Lincoln Heritage Life Insurance Company Reviews (75)

Review: My problem with Lincoln Heritage Insurance Company is I, [redacted] am the primary beneficiary of a Life Insurance policy that was taken out by a Friend of mine. The owner of the policy([redacted]) passed away two months after joining the insurance. Now Lincoln Heritage Insurance Company is now requesting, that whoever is handling his affairs to sign a Medical Release form which would be his next of kin. I have explained to the Insurance Company that I have no contact with his next of kin so that the medical release form can be signed and returned to close the claim. Lincoln Heritage also requested his information about Death and I mailed that information and I was told by a claims Manager that I would receive the benefits that the owner of the Policy paid and I haven't

received anything from this company but the same annoying letters requesting the Medical Release form to be signed. The owner that placed this policy with Lincoln Heritage Insurance chose to make me([redacted]) the beneficiary and now I'm having a problem with the Company to pay off the claim. I am very dissatisfied with Lincoln Heritage at this point. I'm asking the Better Business to please try and get me some type of satisfaction in trying to get this claim issue resolved. When the Insurance agent sold the owner of the policy the insurance they never requested any information about his Medical history so I'm wondering now why is it a problem. Is this a legitimate Company or what? It's just sad that you have to deal with the passing of a Dear Friend, and then after the passing you have to deal with a company that does not want to cooperate with me in paying off this claim. This is very unsatisfactory to me and I would never recommend Lincoln Heritage Insurance Company because when you file a claim you can't even get the what's due to you as being Beneficiary of a policy as the company proclaims on television advertising and the representatives that they have selling Insurance. So, ask yourself is this false advertising or what.Desired Settlement: ([redacted]) My desired outcome of this situation is that Lincoln Heritage Insurance Company pay me what is due to me I'm the beneficiary of a Life Insurance Policy.

Response:

Thank you for forwarding the information to us on the above referenced complaint. We appreciate the opportunity to respond as our company takes great pride in keeping our promises, and we provide excellent customer service that is unmatched in the insurance industry.

When an insurance company issues life insurance, it must rely on the health information given on the application to determine what type of coverage a person is eligible for. If the information given is not accurate, then the company is not able to make a proper underwriting decision. When a claim arises during the first two policy years of the policy issue date, the company has a right to review the information given on the application to make sure it was accurate.

Because the above noted policy was less than two years old it is considered to be in the contestability period. Therefore in order to investigate the claim we will request the medical records and confirm the information on the application for insurance.

Due to [redacted] regulations, medical facilities require specific information in order to release records to anyone after the patient is deceased. Therefore, these requirements include the claims forms and medical records request must be signed by the next of kin.

In order for us to proceed with this claim according to Ms. [redacted]'s request we will need the appropriate medical records to review. As we advised her previously, if she is able to get us the documentation needed to continue with the claim process we will be happy to do so. Otherwise the most that we can do is refund all premiums paid on the policy upon receipt of a written request from Ms. [redacted].

We hope this information is of assistance to you. Please feel free to contact me with any further questions regarding contestability or regarding the claims process at [redacted].

Sincerely,

Manager

Policy Benefits

A salesperson knocked on my door last Friday presenting himself without a call or an appointment. I sent in an inquiry for some information about their plans. I sat down with him for his presentation though all I was looking for was the bottom line. I find the more a salesperson speaks the less interested I become. I knew exactly what I wanted and wanted to get down to business and not the sales pitch. So he began with all the "benefits" and "advantages" of their policy. All very nice but not that impressive. Most of it was just practical preparation with little effort. Then he asked to see my insurance policy. I keep all my papers in the safe locked in a closet and judged that what I needed was his program and not mine. He then told me that he can call my insurance company to get that information. At that point I lost all interest. For the sake of politeness I did call to get from them what I already told him I had. His purpose was to prove to me that my life insurance could be raised if everybody's was raised. That was to convince me that his policy never is raised. While on the phone with the agent he jumped in and began to speak out loud to let the agent know that he was an insurance agent and that he better tell the real story. Now I was really disappointed. Finally, he put down the cost of the policy and the premium. It was insignificant compared to what I was already getting with my life insurance. Finally, he asked if I was interested. I told him not at this time and he was out the door leaving behind his obvious failure and disappointment that he did not get the sale. I tell you this just to say, here is my experience and I would not recommend them. A letter did arrive from the company later that day announcing a salesperson.

