. The state has already dismissed her case, *** list deleted her review. *** and google did as well. I hope ya guys can see through her disguise. She overly compensated for the dryer.

Customer Response • Mar 24, 2020

This is the same unprofessional response he submitted on ***. *** never provided me with any documentation or a contract. All of our communication were via text message.
This was my response to ***:
***, you are appearing very unprofessional and seriously need to think about taking a few Business Etiquette and Customer Service classes.

""Run the other way///Thugs"". Don't YOU ever think you are better than anyone else. What you have today, can be taken from you in a heart beat. Where you live today, can change tomorrow. No, it wasn't a ritzy area, however people can afford whatever they can afford. HOW DARE YOU!!!

Yes, some people can become a little territorial over there assigned parking spaces. Nothing I could do about it. Had I known before we headed out, I would've asked for you to have the additional cars park in the visitors section. I was under the impression you all rode together in the truck.

A "football field...". It was up to you as the owner to come out to the location PRIOR TO MY MOVE and determine distance. At least that's what you have on your website. That's poor planning on your end. You should've realized this beforehand. You quoted me $149/hour for 2 men..rather than 3 hours, I'll assume you just guessed and informed me that my move would take 4 hours. Waive Insurance....To reiterate, you never informed me of insurance. So, I guess you had no other choice but to waive it. Show me the paperwork!! The information I submitted online, as well as our initial phone calls, you were aware that I was moving on the 3rd floor. You just failed to tell your movers, who weren't prepared for it. And when, where and what time did you EVER quote me for 4 men. You appeared at my door, THE DAY OF MY MOVE with 2 additional trainees. And it's funny how you say how long it should or shouldn't have taken, when you kept yelling at them saying, "let's go guys, this is a 2 man job and we have 4 men--these rooms should've been clear by now". YOUR WORDS.

And pizza.....Yes, I did buy you and your team pizza prior to the job ending. That's the key word, "prior to the job ending". This was the time you were still promising me that you would repair my dryer, if I wasn't satisfied. Why wouldn't I be in a good mood at that moment. After you completed the job you flipped!!! My review and complaint is 100% related to my dryer. DAMAGE IS DAMAGE!!! You scheduled my move as a last minute job and weren't prepared.

I don't think you get it, ***..THE OWNER!! My complaint or reviews has NOTHING to do with my washer, which by the way is working great after a diagnostic reset. I told you several times that I wasn't sure what happened to my washer or who were or weren't in fault. I also told you that I didn't see how it was Liberty Moves fault since it worked AFTER my move. I told you and maintenance that I wasn't a furniture mover, appliance repairer or a maintenance worker. What I did know, was that my washer worked fine days before my move and after, it didn't. Had you not forgotten to reconnect my hose before leaving, I wouldn't have had to get maintenance involved. So next time, please don't forget something that important.

So now I'm bonkers. Didn't you send me text messages regarding what a life I don't have because I submitted my negative reviews regarding Liberty Moves on a Friday night. And didn't you happily advise me to make sure I submit reviews on all platforms? I wasn't even aware of movers.com and porch.com until you told me to add them to my list, as well. So, your wish was my command.

A $670 discount??? Had you quoted me $223/hour ($1300), I would've chosen a different company. You arrived at 10:07am and was finished a little after 3pm. This included a few, much needed water breaks and pizza for lunch. $100 for a dent. Why did you continue to tell me that you would repair my dryer days AFTER the job was complete. By then, I'm sure you had calculated your bogus discount. And I even told you that I would give you your $100 back. In our original text conversations, your discount included per man, gas, mileage, a Uhaul truck (since yours broke down). How is that part of my discount? That should be included in the $149/hour for 2 men for 4 hours. I paid you for 5 hours.

Based on your own words, as well as information from ***'s, the entire top/door of my dryer has to be replaced. Per ***'s, the cost can be well over $400+, so please stop patting yourself on the back for taking off $100. Highway robbery!!!!

Had I paid you $1300 for my move (which I wouldn't have), would you have repaired my dryer then. YOU FAILED TO PROTECT MY BELONGINGS AND DAMAGED MY DRYER.

And just to let you know, I paid more than $300 for my dryer.

I recently contracted with Liberty Moves Pinehurst to move heavy office furniture from an office in ***, NC to an office in ***, NC. The service I contracted for (2 helpers at both locations), was not what I received. When I inquired about a partial refund, I was told there would be no adjustment...period. When I persisted online with the owner as to why that was unfair, it was followed by a series of personal attacks about my appearance and my intelligence. He then admitted that he "knew the IT guy" at ***, where I left a 3 star review, and that he can have it taken down in 2 or 3 weeks. I guess that is why they only have 5 star reviews online - all the other ones are being taken down. I am not a lawyer, but that seems like advertising fraud to me.

Liberty Moves, ***, moved me from ***, GA to ***, GA and made a massive mess of my belongings. No labels on anything. Boxes not taped closed. I specifically asked that only boxes be used, but many, many black trash bags were used and not labeled. Pure acetate nail polish remover and drain cleaner were bagged together, which is illegal by law. Many belongings were damaged. I texted him and voiced my dissatisfaction and he denied allegations.I paid $5,000 for move.
