Lightfoot Automotive Reviews (1)

Review: Took my vehicle to Lightfoot Automotive to have new front brakes and calipers put on it. After service was done, I had to return the vehicle at least 3 seperate times because brakes were WORSE after the fact than they had been before. After several returns and no luck, I finally took it to another service center in town and they did a minor adjustment that seemed to help the brakes for a few months. After that time, brakes were soft again but I didn't feel like I could return to Lightfoot and get any answers since I had not before. I took it in to a competitor on May 24, 2013 to get an oil change and asked them to inspect the brakes. They discovered a leaky front right caliper! I contacted Lightfoot who said that because I had written a poor review of their services online (yelp.com) that they would not do ANY work on my vehicle nor honor any sort of warantee that might have been on the service. This company gives poor customer service AND chooses to compromise the safety of my family!Desired Settlement: DesiredSettlementID: Replacement

I want them to replace the caliper at no cost since it was THEIR faulty service and product that started this.

Regarding Case# XXXXXXXX

By law, automotive repair shops are required to guarantee parts and labor for 90 days or 4,000 miles, whichever comes first. Lightfoot Automotive has gone above and beyond to honor this guarantee. Lightfoot Automotive has acted in good faith for almost a year to accommodated Ms. [redacted] on numerous occasions attempting to address her complaints. The original service on her 2004 Toyota 4 Runner was completed August 1, 2012. Since then, they have "bled" the brakes on two separate occasions after she insisted the brake lines had "air in them". She was not charged for either service. Both times a visual inspection was performed by the automotive technician which did not reveal a "leaky caliper". After she took the vehicle to "another service center", who "did a minor adjustment" that improved the brakes "for several months", Lightfoot Automotive reimbursed Ms. [redacted] the money paid to that service center and offered her a complimentary oil change for the inconvenience. Of note, this service center apparently did not observe the "leaky caliper" either. Per her own disclosure, Ms. [redacted] stated the brakes were better "for a few months"; it is likely that the caliper only recently failed; there by being discovered by the "competitor". Lightfoot Automotive is willing to provide a repair facility, of Ms. [redacted]'s choice, a replacement right front caliper, but chooses NOT to service her vehicle again. In closing, for 11 years Lightfoot Automotive and its employees have prided themselves on providing excellence service, taking the safety of their customers very seriously; any statement to the contrary is inflammatory and untrue. We have no prior complaints with the Revdex.com and are in good standing with the Bureau of Automotive Repair.

Sincerely,

[redacted], Owner of Lightfoot Automotive
