Review: On Dec 22 I asked this restaurant to review an overcharge for a group meal on Nov 23 (details below). The restaurant didn't reply. I queried again on Jan 8 and received this reply: "This is the first time that I read your email, I will check in details, it may take longer because the paperwork, I will get back to you ASAP!" I have not heard anything since, despite a 3rd query on Feb 7.The overcharge is in the amount of $89.10. I am going to paste below my 1st query with the relevant details. The internal response from the restaurant is in [brackets].The original query begins by quoting our pre-dinner negotiations:Let me confirm that for a group of 9 in Lillies Room on Nov 23 (Sat), the total cost including tax, fees, tip will be $483, or $53.67 per person. [Correct! this the final price.]My query continues: Please let me emphasize that our negotiation led to an agreement that the tip would be included in the pre-fix amount, or $483.As I look at the handwritten bill, however, it lists the following amounts:Pre-fix dinner: 405.002 antipasta: 90.00Bar tab: 70.00Total: 565.00Then, below:Gratuity: 124.30Tax: 56.50Total: 745.80The gratuity, as you can see, is 22% of the 565.00 initial total. However, as we agreed via email, the tip on the pre-fix portion of the occasion was to be included in our agreed-upon price. Obviously, we should pay the gratuity on the antipasta and on the drinks (which were not part of the initial agreement) but that means that the total additional gratuity should have been only 35.20 (i.e., 22% of 90 + 70, or 160.00) and NOT 124.30.By my accounting, then, we were overcharged by $89.10 in gratuities for that dinner. . . . For that reason, I seek reimbursement for that $89 figure from Lillies on my [redacted] ending in XXXX. Please let me know at your earliest convenience when you have a chance to review these figures. I have retained a copy of the handwritten invoice as well as the [redacted] receipt in case you would like me to send it to you.Desired Settlement: I am asking for the restaurant to refund the overcharge of $89.10.
