A settlement offer was tendered to Mr [redacted] this afternoon. It is less than he requested, as he is claiming substantially more than he is entitled to contractually. His contract calls for reimbursement for damages at 75 cents per pound, but he believes he is entitled to some greater level of...

compensation. The claim for hours is not genuine, as far more than the estimated hours were spent moving and then re-moving the furniture at the customers direction on the day of the move and on subsequent days following the move. We have made multiple trips to his home repairing and re-finishing both mars that we caused and those we did not. I will see what response I get to the offer.

If no reason is received your complaint will be closed Administratively Resolved]The claim for his employees leaving the job 4 hours earlier and then returning is accurate. However, two men returned and stayed no more than an hour. I an my wife were present. [redacted] was not aware of the incident until his son [redacted] informed him. The .75 per pound is on damaged items and not on missing /stolen items from his storage facility. We have $800.00 in damages and $350 of an over charge on labor. We also have pictures of all damages due to the companies neglect. What stikes me as odd is [redacted] included only my small refrigerator and the missing steam mop, I have a dry bar with a marble top that was created and rapped by the movers and has massive damage, to include a crack on the marble top. The bar weighs around 540lbs when put together. We have moved from Ohio to Georgia, then Florida and finally decided to purchase down the street, three times and never needed to file a claim. We use this company to store and move down the street and accrued more damage then all three of our moves combined. I can provide the moving companies information and you can look to see we never filed a claim with any of them. If this case is closed with no resolution, I will begin to file with St. Johns County small claims court. I have receipts for the missing items, pictures and copies of communications on this issue.

Mr [redacted] has stated his case and I am responding to state the case for our company. I am reviewing the claim sheet in front of me that was sent in to me. We agree to pay for all the items for which he asked for a monetary settlement except the hours of the work. What Mr [redacted] fails to mention is that instead of the four men on the job as per the estimate, we supplied five. It is natural that some of them left a bit earlier than the others so as to balance the hours out. he also fails to take into account the hours required to load onto the truck from our warehouse, no small task. These hours are also included in the time allotted for the delivery. This was a Not To Exceed estimate, and we did not exceed the charges estimated.  The items for which he asked for monetary settlement are as follows:Rhino Statue---weight 15 lbsMosaic Vase----35 lbsJapanese vase---32 lbsDisplay case----8 lbsrefrigerator freezer---78 lbsporcelain angel-------2 lbselectric steam mop-----6 lbsThe total weight of the above items is 176 lbs. We contractually are obligated to pay 75 cents per lb for lost or damaged items. That comes to $ 132.00. Two other items listed on the sheet asked for no compensation: the bunk bed, on which we replaced a small section of wood. The second is the bar which by photo shows some damage. We sent our expert furniture repair man to the [redacted] home on several occasions, and performed work on every piece that we were asked to. If that piece escaped attention during those visits, it is not due to any reluctance on our part. The $132.00 we are prepared to pay as full settlement of this claim.
