I am responding to this complaint with regards to the furniture purchased by ** *** from Carriage House FurnitureI will address the issues in the Customer's Statement of the Problem.*** *** leather furniture finish is too thinCarriage House Interiors sent the ottoman in
question to the *** *** factory for inspection and evaluation as to the quality of the leatherThe company got back to us saying there was not any quality defect with regards to leather on the ottomanWe were told that the scratch on the leather was due to a consumer issue not a defect in the leatherNot the same leather quality as the samples provided prior to the sale Carriage House Interiors deals only with companies of high integrity and quality standardsWe take great pride in our A+ Revdex.com ratingI don’t know how to prove to the consumer that the sample is the same quality as the furniture delivered other than to state that the *** *** Company has tested the returned item and deemed it to be free of quality defects.Took over months to get the furniture and the ottoman scratched within daysWhile the leather hides are domestic in origin the pieces are manufactured outside of the country This causes longer delivery times but also allows the consumer the option to purchase products at a greatly reduced priceAs far as scratching the ottoman within days of delivery, I respectfully submit that time frame is irrelevantIt only takes a moment to have something on your shoe or anything on your person to cause a scratch on a leather item.They came after the ottoman to evaluate and repairThey have had it for over monthsCarriage House Interiors did pick up the ottoman for evaluation and repair over months agoThe *** *** company did evaluate the ottoman and determined the issue to be one of a consumer caused problem and not a leather quality issueAs a courtesy to the consumer they said they would repair it for freeThe leather has been on back order from tannery which is the cause for the delay in returning the ottoman to the consumer Mr*** was informed by email that the ottoman could be returned to him if he did not want to wait for the leather repair to be madeAdvise them to refund my moneyMr *** received my email after having sent the letter to the Revdex.comIn that correspondence | offered to let them reselect something else since they were not satisfied with their purchaseThey did not seem to want to resolve the issue in that mannerCarriage House Interiors wants to satisfy customers in a reasonable and businesslike mannerIN this instance with the manufacturer stating that there is nothing wrong with the quality their product and the the offer to réselect another product from Carriage House InteriorsWe feel we have tried to make a fair and reasonable effort to resolve this issue in a good faith manner.*** ***, Carriage House Interiors

RESPONSE: We were told that the scratch on the leather was due to a consumer issue not a defect in the leatherThis statement has no meritThere are many types of leather full grain, top grain, splits, bonded and many grades and finishing techniques in each categoryFor *** *** to verify that the leather meets specs does not attest to the quality
Not the same leather quality as the samples provided prior to the saleCarriage House Interiors deals only with companies of high integrity and quality standardsWe take great pride in our A+ Revdex.com ratingI don’t know how to prove to the consumer that the sample is the same quality as the furniture delivered other than to state that the *** *** Company has tested the returned item and deemed it to be free of quality defects
RESPONSE: We have active grandchildren and were concerned about the durability of leather furnitureWhen we took the samples provided by Carriage House home I tested the scratch resistance by actually scraping the sample with the point of my pocket knifeIt left an indentation but no surface degradation as seen on the ottoman and now the rest of the furnitureI’ve argued this point from day and this is the first time they even responded to itThis point doesn’t have to be argued, they can perform the same test as I on the sample and see for themselves that I’m telling the truth

RESPONSE: We were told, at the time of purchase, that delivery would be months due to the above reasonsIf we knew over $of our money would be tied up for over six months we would have not made the purchaseThe other comments here are a moot point
They came after the ottoman to evaluate and repairThey have had it for over monthsCarriage House Interiors did pick up the ottoman for evaluation and repair over months agoThe *** *** company did evaluate the ottoman and determined the issue to be one of a consumer caused problem and not a leather quality issueSame response as above about the leather qualityThey have now had the ottoman months
As a courtesy to the consumer they said they would repair it for freeThe leather has been on back order from tannery which is the cause for the delay in returning the ottoman to the consumerMr*** was informed by email that the ottoman could be returned to him if he did not want to wait for the leather repair to be made
Advise them to refund my money

RESPONSE: I explained to Mr*** that, due to the unpleasant experience with Carriage House, that we would not consider store credit unless they carried a similar quality American made product that could be substitutedHe never answered me
