Hello, My wife and I hired Lighthouse Moving to move us from our one-bedroom apartment into our new 3-bedroom house on 4/28/When I set up the move, I talked to John (whom I believe is the owner)He asked about the size of our apartment, but did not seem interested in finding out other details about the moveI did inform him that our apartment was on the third floor with no elevator, and that it would require going up two flights of stairs to reach our unitI asked him if this would be an issue, or if there would be an extra charge at allHe said that it would be fine, and there would be no extra costJohn decided that the job could be done with two men and a 26-foot moving truck in approximately hours, just as the Angie’s List deal had advertised The last time I moved (when I moved into that apartment) I had roughly the same amount of belongings and boxes, and even had more large items than I did for the current move with LighthouseThe three movers from the previous mo

The customer is mad because I
will not replace his televisionHere is the problemThe case was not cracked, nor was the glass screen crackedThere was an internal line on the screenThis could have come from excessive vibration and bouncing around while traveling miles to TexasWe put a blanket around his television and packed in into his truck as best we couldConsidering that he had no television box, and no styrefoamWe were hired to pack up his truck, not to prepare his items for shippingThat is the responsibility of the shipperAlso we didn't drive the truck to Texas! We have no way to know how that load was treatedNor did we unload it in Texas! He tried to say that we dropped it, which was not trueHad we dropped it there would have been a crack or chip in the plasticHe sent me a picture of the tv and the case was, and is perfectThe television was out of our control for the or days it took to drive the miles to TexasOur job is to safely load the television into the shipping container, or truckThe owner was okay with how we loaded the television at the timeWe took great care and used blanketsBut trucks driving long distances often are bounced around severelyThere is no way that we should be held responsible for a television that was outside of our control, for days and miles, and then was unloaded by a different moving crew!

I'm not sure what the complaint was accept to say that one man was slow that day, which I acknowledged by saying that he was not feeling well I also gave them a third worker at just the cost of his hourly wage $per hour, when normally I get $per hour per worker So I have
certainly tried to work with them on that day As to the length of the move, I wasn't there, but unless they were sleeping I assume that they were working and that they were moving furniture when there And we had three people moving their furniture not two But the bottom line is that I did promise her a $refund, and I will certainly honor that We have been busy doing and moves per day for the last month So didn't mean to forget to mail the check I will mail it today Sincerely, John ***

Lighthouse Moving was incredible flexible to our changing schedule and went above and beyond to meet our needs/requirementsThey're priced lower than their competitors, but far exceed in value! I will be using them again for our next move!

One day late! Yes, you read that correctly. If you want your move to go smoothly DO NOT hire Lighthouse Moving. [redacted] the owner is [redacted] and [redacted]. He cannot keep his crews and scheduled moves straight. I called a month early to schedule and I was given an arrival time of 2:00 Saturday. At 1:40 I was t[redacted] by [redacted] the guys were leaving Hopkins and after their break they would be at our condo in an hour. At 3:00 I called him and he was definitely [redacted]. He said the guys were unloading a high rise and it would be a few hours. High rise in Hopkins?? I reminded him of what he said at 1:40. He just kept rambling on and on, and I realized then he sent the movers to another appointment. He realized it too, but he offered NO APOLOGY, NO SYMPATHY, NOTHING. All he did was make excuses, talking over me, and blame the homeowners for lying about what they had to move. Desperate, because at this point no other movers were available, we decided to wait. I have never felt so mad and helpless. It was not what I needed considering moving is stressful enough. Around 6:00 [redacted] called and suggested we wait till Sunday morning, because the guys already had two moves for the day. What choice did we have?? What about the appointment I made over a month ago?? What if we had to be out that day?? Still NO APOLOGY, NO SYMPATHY, NOTHING. When the movers arrived they knew about yesterday’s situation and said [redacted] overbooks ALL THE TIME and wanted us to know it was not their fault.
Don’t risk your move being delayed by one day. Hire a professional moving company that honors their appointment and believes in customer service. This is not my first time hiring movers, I know what to expect and this was the worse experience I have ever had. I don’t know how Lighthouse got an A+ rating through Angie’s list or any of the good reviews on reviews on Google and Yelp, but I am here to warn you to AVOID LIGHTHOUSE MOVING.

Several months ago I was forced to move out of a violent household. I had only a few days to pack and move all of my things into storage. I called and spoke to [redacted], owner of Lighthouse Moving. He was very understanding and sympathetic. He worked my move into his schedule for the following day. The truck was there right on time and the movers were polite and professional. The move went very smooth even though the people still living in the house I was moving out of were rude to the movers and kept getting in their way. The movers handled the situation beautifully. They took great care in wrapping my furniture and loaded the truck fast and efficiently. I was a nervous wreck before the move but [redacted]'s movers put me at ease and made a bad situation a lot less stressful. I highly recommend Lighthouse Moving.

Regarding the complaint about the sheet rock. My workers have told me that there was quite a bit of damage
from when this huge couch had been moved into the basement before us. Not just a little crack as is being suggested.
It would be...

very difficult to do $240 worth of damage to his basement stair wall. Also, the cost of some plaster and paint
does not come anywhere close to a figure of $240. I'll reimburse Mr. Robert [redacted] for the original agreed upon
amount of $90: This has been my intent all along, and I do apologize for not getting this check to Mr. [redacted] sooner.
