Review: Good Morning -I have documentation backing all of this, however, for the sake of the complaint, I will keep this non-narrative.My grandmother's wedding dress, a 60-year old pink satin dress in near-perfect condition, was taken to Lincoln Park Cleaners to get alterations and a press done. 2 weeks later, I picked up my dress to see that the alterations were done correctly, however, the manager called me to tell me that his plant worker incorrectly tried to clean a "stain" on my dress and used incorrect procedures and chemicals, causing the fabric to be rubbed off in the front of my dress. However, he did tell me that he could fix it if I allowed them to work on it. I agreed.2 weeks later - I go to check on my dress and the store employee tells me that they have not started because the owner was "on vacation".2 weeks later - I go to check on my dress and the store employee tells me that they have not started because the seamstress was "on vacation"2 weeks late - I go to check on my dress, store employee calls the manager, manager tells me nothing can be done to fix the dress and "what do I want for compensation...store credit"?I tell him that store credit will be unacceptable given the time this has taken and the dress being of sentimental and antique value. He never calls me back to follow up.1 week later - I go to the store, owner is not there, dress has been dropped off by co-owner. I call the owner and he hangs up on me after saying "he's on vacation and cannot speak". I call the co-owner who lies about knowing about my dress, then that she's not with her husband, the co-owner and that the owner is on vacation. In fact, she admitted that the owner was sitting next to her while she was speaking and that they were liable for the dress. They offered no compensation and hung up on me. I took photos of the dress and left it there. I would like compensation for my grandmother's wedding dress, as nothing has been offered and they have been evasive in fixing the problem that they createdDesired Settlement: I am not paying for the $80 charge for the dry cleaning and pressing, however, I do not have my dress in my possession and I cannot wear it nor can it be fixed. I would like compensation to what I have researched and gotten the dress appraised (aside from invaluable sentiment and my not being able to wear it for my own wedding in june) at $1000. it is a silk antique dress that was ruined and also now has a hole in it. I also have to find another dress to wear and my wedding is in june.