Review: I've taken out a policy with Lincoln Heritage life ins. for the first month.then Mr.Maurice L[redacted] called to let me know that it would cost me 15 to 20 dollars more,so I [redacted] told Mr. Maurice to just cancel the policy. One month later Mr. Maurice called to ask me if I wanted to pay on the policy so it did not lapse.I said I DO NOT WANT THE POLICY ANYMORE AND TO STOP CALLING ME. Two months went by and again Mr. Maurice L[redacted] called me again.I [redacted] again ask him to please stop calling me and bothering me about this policy that I do not want. Now that months have gone by,and I would have thought that this man Mr. Maurice L[redacted] who still sells life ins. for Lincoln Heritage life ins. comp. decided to call me again to see if I would like to catch up on months of the policy being lapse.I [redacted] asked Mr. Maurice if he had a hearing problem and he answer no why,so I [redacted] asked Mr. Maurice L[redacted] to once again to leave me alone, and if he'd call me again that I will sue Lincoln Heritage ins. comp. for harassment . Also I did contact the company Lincoln Heritage life ins. co. about this before at [redacted].and Mr. L[redacted] keeps calling from[redacted] is his cell phone his last time calling me was April 5,2016.Now I did call this number to make sure that I had the right number, didn't say anything and hung up the phone ,but befroe I hugn up Mr. L[redacted] said Mr. Norris I thought you did not want to talk to me.Now with that being said WHY does he have me listed as a contact on his phone,he should have erased my number since I did cancel the policy almost 5 maybe 6 months ago.So is he Mr. L[redacted] planning on calling me again months later down the road.PLEASE HELP ME from this arrogant person from calling me again. THANK YOU!Desired Settlement: please call the company and ask if they will talk to Mr. Maurice L[redacted] to erase my number from his contact list so I know I will not be harass by this person again, because I've tried calling the company before and it did not help. THANK YOU Revdex.com

My mother passed away on January 31, 2015 - 5 weeks short of the two year review period. We had two policies with Lincoln but they declined this one stating she had COPD which was not put on the application form. She died from Parkinson's which is clearly stated on the death certificate! I answered the application to the best of my knowledge (both applications were answered the same way). I only had my mother with me for 3 1/2 years and no one ever said anything about COPD! This company is evil, immoral and has no conscience! I am canceling my own policy with them.

Review: My mother purchase a life insurance plan with Lincoln Heritage in 2012. The policy was paid by [redacted], it appears that tried to debit the about in Nov, and Dec. however the account was frozen. My mother was not ware of this issue. She was not properly notified that there was a issue with the payment of the policy from Lincoln Heritage. My mother has since passed and they will not pay the the policy stating a lapse in premiums. She received no notification, and no phone call. I believe they have tried to take advantage of her due to her age. I can understand not paying the full amount, but they should pay the amount less the premiums that were not paid. She had paid into this police for over a year and a half without interuptions, that should mean something.Desired Settlement: Payment of the policy less the premiums not paid, due to the history of payments received for a year and a half

[redacted] took this policy out in March 2012. The premiums on this account were drafted from Ms. [redacted]'s checking account on a monthly basis until November 2012 when the draft was returned stating the account was frozen. On November 5, 2013 a notice was sent to Ms. [redacted] regarding the premium return. On December 2, 2013 we received a telephone call from Ms. [redacted] stating that the account was good and requested us to draft the premium December 4, 2013. On December 27, 2013 we received a request from Ms. [redacted] to send a reinstatement form and she was advised that we would need three months of premium. This company used the small print on my wife`s life insurance policy to not pay the claim I filed after her death on 9/23/13

