Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2014/04/01) */
After doing research online, We agree the electrical issues are being caused by dampness under the carpetWhen the vehicle left here there were no issues at allI have photos of the car showing the tach and dash in fine working
condition and the rear of the car without the taillights onWhen the shipping company picked the car up they inspected it to be in fine conditionThe customer accepted the car to be in fine condition when it was deliveredLater he said he noticed an odor and discovered the carpets to be soakedI can only assume that maybe the shipping coleft a window downIf you hold the button on the remote too long it lowers the windows 1/down and partially opens the sunroofAlso I don't know how to determine how long it would take for corrosion to formIt just seems to me that none of these issues ever occurred until the carpet got soakedIf it did take months as he has stated wouldn't the floor boards have rust or mold under the carpets? We owned that car for several months and it went through rain and snow storms but never had wet carpets or electrical issuesI feel bad for Dan and I understand he wants to blame us for this but there is nothing I can do to help himI have responded to all his emails and like I said I did research on his issues and passed the info on to himI will attach some photosLet me know if I can be of any further assistance
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2014/04/01) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
The floorboards are painted and coated, rust would take a very long timeThe corrosion on the electrical connections likely took less time to manifest than rust would but turquoise buildup and brittle/broken connections don't happen in the time it takes for transitI have fixed the car and JUST got it to pass inspection todayI have considered the repairs a sunk cost given the seller denies any responsibility for the corrosionAgain on the soaked carpets, the UNDERSIDE is soaked, the top is dry, you'd never know the underside was wet but I got over a gallon of water from the sub-floor that leaked from the sunroof drainI have irrefutable evidence this is what happenedThe corrosion can't be arguedMuch of the subfloor is plastic and coated to rust would be nearly impossible without YEARS of sitting in a pool of waterI paid a great mechanic a very reasonable sum to fix the jacked up connections rather than install a whole new harness but the complete lack of accountability from At Liberty Sales and Leasing has left me with a very bad taste in my mouthHad the original $6,estimate to repair the damage come to be necessary, my attorney would be involved
