Upon reviewing this complaint, and all of our recorded activity on the customers account, theredo not appear to be any unwarranted or "false and underhanded" actions toward the consumer. consumer, for the sole purpose of collecting a past due loan obligation. Noharassing or illegal collection attempts were evident. The consumer did recently advise us thather mother passed away, who is a co-obligor on the loan, and also advised that she wouldcontinue to make payments. However, no payments have been received since that informationwas provided or for multiple months prior. While we do offer our condolences over the death ofher mother, this does not justify the consumers request for Lighthouse to forgive the debt or ceasecollection activity, as allowed by the tenns of the contract and Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.At this point, we will not forgive tl1e loan and will continue collection activity, as allowed by law,until the obligation is paid in full by the consumer.
