The practice of handing an adolescent a psychotropic drug without official diagnosis or evaluation seems bad practice as a doctor and facility that aims to help the mentally ill.
My son, 16, has not had a real visit by anyone at this facility in the 2 months we have been shuffled around the office and people who work at this facility.
My son and I together visit with a doctor that I suppose holds a Phd. No real questions were asked that would give anyone insight into the daily workings of my child's mind, he even failed to meet marker questions for depression...Yet he was still prescribed an antidepressant.
Twice (the first time after my suggestion), by two people at this facility, I have been told my son should have a psychiatry evaluation yet that seems to be a theory in the air with no action.

This is a facility that is a non for profit, understaffed, overworked, "let's put a bandaid on everyone that comes through the door" type of place. Not everyone that walks into their facility is low income, uneducated, looking for scripts.
Some people are seeking actual help not looking for bandaids in the form of pills.