Review: My wife, [redacted]r, spent more than an hour with various representatives of Lincoln Heritage Life Ins. Co. trying to cancel a policy that we didn't realize we had and which we have been paying $12.99 a month since 2010. My wife, who pays our bills, said it showed up as a health insurance policy and assumed I had bought such a policy. I have not bought such a policy and never heard of Lincoln Heritage Life until now.It turns how the policy was for identity theft protection, not health insurance.I did ever buy such a policy from Lincoln Heritage Life..Each representative at Lincoln Heritage to whom my wife spoke transferred her to someone else. Moreover, this so-called policy has no policy number. The representatives my wife talked to kept asking for a policy number. On the monthly bank statement we receive, it says CO ID: [redacted]. As it turns out this is not a policy number, the representatives told us. Apparently there is no policy number.. She must have been asked at least 20 times to spell my name. She got no where with the representatives. Finally, her telephone connection with Lincoln Heritage went dead. We were unsuccessful in trying to cancel the policy.Desired Settlement: Cancellation of policy.

On February 17, 2016 we faxed our reply to you to fax number [redacted] For your convenience I have attached the response to this request. Please let us know if you need any further information.Thank you

I was very taken back an upset when a representative named Greg of Lincoln Heritage came to my home unannounced and uninvited . He had my phone number but did not call me for a phone interview or to schedule an appt. with me. He arrived at 2:30 in the afternoon, I am grateful my landlord was there installing a new dishwasher. I told him I was unwell and he insisted three times it would only take 5 minutes. I view this physical intrusion as solicitation in our neighborhood. I felt very uncomfortable. My husband said he could not come back for a follow up visit, I attempted to call him but his phone was disconnected. Beware...

Review: IN August 2012 .I [redacted] set up a appointment with Lincoln Iinsurance company the guy came to my mom residents which is a senior facilities. He sign her up for the policy.never once did he state due to her being in a facilitie she wasn't eligible. Due to a miss understanding with the payment I had to request a reinstatement. My reinstatement was denied based on her being in a facilitie.I have paid two in a half years on this policy now you all are saying its our fault. For signing the policy when the train insurance guy was sitting right there in the facilitie signing her up .if this is the case im requesting my full two and a half years of payment back .then you stated.I can council the policy in receive one hundred in thirty four dollars back. What a insult if you all are saying she shouldn't have ever been insured, wouldn't that be the right thing to do give all the money back that you have collected. My question to you.How many other peoples have you guy's sign up in these facilities. I would love to know .so will millions of other peoples. Hopefully this doesn't have to go any farther. (Mom uninsured 88)Desired Settlement: All of the one hundred dollars for two in half years not to mention the other policy I had for four years before I restart this.Wow who has money to throw away.ALSO YOU ALL SHOULD REVISED THAT THIRTY DAY POLICY ESPECIALLY WHEN PEOPLES HAS INVEST YEARS INTO A POLICY .THERE SHOULD BE A NINETY DAY OPEN WINDOW IF YOU ARE really CONCERNED about they love one like you state.

We have received your correspondence and appreciate the opportunity to respond. We have attempted to obtain a statement from our agent, [redacted] but were unable to do so. We believe that he is gravely ill and may have passed away.We have spoken to Ms. [redacted] regarding her complaint. She gave us the name and address of the facility that her mother, [redacted] resides in. We attempted to contact the facility to see what level of care they provide so that we may determine the possibility of reinstating the policy. The administrator at the [redacted] said that Ms. [redacted] was not currently in residence and the facility was under new management as of July I, 2014. We have left two messages (January 9 and 14) for Ms. [redacted] that have not been returned. We hope this information has been helpful to you and that you find we have acted in a fair and responsible manner. Please contact us if you have any questions, or require further information.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

I have been checking my phone in mail daily waiting on a response so that's hard for me to believe. I guess they are waiting on my mom to pass also.I explain to them she was no longer there its other ways of finding out information if are really sincere

Review: I was insured by Lincoln Heritage Life Insurance. I just switched last this month to [redacted] insurance because they are cheaper. I paid at first of each month to be insured for that month. The insurance company took the money out for this month already from my banking account. So next month I am insured by [redacted] and they will take out money out of my bank account for insurance for September. Lincoln sent me a bill for $61.44, with instructions to pay on September 3, 2015. I don't owe Lincoln Heritage any money so I called them and they told me to simply throw the bill away. I think they are running a scam; if I had been mentally impaired and just sent the money in they would have kept it. Please investigate this complaint.Desired Settlement: Investigate to see if this is a common practice with this company.

