We trusted this company with our belongings at a very sensitive period in our lives Our things disappeared and the company did not cooperate in helping us figure out what happened to our possessions These were things that I, as a single mother had invested in, and we lost everything The company did not make the insurance I had bought validWe were treated with no empathy at all Horrible experience I would not recommend them to anyone

I was very displeased with my brief experience at LifeStorage of Rogers ParkMy newly-rented small storage locker had numerous mouse droppings on the cement floor, even after I had been assured that there were no mice in that buildingI began to clean out the unit, but before I had moved in a single item, I decided that I would prefer an upper locker for sanitary reasonsThis all happened within one hour of my completing the rental agreement paperwork and paying the first month's rent plus a $New Account Administration Fee, yet the management insisted on collecting an ADDITIONAL $fee to allow the switchI refused and took my business elsewhereA business that puts a few dollars ahead of customer satisfaction and customer service doesn’t deserve my patronage or my moneyI will never return to LifeStorage of Rogers Park and do not recommend the facility

I went this morning at 12pm to life storage on Grand Ave to get information about renting a space for some new furniture that I can't have in my apartment because I'm waiting on my new house to be ready to move inI ask for pricing in the diferent sizes of the species in there, to see which one was more affordable to meBut the costumer service was not to helpfullSince the lady that was in charge told me that they couldn't give me price on all the sizes with a very bad attitud So they ask questions regarding what I was going to need it forI told them, So they suggest me to get 10xso I ask for price they did told me how much it was.now the problem start went I ask for pricing on a small OneThe lady that was taking care of was call to office by the lady in charge, the one that disaide not to help me at the beginning because I was ask for pricing in different sizesI know that her manager was trying to hide this information to me,or at least that's how they make me feel, in order to get the one that I was suggested already I feel very upset with this attitude so I just disaide to live in that moment with out unfinished information

If I could give this company less than one star I wouldThey are over priced for what you getLate fees are behind fair and the manager, Joyce, is rude and condescendingIf your life gets in the way of their business practice, you will pay dearly for itI had to move out, was expecting a prorated for the monthNope, have to pay a full month for something I will not be usingWhen I questioned the policies, she couldn't explain anything and just gave, "well I" answersPlease research before deciding to rent storage hereI found a great place in Crystal lake that's brand new and, they had a truck that we used with no extra charge! And the monthly rent is saving me over $a month!

This place is here to rip you off. They employ people who do not complete simple tasks like change of address. Numerous times could not access lockers within the proper hours and account paid current. They have increased rates multiple times.

I have leased/rented storage space for nearly 2 years and the experience has been okay thus far; however, I recently had a poor experience. As with most people, I received a new credit card and I had to update the card w/Life Storage, but the payments were automatic so I didn't think twice about it. When I called and explained this to the associate, he said that I would owe a late fee, but when I called back with the new card, he added a second late fee. I asked for the fee to be waived since I had made on-time, monthly payments for 2 years, and he said that it is not their corporate policy. It was more about the principle than the money, but this is not how you treat a customer that has used your services for so long. Besides, there are less expensive places to store your holiday stuff. I will be looking for a new storage facility.

I called on Feb 10,2016 to see if I could get back what left of the money that would have been used for a storage area I got out on Feb 6.2016 but could have stayed there until the 22 of feb.I currently have a broken shoulder and they said they DID Not prorated money for storage areas,I told them I didn't think it was right for them to keep money that wasn't go used for the purpose intended ,they said that was in my rental agreement with them ,but I still told them that wasn't right.

I have read the few reviews on here and one individual has described it perfectly...choosing to rent or even walk in the door of this facility was one of the worst decisions ever made. The response from the company just made me want to get sick...pride themselves on customer service is the biggest joke I believe I have ever heard. The employees just flat out lie right to your face when you are renting anything. We were told we HAD to purchase their rental insurance for $20 yet were told that we could use our homeowners insurance by telephone. That started the entire ball rolling. We contacted corporate and in the beginning they were great but bottom line in the end they completely ignored all phone messages and calls and we received a letter to vacate by May 24th 2016. So if that is their idea of great customer service, well it is not. Because we chose to take the rental insurance they provided off of our monthly statement and use our homeowners insurance, they raised our rent by $20 monthly, when we called and called to try and get to the bottom of the giant increase so suddenly, calls were ignored and that is when we received the termination letter. I would not waste my time with this company

Choosing Life Storage turned out to be a decision I regret. The so-called value was not worth the harassment.

I rented a storage unit and mailbox when I started traveling for business. The payments were due on the 15th of each month and late fees were added if not paid by the 20th.

I informed the manager in writing that I would not pay on the 15th, but I would pay by the 20th of each month. Initially there was no problem, then one of the managers began calling 2-4 daily on the 16th of each month.

The calls were followed by voicemails and emails. During one-two day period I received 14 points of contact, including calls and emails. When I sent a written request to stop calling, the manager added a creepy element to things by calling from his personal phone.

The website list customer service as a reason to choose them. Under no circumstances should should this company be trusted. This was by far the WORST customer service experience I've ever had.
