redemption amount as a service charge to pay for having the loan out for 30 more days. (i.e. On 6/15/13 $60 was due to get her item back, on 7/15/13 $70 is now due to get the item back, etc).
We have tried on numerous occasions to explain the system to this customer. We have gone the extra mile and called her when her pawn loan was eligible to be terminated and the item sold, just to give her an opportunity to bring her charges up to date.
She has been a good customer and made payments, though many times the payment was made after the due date and therefore incurred additional charges. This item has been in pawn for over two years has had several additional charges due at some points and has multiple payments made at some points in time too.
The service charges and customer payments are automatically calculated and recorded by our software program. The amount and due dates for redemption are all accurate. Though she may not like that she has to pay for these additional charges, she did agree to these terms in the original pawn loan contract.
