I purchased a 2002 Chevy Impala from Car Credit in February of 2011. It was extremely overpriced at 8000 and I ended up paying over 10,000 for this ten year old car after financing. I had to have the wheel bearings, ignition, and water pump replaced immediately after getting the car. The down payment was extreme with so many hidden fees that I'm still confused today when I add up my payments. I made my payments faithfully and lost my job when I owed exactly 1,000. Car Credit came and took my car for being behind I think what was almost two payments. I called the same day and they said their policy was to wait 48 hours before allowing me to even pay to get my car back. They then added around 300 in extra fees even though I came immediately to pay. The car still legally belonged to me, but they had entirely stripped my car and bagged it up. I thought that was very odd and shady.The tow truck driver was shady and didn't want to meet me to return my belongings. I had to call the police to get my items returned after having to pay for them! The whole experience was just horrible. I was so disturbed that I didn't even argue about the extra unknown fees. I paid the car off and never wanted to ever have to be in contact with Car Credit. The entire process of dealing with them is shady from beginning to end. I don't care how desperate you are to have a car, SAVE YOURSELF THE MONEY AND HEADACHE AND DRIVE PAST THIS PLACE!!