Instruct them to not try to take any more money out of my meager bank account; I live only on

Social Security.

Dear Dispute Resolution Consultant:Owner: [redacted]We have received your correspondence and appreciate the opportunity to respond. Please find enclosed a copy of our letter to Mr. [redacted] as well as the detail of our refund check for $26.64. The only reason he received a bill was because we stopped the automatic payments as a courtesy when he called on August 4, 2015 to request cancellation. If Mr. [redacted] were to send in any additional payments, we would be unable to apply them since his policy is cancelled and they would be returned to him.We hope this information has been helpful to you and that you find we have acted in a fail' and responsible matmer. Please contact us if you have any questions, or require further information.

We received your correspondence yesterday and appreciate the opportunity to assist in this matter. The policy above was issued on 4/3/1997. A copy of the application for insurance is enclosed. The loan balance of $2,940.63 originated from an (APL) of$150.25 to pay 3 months premium that was done on 11/11/2002. An APL of $206.93 to pay 4 months premium was done on 3/312003. On 7/1/2003 an APL of$566.98 to pay for 12 months was done. An APL for $113.38 to pay 2 months premium was done on 7/1/2004. On 1/3/2006, an APL of$263.62 to pay 5 months premium was done. We are happy to continue the conversation regarding the above policy. If Ms. [redacted] did not have the APL option on her policy, it would have converted to Reduced Paid Up insurance (RPU) under the policy's non-forfeiture provision. Ms. [redacted] has paid a total of$248.06 in payments toward her loan. Interest on the loan is 8% per year. Total interest charged for the loan through 9/30/13 is $1,495.27. A total of 34 months premium was paid by APL. If that were reversed, her policy would be paid to 12/2010 and would have cash value of$2,743.95 and RPU value of$4,385. The loan balance would be gone and we would refund $248.06. If Ms. [redacted] wishes to keep the face value of $9,000, she will be responsible for the loan balance. We send a letter each time an APL is done as well as an annual loan letter to all policyholders with outstanding loan balances on each anniversary. As a gesture of goodwill, If she wishes to convert to the RPU value above, we simply need a written request with her signature. This offer is valid until November 15,2013. We hope this additional information has been helpful to you. Please contact us if you have any questions, or require further information.

My father purchased a final burial plan before he passed away. I am very disappointed with the service I received from Lincoln Heritage and never thought a reputable company would be so dishonest. An agent stopped by my father's house to help him purchase and fill out a small policy of $5000. It cost him $139 per month. After my father passed the service I received was very poor.

Initially when I called while condolences were given there was a litany of questions regarding his death. They said they would mail documents which took over a week to receive and asked me to fill out physician's reports. I waited over 6.5 weeks to receive a response. I was told that a pre-existing conditions three years ago disqualified him from a small settlement. I will never use or recommend this company again.

guy just showed up at my door pounding on my early in the morning day before left a note saying missed delivery.very shady people

Review: I GAVE THIS COMPANY A CHECK FOR $89.02 FOR 2 INS POLICIES FOR MY HUSBAND AND I. I WAS CALLED ON JAN 2ND TO CONFIRM INFO WHICH TURNED OUT TO BE JUST ABOUT TOTALLY DIFFERENT THAT WHAT THE AGENT AND I DISCUEED. I TOLD HER I WANTED TIME TO THINK ABOUT THIS AND I STOPPED PAYMENT ON THE CHECK FOR $89.02. ON JAN 3 LINCOLN HERITAGE DEBITED MY CHECKING ACCOUNT FOR $90.10 WHICH I DIDN'T AUTHORIZE AND NOW IS REFUSING TO REFUND MY MONEY.Desired Settlement: I WANT THE 2 FEES I PAID $66 AND THE $90.10 PUT BACK IN MY BANK ACCOUNT IMMEDIATELY.

This company doesn't need to have an A+ rating because they have lied to me continually about a request I submitted. I am starting to believe it is all about the money and not customer service with this company and I will be looking for someone else to do business with.
